What do I do to fill the void?
I've come to the sad realization that while I'm at college, it is much easier to get distracted from your studies when you've got time consumers like Fable and The Sims 2 lying around (especially the Sims 2). So I had to make a hard choice: gaming merriment or good grades? I chose the latter naturally. My parents gave me a portable DVD player for my birthday, so I don't need my X-Box to watch DVDs with anymore and The Sims 2 is just simply addicting. So I had to send them both home until the holidays. Now it's really hard to come onto Gamespot and look at the messege boards and see people talking about great games and I know that I cannot play them right now. I guess it's a small sacrifice to make in the name of higher learning, but it still hurts. Still removing the games does not help the fact that I still have the TV and the internet to serve as distractions but I'm working on those. I know my room mate is very happy to have the annoying sounds that used to come from my computer and TV gone and my parents are happy because they know that I'm focusing on school work now. But my parents need a small warning: they will not be seeing much of me over Christmas.
