Cottage n Concert
No, this isn't the second issue (hehe) of Xaded Opinion, but it is however, release that these next few days I won't be at home... Or near a computer. Going off to a friends cottage for a few days, then attending the Vans Warped Tour on this Saturday coming up. Should be great. So I shouldn't be here until about sunday-monday.
Have fun GameSpotters.

Video Violence
Following the recent Clinton babbling on's, video game violence has become a sensative subject all over the industry. As it has done before, the Grand Theft Auto series seems to have gotten itself in another pickle. GTA3 had it's go at politics as it was the first 3D landscape in the series, and therefore expanding the playground for violence enormously. Vice City had it's go as the world became bigger and the subjective content, well, more subjective. And then came GTA: San Andreas. The final installment in the series, and also the game that made a giant buzz. And then it was released, and all the gangster shoot-em-up sweetness came out. A killer soundtrack, plenty of swear words to shake a stick at, and above all, a huge, giant, enormous playing field to drive (or walk) around in. So, the buzz died. Or did it?
The third time's a charm. The third major release in the series (following Liberty City, I mean) and it's creating more trouble than it is profit. It has one heck of a stubborn woman following it's steps, trying to get the ESRB to switch the 17+ M rating to the AO rating. A rare rating indeed. It's not like I don't agree that the game has incredible amounts of blood, weapons, and straight out carnage, but I think any normal 17 year old can handle something like that, heck, I'm sure they've played worse, having lived through the Duke Nukem ages! To be honest, my 14 year old cousin plays that game, but whoops, he had his taken away after his mother found out about the controversy! Back to good old Porn-Feeding internet. Great reprocussions taking a game like GTA:SA away does.
But yet, Hilary seems to like the publicity she is getting from this! To be frank, so does rockstar. The good old Eminem Theory. Controver$y. I don't think Eminem would be as popular these days if it wasn't for his parent-bashing, wife-beating lyrical slaughter. The same thing kids said then, they'll say now. "Hey guys, this game is supposed to be really bad! Let's get it!" And knowing any parent that doesn't know a game for crap, they'll go out and buy it.
Any child that would take a game literally, and go outside and shoot people haven't had the proper TLC that they needed in the first place. A parent should realize when their child is muttering hateful things.
To finish this first installment off, I think I'll play some Hot Coffee, murder prostitutes, because an evil, polygonal demon told me to.
Xaded.
