2010 - The Start of my Blog!
First and foremost Happy New Years Eve!
I've decided with the start of a new year that now is a perfect time to start with a blog. To begin, I'd like to give a little introduction and tell you a few things about myself. I'm an 18 year old senior in high school. I live in a small town in the United States. I'm into anything technology related- video games, music, movies, internet, podcasts, etc, etc, etc. My other interests include sports (primarily NFL football and MMA), reading, writing, hanging out with friends, and sacrificing goats.

2009 Year in Review
-
2009 was a great year for me. Some of my highlights of the year included placing at the state wrestling tournament, my football team going 11-1 and qualifying for state, and a vacation to the West Coast- Sin City, the Grand Canyon, and California. I was able to see Brett Favre in person for the first time when I went to a Viking game this year. (I'm a Packer fan and huge Favre fan). =P

What 2010 holds in store...
-
With that said, I'm highly looking forward to 2010 and I hope it can be one of the best years yet for me. I have lots of big important events going on in 2010. In May of this year, I will be graduating high school. This is something I have been looking forward to since about 10th grade. Don't get me wrong, high school was a lot of fun, but it becomes so repetitive and boring. I go to a small school with only about 80 kids in my grade. I have some great friends but their are quite a few people that I won't miss seeing everyday once I graduate.

Towards the end of June 2010, I will be leaving for basic training for the United States Air Force. I'm a member of the Air National Guard. (basically is part time military). This will be a completely unique experience for me as it is for pretty much anyone. It is something I'm looking excited about and looking forward to except for being deprived of entertainment, internet, communication (phone), TV, etc.
. Basic training is 8 weeks long and following that I will be going to a 3 month long technical school for my career field (Aircraft Maintenance).
-
I will be returning from basic training and tech school next December. After celebrating Christmas and enjoying a few weeks off, I will be starting my first semester of college in January 2011.

That is basically a preview of what is in store for me in the year ahead. I think this will be a great time of my life where I'll be experiencing lots of new things. I'm sure it will have its up and downs.

Christmas, Games, movies, music, and books!
Now, to talk a little about what has been going on in my life recently. I have been enjoying a break from school and spending time with relatives over the holidays. This Christmas was a great time. Of course one of the best times about the holidays is all of the food! My Grandma is a fantastic cook. My parents gave me and ipod Touch this year. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I've also taken advantage of the Steam holiday sale and bought Torchlight for $10. It is a very fun game. I love blowing stuff up with my pew pew lazerz ^^.

Over the past week, I went to the movie theater to see Avatar 3-D and Sherlock Holmes. I was shocked at how good of a movie Avatar was. It surpassed my expectations in every way. Sherlock Holmes was also a good movie, but not as good as I anticipated.

As far as video gaming goes, I've been playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on my Xbox 360, Zelda: Spirit Tracks on my DS, and as previously mentioned Torchlight on PC.

And for music- I have been listening to the ffxi soundtrack, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zherMkcXdo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajj84Nyb0Bw, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FXJItBMhGo to name a few.

The only book I am currently reading is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's the only book in the series that I haven't read yet and after recently watching the 6th Harry Potter film, I've decided now is a better time than ever to begin reading it. I'm about 200 pages in and loving it so far.
