(What's the Story) Morning Glory?
""
"(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" is one of those albums that will forever be considered the best ones in rock history, it's that album we unfortunately know won't happen again, not by the same artist or group. From beggining to end, we have ten tracks of pure rock'n'roll, each one of them wonderful in their unique way. Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall are already classics, but they're not at all everything this album has to offer. Oasis is known for simple yet wonderful melodies, it was pretty clear that they were talented in Definetly Maybe (by the way, these guys have great ideas for album titles, huh?) in songs like Live Forever, but if anyone had a doubt about them, it was all ceased in "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?". I could go on forever saying how much I love this records, but you have to listen it for yourself. It's pure rock as cool as it can be. I easily recommend this to anyone. Are they better than Coldplay? That's up to you, I'm a big fan of both bands. Denying this album's quality, however, is not an opinion. It's ignorance.

All the Right Reasons Nickelback
""
I don't understand why so many people hate Nickelback, they're so likeable, so easy to enjoy... Well, maybe that's the reason, it's not fair or right but whatever... All The Right Reasons, their latest album, is one of their greatest ones yet - and this is coming from the band who made Silver Side Up and Long Road, two albums I highly enjoy. The record begins with the energetic Follow You Home, one of the greatest songs in here, and is followed by another great and definetly catchy songs like the first single Photograph, Savin' Me, Far Away (these last two are absolutely awesome)... The latest track, Rockstar, isn't catchy as these others, but the lyrics are quite nice. I could say how much I like each one of the tracks, but it's easier to say the ones I deslike (but who knows, maybe they'll be my favorite in a near future, doesn't that always happen?): Animals, Someone That You're With and Side Of A Bullet, which makes 3 bad tracks and 8 great ones - isn't that enough reaosn to purchase a copy? What I enjoy about Nickelback is that they make true hard rock and are good in what they do, I just hope they keep providing us nice music for a lot of years. They're not not revolutionary, but hey, music isn't all about The Beatles, is it?

I wasn't familiar with System of a Down until I've listened to Mesmerize, and I was pleased. The reason I picked this one up is because of the song B.Y.O.B., which I thought was great. It doesn't surprise me that so many music fans hate this album, because if you look at it in a certain way, you can label this CD retarded/dumb - lyrics are definetly not good. If it wasn't for the great vocal work together with the instrumental which makes System of a Down unique, this would be one of the weakest albums of the year. Fortunately, it's one of the best. Some songs are flat-out bad, but songs like B.Y.O.B., Radio/Video, Violent Pornography and Cigaro, among others, make this CD worth your dollars. If you look at Mesmerize a little deeper, past the lyrics, you'll surely be mesmerized... or not. It depends on how much you want to enjoy it.

Every band is great, it's all a matter of taste or a certain amount of beer. Insane Clown Posse won't need any alcohol to be enjoyed, but it requires a different taste from usual. They are, overall, quite underrated. Press usually makes fun of ICP because of their make-up, lyrics or fans (called Juggalos) - everything is a reason to hate the "wicked clowns". As most rappers, they came out of nowhere, and instead of being another gangster rap group, they have decided to do something partially new, which they entitled horrorcore. It took some years for Shaggy 2 Dope (Joey Utsler) and Violent J (Joseph Bruce) to finally get their definitive style (which happened between The Ringmaster and The Riddle-Box, two of their seven sucessful Joker Cards, if you considered the last one, The Wraith, divided in Hell a.k.a. Hell's Pit and Heaven a.k.a. Shangri-La, two separate albums), but once they got it they became unique and kept gaining loyal fans ever since, kept their successful label going with good artists... They knew how to make their own little marketing with not much money. When will they be popular among everyone? Never, and that's one of the joys to be a fan of this group. Give them a listen, but don't expect anything jaw-dropping: Insane Clown Posse isn't about that, they're about making funny songs, showing a lot of love to their fans and sometimes being serious. As they put it: "for us, rap is not about keeping it real, is about keeping it fun".

Necro Hip-Hop

Necro is a good rapper, but his work is definetly not for everyone. While the instrumental part of his songs (beats), as mentioned, are usually top-notch, the same cannot be said about his lyrics. He's very homophobic, violent and his whole idea of fun lyrics gets old really fast if you're not as sick as he is. Pick his latest solo album, The Sexorcist, as an example - he's hired porn starts to fake orgasms screaming his name and recorded it on the CD. If he didn't rap like a horny, rebel-without-a-cause 15-year old, he would surely be one of the top rappers ever. Yes, we're talking about underground rap here (I hope I never turn on the TV and see a Necro video on MTV), and I find it great that he remains underground, but something a little more mature would be great. Bottom line: Dissing gays is retarded and talking about how you had sex with a prostitute is getting old faster than light speed, so refreshing his lyrical content a little and keep composing excelent beats is the way to go.
