(I guess I'm the only one who's going to post a semi-praising review. Yay.)
This album is pretty poppy. Pop-punk mostly, some other little dabbles here and there, but mostly pop-punk.
The album is, in my opinion, very good. It has very catchy guitar riffs and the lyrics are pretty good. Especially when you get to Hold On, which has saved many of my friends from suicide.
Some may consider the album whining about different things (like how Benji/Joel's father left them when they were young), but I still like it. We all go through things in life, correct? Then what's wrong with singing about it?
It's not the best album, but it's still very good. You may want to read through some of the lyrics first to see if you'll view them as useless whining first.

VERY nice CD. It starts out in the beginning with three of the singles (awesome songs) and "Grouch", then kind of goes into pop-punk gems that vary nicely. Towards the end, you get "King for a Day" with utilizes trumpets, and does, in my opinion, very nicely. Then there's Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Prosthetic Head to finish it off. The album is a bit lengthy, so it gets repetitive at times (Haushinka and Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) especially).
The individual songs are very good as well. Redundant is about how, after being in a relationship for a long time, it sometimes gets repetitive. Scattered and Worry Rock are both, in a way, responses to Redundant, where you give up all you have. Hitchin' a Ride and All the Time are both about drugs, with All the Time being about quitting it. Platypus (I Hate You) has some pretty naughty lyrics, but it's a good listen whenever you're REALLY angry with someone. Last Ride In is an awesome instrumental, it's definitely something you could do homework to or something. Jinx/Haushinka is a good transitional set, though repetitive sometimes. King for a Day may be amusing for some people, because it's about a boy who dresses up in women's clothes.
I feel that Nimrod is a VERY good album, so if you like Green Day and you don't have this... *prepares pink rabid bunnies.*
