What I am doing on Halloween today.
Hello and happy Halloween.
Today is going to be somewhat busy today for me, even through I am not treat or treating. Here what I am doing today:
- I already been playing the Left 4 Dead 2 demo a few times this morning.
- Go watch Drag me to Hell after finishing this blog.
- Go play some Team Fortress 2 Halloween special, and L4D2 demo.
- Go to my friend's house for a few hours. We will probably play some games and help give candy out.
- When I get back home, I will play Dear Esther... in the dark.

Well that my schedule today lol, and I sure I am going to enjoy it.
I might give my impressions on Left 4 Dead 2 demo and Team Fortress 2 Halloween special tomorrow. I also post some pics on L4D2 demo so you can check them out in my images.
NeoTokyo and Goldeneye Source impressions.
Well after getting piss at GM lol, I decided to try something that I have done before, but never succeedwith sadly, and that is downloading a mod. I look into some of the mods that is run by the source engine from Valve, and I found two which I decided to give a try. They are NeoTokyo and Goldeneye Source.

So I already played a little of both of them, and I will give both my first impressions.
I will start with NeoTokyo. NeoTokyo is a FPS thatseems to be similar to Counter Strike andhasa ghost in the shell setting. There are two teams, and the main goal in this game is to find the "ghost" and capture random spawned objects. The ghost part is like CTF, but if you team has the ghost, then you can see where the players on the other team are. Thematches is set up into rounds, and if you died, then you have to wait for the next round.
First off, I really love the setting.I like thefuture like tokyo setting, and the graphics looks beautiful, even through the mod is not running the latest source engine. And I swear this game has the cell-shaded look, even through the graphics are more on the realistic side. It just beautiful. However I just can't get into the gameplay. Maybe I am just not used to that very tactical squad based type FPS. And even more annoying it like the players from the other team will instantly find me, just moments after the round started. I guess the they found the ghost pretty quickly. So I actually hardly got into the matches, because I keep getting kill at the first few moments of the round! And sadly this mod seems like a ghost town. When I went through the big list of servers, I only saw two that were active. Hopefully this mod will get more popular, but for me I just couldn't get into the CS like gameplay. I might still play it but probably not much. No bigger through, since it is free, so hey it was worth a try.
Now for Goldeneye Source, which I enjoy a lot more. It is a remake of the multiplayer part of Goldeneye for the N64. I never really played GE for the N64, but this mod reminded me alot of Nightfire, so I got into the mod pretty quickly. You just choose from 9 characters, and just go through Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch. They seem to have remade the multplayer very well. The music sounds like, the maps looks good (you can even play the cla.ssic versions), and it just feel like Nightfire to me, So I really enjoy this mod fast. However is it just me, or are some of the guns are so overpowered? I swear I keep getting kill by 1 or 2 hits from a handgun (not the golden gun). I just died within seconds, but otherwise I am enjoying the mod a lot more then NeoTokyo, and this will probably be the closest thing of playing Goldeneye for me.![]()
Well that my impressions for both. They have some flaws, but hey they are free mods and they are being improve with new updates. For Neo Tokyo, I say give it a try, and see if you enjoy the gameplay or not. For Goldeneye Source, I would say definitely try it, especially if you love the original, or like 007 in general. You just need a steam anccont, and at least one source game (Half Life 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, and a couple of others) in order to play these game.
Edit (second impressions): Well I been playing these mods more today. I am actually starting to enjoy NeoTokyo more now that I am slowly getting the hang of how it is play. I also love how the maps are design, through a couple might be a bit too complex. This mod also has a amazing soundtrack, but it isn't in-game, which make it seems to be a waste of time (at the moment that is).![]()
As for Goldeneye, I am still enjoying, however I notice a major flaw, which I kinda mention in my first impressions. This mod has some weapon balance issues. Some weapons like most of the handguns, are so overpowered, while weapons like SMG type guns and even some shotguns are underpowered. Also some matches can be a mine fest, which can be a pain in the neck.
Garry's Mod is pissing me off!
Hello again, and I am in a bad mood now. Well a couple weeks ago, I gotten myself Garry's Mod, because it was $5 on Steam for a week. I thought it was a interested looking game, so I got it. I am actually enjoying it, and it a pretty good game. However it also makes mepissat times, like just around a hour ago. Okay so I was role playing in one of a server. I pretty much started to get used to RP and enjoy, but god this server was awful.
First off, I never heard all talk becoming as much chaotic as this one in the server. People were yelling and cussing, and there would be 3 to 4 of them at once. Then for some reason one of the admin (who I already hated, because he kept shooting at me randomly, even through I didn't do anything wrong) frozen both me and another medic. I was underground at the time, looking for the other medic. So then I was transported to the surface, where I was unfrozen. I saw the other medic, who lost half of his life, so I went to heal him. Then I get kill by some prop, and respawn. And just when I started to move, I was kicked out from the server! Why?! I didn't do anything wrong. I was very helpful at healing people; some of them thank me, and even one gave me some money. I wasn't prop surfing, or spamming, or really breaking the rules. Well I am deafinitly not joining that server again, and in fact, I think I will take a break from GM.
Okay that the end of my rant lol.
But seriously I been through this a few times already, so yeah I am taking a break from GM. In the meantime, I am going to plan on getting Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. I am going to hopefully get it on friday.![]()
First impressions of Arkham Asylum.
Well here we go. I am like around 15% is the game, so I give my first impressions, and they are very positive. So after waiting for a little more then a hour of installing this game and updating Games for Windows Live (ugh), I finally playing what will probably be my favorite game of 09. So where should I start? Well one thing I really like is the setting. Rocksteady really did a very well job of making it feel like Batman. The place is dark and gritty like the batman world, and the graphics looks amazing even on high settings. Like when I go to the surface for the first time overlooking part of the island, I was seriously blown away. I have taken some pictures which I upload later, through without AA setting on they are going to look jagged.
So on to gameplay which is the most important part on a game IMO. It a 3D action game, that has a lot of stealth elements, and both work together very well. I also like detective mode, which makes things more interesting. There also gadgets of course.I only gotten three, and they are pretty good. I like that grapple one where you drag a enemy towards you, and is helpful against those enemies that have the two knives. Finally there also those Riddler's trophies and riddle, which will add some replay value for sure. I used to be worry that this game will get repetitive, but that fear is pretty much gone so far, as I really am enjoying this game.
The voice acting is very very good. I am glad they brought back some of the voice actors from the animated series, and they sound awesome in this game.
Challenge mode seems to be impressive. I only did one mode, plus the Gamestop exclusive one (which is great IMO). Shame the PC version doesn't have the joker challenge map one lol.
One last thing before I end my first impressions, is the part where you meet the Scarecrow. I am not going to spoil much, but that part with him is just creepy, and I sure there will be more moments with him. Right now I am heading into Arkham mansion.
So overall I am really loving this game.
Starting tonight I am going to Arkham Asylum.
Well one of my most hyped games this year has finally arrive on the PC, and I got it just a couple hours ago.

I am installing it now, and I can't wait to start playing it.
I will give my first impressions tomorrow.
