Newsradio is neat-O.

Hello and welcome to my first blog.  Glad you could join me.  This post is dedicated to the Newsradio, and why the show is incredible.  I've just recently finished my Season 1 and 2 DVD's released roughly this time last year.  Granted the show is old, so some of the humor
is outdated due to this fact, i.e. wisecracks about this newfangled
thing called 'the internets', which is sometimes awkward.  Despite, the show definately ranks up there with Seinfeld for the comedy greats, and had
Phil Hartman not been tragically murdered, this show would have done even more fabled and wondrous things.

So in effect the show is awesome. For those that haven't seen it, basically it revolves around a mid
or early 90's radio station, and the crazy antics of it's employees. The
humor is top-notch, Phil Hartman is simply amazing, and you get to see the likes of a young, verile
Andy Dick as well as a feisty, pre-Fear Factor Joe Rogan.
The Boss (don't know his name but he was the sleazy record exec boss in
that movie Just Friends, as well as the stapler dude from Office Space), is also extremely funny and random in his own
right. Onscreen chemistry between the radio station employees is always
solid, and you definately get into each character's individual personalities and
quirks. So I leave you with that--now go-- watch,
love, believe. Season 3 is also out now and if I'm not mistaken Season 4 is coming shortly, both of which I will be purchasing, why I haven't gotten off my arse to pick up Season 3 yet I have no answer for.

End transmission.

Aside from his quirky, in-your-face persona, Busta's music has never really interested me much. However, based on the production credits and guest appearances, I felt that it was worth checking out. The album is pretty cohesive and has grown on me considerably since I first purchased it. The dre-produced tracks (Get You Some, Don't Get Carried Away, Legends of the Fall Off) are phenomenal, the beat on Don't Get Carried Away is insane and Nas really brings out his best as the guest on this track. Other stand-out song are Been Through the Storm with Stevie Wonder (who is pure butter on the track), and I Love My (Chick), produced by Will.I.Am. and featuring Kelis. All in all an album that has some real gems, however hard core busta fans might be disappointed by some of his seemingly simplified lyrical content, perhaps to conform to the ideologies of his new Aftermath home.

Army of the Pharaohs Hip-Hop
""
The Torture Papers is an album that has been '10 Years in the Making' according to frontman Vinnie Paz. A collection of various indie crews including members of Jedi Mind Tricks (minus Jus Allah, the BEST frickin part!), 7L and Esoteric, and Juju Mob, among others, Army of the Pharaohs is primarily a collection of angry men on a mission. With dark, unholy soundscapes courtesy of overseas producers, the album moves along violently, with apocalyptic, fallen-angel lyricism reminiscent of any Jedi Mind Tricks release. On the anthemic, uber-dope first track 'Battle Cry', 7L boasts over an Electric Light Orchestra sample 'I got more Hens in the hood than Pagan rituals.' Indeed, 7L. Indeed. To wrap up, if you are a fan of Greyskul, JMT and other Horror-core, this album is for you--'It's AOTP Daddy!'.

My Ghetto Report Card E-40
""
The newest release from the true Ambassador of the Bay, My Ghetto Report Card is a solid release from Vallejo's pride and joy E-40. Long-hailed as the inventor of scores of slang terms that have been co-opted by the greater rap world, E-40 finally gets his push into the mainstream with this release, due heavily to Lil' Jon production and the acclaim and heavy-rotation of his first single, "Tell Me When To Go" featuring Keak Da Sneak. This album acts as a kind of spearhead for the 'Hyphy Movement' of the Bay, fresh off the heels of the South's Crunk. 40's actual lyricism on this album is mediocre at best, and at times it seems as if he has lost some of the ultra-sped up off-kilter flow that made him famous, sticking to a slower, sizzurp-inspired delivery on a majority of the tracks. Production is sparse yet danceable, thanks to Rick Rock and Lil Jon, as well as his son Droop-E. Some 'slow jams' make their way onto this album, although one will quickly find that the lyrical content on these tracks is far from 'woo-worthy' material. Go Dumb!

Takk... Sigur Rós
""
The most recent release from Icelandic virtuosos Sigur Ros, Takk... is an album of epic beauty. In keeping aligned in their vein of downtempo/ethereal/soundtrack/emotional/post-rock/chillcore, Sigur Ros have sculpted a timeless musical soundscape. Tracks such as Glosili and Hoppipolla seem closer to full albums unto themselves than individual songs. One quickly forgets (or simply doesn't care) that the lyrics are entirely sung in Hopelandic (a derivation of the Icelandic language).

What the Game's Been Missing! Juelz Santana
""
This album is pretty much what you would expect from the Harlem Diplomat\'s second full length--crack references, party anthems, and plenty of swagger. The beats are hot throughout, as is generally the case with the primarily Heatmakerz-produced Dipset releases; most of the tracks are catchy and have a very \'Full\' sound. Standout tracks include Make It Work feat. Young Jeezy and Lil\' Wayne, Changes, and Mic Check (in which Rakim makes a guest video appearance). Definately a solid release for Diplomat fans and those who want a good beat without thinking too hard.
