My thoughts on Final Fantasy Tactics A2

I'm so addicted to this game. @_@ The battles are very time consuming, but still fun as ever.

However, I still have a lot of complaints on the law system. Well, in Tactics Advanced, the law could be strict but it affected you AND your opponent. Now law only affects the player. It's true that you get a clan privilege now, but it makes it feel more and more like a simple handicap when the enemy breaks the rules and gets away with it. Clan privileges was a great idea, I wish it had been implemented in another way. Having multiple laws in effect at once was a downer, I admit, but in that game, you could use law cards to negate the laws, or even put laws that favor your party into effect. The only really crippling law I remember from the original was damage to animal. The laws themselves actually got a lot worse. Now there are laws saying you must move a selected number of tiles every turn. Even one. Laws that say you can't be next to an enemy unit, laws that say you can't MISS, laws that say you can't knock your enemy back (even if it's from a critical hit, which I have no control over. >.>; ) and so forth. I've had more than a few laws broken that weren't my fault.

And as everyone else says, the story is laughable. "Oh my God! I've been taken to a magical land and I'm under attack by monsters unexpectedly!" "Quick! Join my clan-- it's the only way to save you!" The plot in advance had interesting themes, at least. In A2, I'm not really compelled to advance the story at all. Seriously, I'm currently walking around with level 42 units while the main quests cap out at like level 25.

They could have done a lot more with wireless and wifi, but it's not really necessary for a good game. Personally I think it would have been easy to implement a wifi battling system. The levels could be set at fifty to keep it fair, like in pokemon.

Character development is still awesome though. Coming up with class combinations and seeing your units progress in general is really quite fun. Even though they take forever, the battles are really fun too. And that's what really matters.

Obligatory Friend Code Entry

Hai! I figured I could post my FCs in case somebody wanted to play. The only one I play competitively is Pokemon, everything else is just for fun. Haven't played hunters in forever so I know I'd be rusty.

Games I need to Finish...

Sigh... I have so many games I need to finish. This is why I don't get a 360. I want one, but I have to many games to finish already. So maybe keeping this list on my profile will get me into gear, eh? Darn you, procrastination! D:<

Nintendo DS

Lost in Blue- Got pretty far. Maybe 75% finished.

Advance Wars DS - Got to mission 23, and got stuck.

Yoshi's Island DS- Got four levels away from the final boss. Again, got stuck.

Tales of the Tempest- Stuck in the desert but found my way through. Now I need to find another translation guide.

LoZ- Phantom Hour Glass- I don't know why, I'm just not compelled to play this game. Only played for an hour.

AW: DR- Got a few missions in and stopped playing. It was good though.

Sonic Rush Adventures- Another game I only played for around an hour or so. ; . ;

Viewtiful Joe DS: Need to pick it up again.

Wii

Metroid Prime 3: To be honest, I'm a bit lost.

Trauma Center SO: Again, no problems with the game but only played for a few hours.

GC

LoZ WW: Quit when I had to search the ocean for 8 triforce pieces.

Skies of Arcadia Legends: I really enjoyed it, but for some reason just quit eventually.

By the way, this is why I appreciate short games now.

Account Update

Lately I've been working on building my Gamespot account. It's actually been pretty fun. I wrote two reviews today and added some Brawl screen shots to my gallery.

Some of them are pretty awesome in my opinion, and I only put my best up there, so go ahead and check 'em out if yer interested. Also worked on a blog header. Maybe once I'm level ten I'll upload some of my pokemon battles.

Super Luck

My old Gamecube (like the fourth one =/) finally stopped reading disks the other day. But it all worked out for the better this time! I went to the local Bookman's (a used book/electronic entertainment store) and found a game cube for $35. That's not a bad deal by itself, but it's especially good when you realize they sell gamecube controls for $15-20. But what's even better is I found a copy of MELEE inside! Which is great because my old one was so scratched it wouldn't play anymore! I'm so lucky! =D Also, my dad owes me half, because it's going in his room. ^.^

About Me

Hey, what's up? I'm a huge gamer, and an even bigger nintendo fan girl. It's my big hobbie. For me, video games can be an escape, a time waster, something to do with friends, and much more. They eat up pretty much all of my free time, for better or worse. In fact, I always used to dream of being a game designer. My dream job right now would be to be a character designer for Game Freak or Intelligent Systems. Infact, I even design my own pokemon. But for now, I'm just a courtesy clerk at a grocery store. But that's okay, I have lots of friends there and the pay is adequate for my current needs. Anyways, the NES was the first system I ever played, and the SNES was the first gaming system I ever owned. I've always loved Mario and pokemon, but it actually took a little while for me to get into Zelda and all the other nintendo games. Currently I have a DS and a Wii, and play them often. The game I play most is definately Pokemon Pearl, I've poured hundreds of hours into it. Even so, it's still my favorite DS game. My favorite genre is RPG/Strategy RPG. I used to be a big FF fan before the series started going down hill. (After ten, basically.) However, FFIX, FFVII, and FFX are still some of my favorite games of all time. I also enjoy the occasional 2D Platformer and fighting game. Well, I guess there isn't much more to say. Thanks for reading.
