Need some DVD burning help!
I'm calling to anyone who can help me!
I have a movie file, .rmvb format, that I'd like to get onto a DVD. Also, I have a .mp4 file that I would like on a DVD.
How would I do this? Would I need to buy converting software or what?
I have PowerProducer 2 Gold, which doesn't recognize either of those types of files. I also have Nero StartSmart, which recognizes .mp4, but it only lets me create VCDs and SVCDs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
PS: Life is good.
Just finished my second year of college!
I'm here!
I have my own MP3 player now! An RCA Lyra... I like it.
Umm... my German-language musical obsession is still going strong! I've actually read the book Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and it is one of my favorites now! I've read it like 4 times in the past couple months. And planning to start it again once I finish a new book I got. Listening to the Rebecca original Vienna cast right now.
AND I'm trying to save money for a trip to Vienna this summer, where I will (hopefully) meet the cast! Uwe Kroeger, Wietske van Tongeren, Susan Rigvava-Dumas, Andre Bauer, Carsten Lepper, Kirsten Ibald...
School just started again. Poo. lol. I'm not ready for this! My Intro to Music Ed class, my gen eds (I had to pay $200 for 3 books for two classes!)
So yeah. Uhh... my life's pretty boring.
I'm not dead yet! (Monty Python? Anyone?)
I just had to write something today! I'm so happy! A friend on a musical forum just sent me a link to an English demo for a German musical!
And you guys are probably like, "So what? German musical? You're crazy." And I probably am. German-language musicals are my new obsession! There's a musical called Rebecca, based on the book by Daphne du Maurier. It's playing in Vienna right now, but someone posted audio clips on YouTube of the songs in English!
I own the German soundtrack, but I have no idea what they're saying! Can't find lyrics anywhere either! So hearing them in English (even though they're bound to differ slightly from the German lyrics) is a dream come true!
You want a life update too? I had my clarinet jury! I did well! I had to watch it during my lesson. That is weird! Watching yourself play! OH! I got a new clarinet! Buffet R-13! BEAUTIFUL! Umm... only two weeks of classes left! This week is dead week, and next week is finals! Only 6 work shifts left this semester!
My Thanksgiving was good! I like seeing my family. My dad's side, I mean. HUGE family. Crazy but fun!
Well, that's about all I can think of! Hope you all are having a good day!
Composition update! (And other updates)
We had our first football game! But we lost. 7-36? I don't remember what they had, but it was in the 30s.
My theory and aural skills classes got a little messy. My teacher for both those classes had emergency surgery, and so everything got messed up. So we had to move, get a new teacher, suddenly change teaching styles.
I came up with the best idea for my composition! I've found 3 or 4 more poems that I could use. And I thought, "Hey! This could be a multi-movement piece!" So it's going to have 4 or 5 different parts, and hopefully they're constrasting. I've got a little melody for the second one, so now I need to expand it. And add a cool bass part. And stuff. When I finally get the inspiration I need, this composition is going to rock. In that it will be mediocre, lol.
Okay, catch y'all later!
Marching band and whatnot
Friday:
Check-in day. I saw
Tygar for the first time in months! And I gave him a hug. It was great.
He cut his hair! It still looks good, but his long hair was the best.
And I got to see so many other people I haven't seen in a long time! It
was great. So later that day we had placement auditions. I got 4th
chair! Adele, Tygar, Kim, me! Mingling with the Wind Ensemble kids!
Adele said I did a really great job on my audition! Hopefully my
ensemble audition goes as well. We got our music that night and did a
music rehearsal.
Music:
"The Incredibles"
"Wedding Dance" - Klezmer-type woodwind feature
"Malaguena"
"Send in the Clowns"
Saturday:
Marching.
A grad student ran our stretches. We did breathing gym stuff... the
concept is great, but I still hate it. And he made us run laps! If I
wanted to effing run laps, I'd play sports! Argh. So it was pretty
much just basics that day. 8 am to 8 pm. Well, basics and music. With
breaks for lunch, dinner, and water.
Sunday:
My birthday. We didn't start until 1:30 pm because that morning was open for freshmen
to move into their permanent dorms. He made us run THREE laps around
the field. And I don't know exactly what happened, but I ended up
having something similar to an asthma attack. And I don't have asthma.
I remember... it felt like I was crying, but I wasn't. I was breathing
like I was crying, and I was close to crying, and I said some pretty
stupid things to Aaron Wacker when he walked me to the shade. What a
nice guy. So I couldn't slow my breathing down. I was so scared. Never
had anything like that happen to me, ever. My chest ended up hurting
after I could slow my breathing.
Monday:
We learned
Pre-Game! That was exciting. I walked the three laps, because I was so
scared. And that evening we learned the first 10 pages of our halftime
show, to The Incredibles. It was hard and sucky, but it will be good.
Another 8-8 practice. Afterwards, we had a movie night at Adele's.
Watched Anchorman. GREAT movie! Well, not great in the movie sense, but
it's hilarious!
Tuesday (aka today):
LAST DAY OF BAND CAMP!
NO RUNNING! WOOT! We worked on drill. Lunch was provided, and then we
were done until 4:30, when we would perform for the football team. It's
the only time they ever get to see our show. That was awesome. And our
shirts are so cool! I like them. So then there was a karaoke night at
Foundation! It was a lot lamer than last year's karaoke night, but it
was still pretty fun. I sang a song! The only one I really knew how to
sing. "I Knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden. Teresa was being crazy as
usual.
Anyway, that's my week. Tonight I have my ensemble audition, and then I'm going home for the weekend so that I can celebrate my birthday with my family for reals!
Classes start Monday. Blech.
