This album is a combination of disco and rock. It's not as good as Destroyer, Rock And Roll Over, Love Gun, or their debut album, you'll grow to like all the songs if you give it a chance. This album is more rock than the Unmasked album, which is pure disco pop.
This album contains Kiss's biggest hit single around the world, "I Was Made For Lovin' You," which actually hit #1 in the Netherlands. Some fans of the older stuff hated this song, but open-minded will grow to like it. The album also had another single and video, "Sure Know Something," which should've been a smash, in fact I like it better than "I Was Made For Lovin' You," but for some reason it wasn't. Believe it or not, my 2 favorite songs off this album are "Charisma" and Peter Criss' only contribution to this album, "Dirty Livin'." By the way, this album also includes a very good cover of the Rolling Stones' "2000 Man," which is sung by Ace Frehley.

This is probably Kiss's best album of the 80s. Lick It Up was great, too, but that albums a little more pop metal whereas this album is pure heavy metal. It's the heaviest KISS album ever and one of their best. The hit song off of this album is Gene Simmons' stadium anthem "I Love It Loud," which is a very cool song. It's one of the most popular songs in the Kiss catalogue because that's exactly how fans love it, Loud! But that's not even the best song on the album. The title track just makes you say "Wow!!! I've never heard Paul Stanley sing like that before." He sings it with so much unprecedented anger, and heavy drumming from Eric Carr also makes that song great. "Danger" is a faster, possibly even more ferocious song than the title track. Amazingly, the band never played that song live, making it one of the most underrated Kiss songs ever. "Rock And Roll Hell" is one of my favorites, supposedly written about Ace Frehley, who unfortunately did not contribute at all to this album despite the fact that his face is on the cover, and left the band soon after this album was released. "I Still Love You" is actually my favorite Kiss ballad of all time. It's very heartfelt, but still has the ferocity of the title track and "Danger" in the chorus. But my favorite song on the whole album is Gene Simmons' "War Machine." Excellent song, excellent lyrics, one of the best.

This is an amazing song. It's kinda hard to hear Scott Weiland's voice on this song, but that's what gives this song a Slithery feel. Magical verses, a magical chorus, and an amazing guitar solo from Slash, his best since "Sweet Child O' Mine," also make this song amazing. I just love the feel of this song. It's very slithery. One of the most original sounding songs ever.

This is a fantastic album. No matter what the grammy people say, this was the best album of 2004, not Green day's American Idiot. Velvet Revolver are more original than Green Day and are better at writing slow songs. The first single, "Slither" is the best song on the album, but it's certainly not the only great song. "Sucker Train Blues" is a fantastic way to kick off the album."Big Machine" and "Set Me Free" are also standout tracks. "Fall To Pieces" is a beautiful slow song."You Got No Right" is an even better slow song.
Heck, all the songs on this album are awesome, so you must buy it.

Well, Velvet Revolver is a very popular band, so it's hard to call them "underappreciated," but for some reason I don't know that many people that like them. Their album, Contraband, deserved the grammy that Green Day's American Idiot album won, for best rock album of the year. They are both great albums, but Velvet Revolver is better at writing slow songs and therefore should've won the award. Oh well. They are one of the most original sounding bands of all time. Their sound is...indescribable! I hope they come out with a new album soon.
