at school i seem to have been invited to go paintballing with 19 other people (2 of which are teachers) which is kinda odd. ive never really been paintballing...

in 2 weeks time i will be posting my top 11 games (i couldnt make it 10 cause it was way to hard to choose). the games i will be posting are not just games i own. some, i dont even have but i think that they deserve a place in the top 11.

well wildact asked me to keep blogging and david actually reads this so i might as well keep going.

nothing interesting has really happened except that i got lost odyssey and splinter cell double agent, so ill spend my time typing about how good or bad they are. ill start with

lost odyssey:

well as soon as you look at the box youll find something is wrong. why? because the box is twice as fat as a normal dvd case. yes you heard right, the game is more than 1 disc. infact, its 4 discs. from the first cutscene you will know that the game is epic (which is to be expected since the "father of final fantasy" was the guy who made it). its more like a 4 disc movie rather than a game.

Setting:

well im a sucker for any JRPG and since this is probably the only one (blue dragon doesent count) i might be a bit biased. the game is set in a cross between past and future. while people are still using swords, they have armored cars and trains O_o i wont bother explaining the plot since i still dont know whats going on.

graphics:

well the game is run by the unreal 3 engine so its no ugly game. the characters are all very well animated and look great. spell effects look amazing and the enviroments are beautiful.

sound:

i will just say that the composer is the same guy who does all the final fantasy games...

final word:

dont listen to the reviews. 7.5 is utter trash. the game doesent do anything new, so what? RPG's arent supposed to do new things...

Splinter cell:

where do i start. i spent many hours of my life hiding in the shadows and holding my breath. sneaking behind people and sticking my knife in their hearts. rappeling down walls and hacking computers. yes, i spent alot of time playing chaos theory and pandora tomorrow. now i have finally played double agent, what do i have to say? its awesome.

setting:

normal tom clancy game. youll travel all over the globe and shot people...

graphics:

by todays standard, theyre nothing special, but i imagine that back when it came out it looked awesome.

sound:

you dont really notice it but the ambient sounds are really good.

final word:

i kinda rushed to get to this point, but people are probably wondering how this games compares to metal gear solid. in a way it is a better game, but it also falls short of its rival in a number of places.

both games are stealth action so they can be easily compared. id say splinter cell is a better stealth game. anyone who has played both games fully (Chaos theory and Snake eater or guns of the patriots) would probably agree that splinter cell is a much better stealth game. metal gear solid is more like ninja gaiden with guns (badass, cool, over the top).

in the graphics department i will advise you to look at MGS4 screens. the pictures speak for themselves.

Metal gear solid has always been known for its amazing music and after listening to the soundtrack, mgs takes it away hands down.

multiplayer is easy: splinter cell. its not simply red vs blue, one team is spies and one team is mercs. the spies play in a third person view like a normal SC game and the mercs play in first person view. this makes multiplayer simply amazing. i played metal gear online (in portable ops, MGS3) and i can honestly that while it is insane fun, splinter cell is more insane fun.

for a while now ive been spending a long time on system wars forums. listening to the fanboys harass and verbally kill eachother. all i can say now is: im done with it. im sick of listening to people go on about how the "360 is t3h_53x" and "T3H PL4Y5+4SH0N 0wnzz". i got my system to play games not to get into someones face and say: my console is better than yours. so if you want to talk to me about how one console i better than another or how game X on Y platform will boost sales by Z, go talk to a wall.

on another note i recently saw the gears of war 2 trailer and it looks like its shaping up to be an awesome game. we finally get to fight agaisnt a burmak (or however its spelt).

some people are doubtful that it will come out in november. think about it people. gears of war was intended at the very start to be a trilogy. the ending of gears 1 screams sequel. gears 2 has probably been in development ever since gears 1 was released (2006). so by november 08 it will have been 2 years since its been in development. pleanty of time to make an awesome game.

i also picked up call of duty 4 yesterday. its pretty good but the weapons are a tad unbalanced.

i still need to kit out my space marine commander...

since so much has happened i will make small notes as to what has happend:
