Being an avid gamer, I only heard about Amon Tobin when Ubisoft brought him on for one of the best games of all time, Spliner Cell Chaos Theory. When I first heard the stop and stutter rythm of "The Lighthouse" on the demo, I immediately fell in love with the game. I noticed that they had released an album separately, I was only mildly interested as I didn't own the game and the demo had gotten boring. Playing the full game on my mate's computer renewed my interest, and have since bought the album and I can certainly say it is worthy of high praise even if Tobin doesn't really innovate or differentiate on his other albums, but man are these tracks intense. Hypnotic ambience, relentless rythms and eeeeeeeerie bass lines and absolutely killer mixing combine to make an album worthy of any praise it receives. Go get it nooooooowwwwwww!!!!
