Games on my Top Priority List
I keep a list of25 games, which I call my "Top Priority" list, on my PC. Right now, there are17 GBA games on it, and 8 Gamecube games. It showshow far my GCN collection has come. Also, since I'm focusing on the GBA again, I might try my hand at remaking my GBA review yet again. Since I can record using my Game Boy Player and my laptop (which hasa capture card), it's definitly worth looking at. It might even be quicker to make than my Gamecube review...
I'm even more seriously looking at selling my XBox 360. I'm going to have to find a new job soon, andwith somany games that I want for my collection... Some of them are pretty rare, too. I know Digimon Battle Spirit 1 and 2 is getting harder to find, and Super Mario Advance 4 is dang near impossible to gat locally. That's not even mentioning all of the other games that I don't even see locally, like Digimon Racing and Jazz Jackrabbit. I also want to get some of the GBA and GCN Player's Guides that I'm missing.
Thankfully, my buddy Discordman gave me a rather rare game (out of the blue, no less), Phantasy Star Collection on the GBA. I absolutely love the Phantasy Star series, and this game boosted that love. It's difficult when you don't have absolute control over your characters, but definitly fun to watch when you start the auto-battle system. Sometimes, I actually perfer it over absolute control.
*Sigh* Gotta love the GBA.
Gamecube Review!
I'm actually starting to get in the flow with my GameCube videoreview. It's starting to come together very nicely. As a result, though, I've noticed all of the games that I'm missing. Games like Pikmin 2, Nintendo Puzzle Collection (JP), Ikaruga, Odama, Kirby's Air Ride (I need to get it again), ZooCube, Cubivore... the list just keeps going. It'sstill surprising to see just how many awesome games the Gamecube has.
Of course, I'm missing a LOT of games on it's sister platform, the Game Boy Advance. Super Mario Advance 2 and 4, Sonic Advance 1 and 2, Golden Sun and GS: The Lost Age, Advance Wars 1 and 2, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Fire Emblem and FE: The Sacred Stones, Digimon Battle Spirit 1 and 2... Wow, there's a lot to choose from here, too. Need to get to work on my GBA collection again.
I'm tempted to sell off my XBox 360 and games. I have litterally not touched the console since it died on me a while back. It just sits there... idle. I don't even like most of the games that have come out for it. The only game I would keep would be Phantasy Star Universe, though I COULD just get it for the PC or PS2. Or I could get a PSP and buy Phantasy Star Portable. So many options...
Bah, I need to get back to work on my review. This is going to be fun.
Games... Game, Games, GAMES!
Yeah, I've been ignoring this place a little, but I'm slowly coming back again.
First of all, I take back all the bad things I said about Meta Gear Solid, because I nowhave "MGS: The Twin Snakes". and it rocks! I absolutely love it. It's much easier to control than the PS1 version, and much cleaner-looking. I really love the gameplay, too. It's much harder than I thought it would be, too. That's a good thing, though.
Next up, I'vere-beaten Pokémon LeafGreen, and re-started Pokémon Sapphire. I'm already on my way to the Weather Institute. However, I still have no drive to finish Pokémon Platinum. It's sad, really. That gamehad so much potential. I just hope HeartGold and SoulSilver don't take the same route.
Recently, I've gotten two other games: "Strider" and "Phantasy Star II" for the Genesis! I'm a huge Phantasy Star fan, and I'm glad that I've gotten another piece of the series. As for Strider... I've never played it, but thanks to a review by HappyConsoleGamer on YouTube, I'm definitly interested in it. I just need to hook up my Genesis, and I'll be set.
One other game I've been playing is Drill Dozer. It's such an awesome platformer, and I'm really loving it so far. In fact, it might even be the best platformer released late in theGBA's life. I love the art, and the gameplay is very addictive. Definitly a must-have title for the GBA.
Honestly, though, that's all I've been up to as far as gaming goes. I need to write a newreview sometime. Maybe I'll cover Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes when I finish it.
DeadBox 360
Yeah, my Xbox360 has died. Thankfully, it's still (barely) under warranty, so it'll be repaired for free. However, that gives me even more time to work on my Gamecube library.
I finally finished Tales of Symphonia, so I'm going to work on Phatnasy Star Online Episode1&2 until my 360 gets back. I may even continue working on it until it's done. I mean, it's an exellent game, and even though I need to complete Lost Odyssey, I really should try to focus on one game at a time. Phantasy Star Online seems like the best bet right now. Then, I can get Lost Odyssey out of the way.
I also need to get some more GBA and Gamecube games. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Digimon World 4, Pikmin 2, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance... You know, once I gat paid, I'm heading out to buy some more GCN games. GBA can wait just a little longer, though I might get Riviera: The Promised Land while I'm at it. Need a few more GCN memory cards, too. >_>;
Tales of Symphonia review will be posted as soon as I finish it. I've got a lot to write about, though. There are more reviews on the way after that, but right now, the ToS review is takingmost of my attention.
Well, it and another little project that I'm working on. I'm tryingto learn C#, a programming language, so that I can create a desktop game library tracker, similar to what Gamespot offers online. However, this one will be for offline use. I don't like keeping everything online, so I need something for my desktop, and since there's nothing that I like, I might as well make something myself.
*sigh* Time to get back to work. Later!
Gamecube and GBA, as usual...
Since my buddy Discordman is currently borrowing my XBox360 until his gets back from repair, I've been working on completing the Gamecube and GBAgames that I currently own.
I've beaten Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, and I'm working on Tales of Symphonia, but I want to work on another GCN game at the same time. I'm thinking of restarting Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, or possibly starting on Future Tactics: The Uprising. Not too sure, though, since I have so many good games to pick from. That's what I love abotu the Gamecube; plenty of great games, but not too many.
It's the same with the GBA, even though I don't have as many games for it. I have Tales of Phantasy and Scurge: Hive to work on, and I still have plenty to work on in my other games. I need to work on getting more games for it, too. I can't decide between getting Sonic Advance 1 and 2, or going all out and buying all four Super Mario Bros. Advance games. There's also Advance Wars 1 and 2, the Crash Bandicoot games, Fire Emblem series... The list is endless. So many good games came out for the system. It's a shame that Nintendo decided to be stupid and drop the Game Boy line after promising that the DS line would be a third pillar.
Oh well, I guess I don't have too much to talk about. Still, I miss seeing new games coming out for these two great systems. The Wii has been such a disappointment, and the DS has started to go downhill since the Wii was released. It's a shame, since I used to be a die-hard Nintendo fan. I'm still a fan of Pokémon and Metroid, but that's about it. Nintendo just seems to have hit a brick wall as far as I'm concerned. Thankfully, I have an XBox360 for next-gen gaming, but.. It makes me miss the old Nintendo, when they actually cared about the fans.
That's all I can bring myself to say. Later.
