Obsolete game systems

I know a lot of you may still have these or think I am just out of my mind. I recently placed a bid on Ebay and ended up winning a Sega Game Gear. I know I already have a PSP and you may be thinking "why do you want one of those?" Well, I had a Game Gear when I was a kid and at the time it was the greatest. You could take your games with you. Well when I saw it I thought to myself "I gotta get one again." I love this thing. I also had a Sega Dreamcast years back. I regretted selling it everytime I saw one posted on Ebay. Well, I have one of those now as well. Actually, by the end of the day, I may have 2. My goal is to have 1 of every system and at least 1 cool game for these systems. I know this is nothing but I thought it was funny enough to share. Tell me what you think.

It's been a while, but thought I'd post a blog on here again. Enjoy!!!

Killzone 2 1.20 Patch Now Available

Guerrilla Games is ready to release its version 1.20 patch for Killzone 2. Already available for download in Europe and the US this 16MB update fixes all previously detailed issues.

Taken directly from Official PlayStation Forums, these issues consist of:

Boost -- We've identified and fixed the bug to do with the boost medal not being awarded. It will go into a patch we are working on at present, but there is a workaround in the mean time to get it. Simply ensure that you are the Game Creator rather than client and you'll be awarded it.

Network Errors/Honor Ranks -- We are also looking at fixing a good bunch of the network errors and are looking into the complaints about the Honor Ranks as well as a couple of other bits and pieces. We'll provide a list of fixes when we are close to releasing the patch.

Bots -- We're working on a permanent solution for the bots stat padding and have some internal solutions that we're going to work on implementing. We'll let you know what those are when we've got the patch together and the solution implemented. We will NOT be wiping ALL stats and padders will be looked at individually by the moderators.

www.kz.com -- www.killzone.com is being sorted out today to deal with the massive traffic it's been facing and hope to have some long-term solutions in place shortly. The stats are currently empty on the site and will be repopulated today.

Controller Issues -- We have not stopped looking into the complaints and will see what we can do about it. Any possible changes will have to be carefully implemented and tested before being deployed though.

Charge disarming -- We have identified the issue where sometimes the C4 charge in Search and Destroy will not disarm. Will be fixed with the next update.

Shotgun Aim Assist -- Investigating the problem and will patch it up.

Clan Games -- Sometimes the clan that does not turn up for a match is awarded the win under specific circumstances. Will be patched ASAP.

Battle Replay for Map 8 - Corinth Crossing -- The BR on www.killzone.com is not quite right and will be fixed soon.

Ignore list -- Was found not to be functioning correctly. Will be fixed in the next patch.

Crashes -- Crash when using Saboteur disguise in certain situations. Will be fixed in the next patch. Infrequent crash when trying to start a game with an empty game name. Will be fixed soon.

Medic/Assassination -- There is an issue with the Assassination target HUD icon displaying when playing as a Medic. Investigating and will be fixed.

inFamous Launching Worldwide in June (DEMO on the way)

You're currently looking at the box art for Sucker Punch's upcoming PS3 exclusive, inFamous. The cover, along with the release date (well -- month, at least), was revealed on the PlayStation Blog today. You'll be stepping into the electrified shoes of Cole McGrath at some point in June. We're not sure inFamous will be as successful as last June's major PS3 exclusive, but players will be able to try this one out before they buy, as a demo has already been confirmed.

The game's soundtrack has also been detailed recently on Music 4 Games. It will be a collaborative effort between Amon Tobin, Jim Dooley, Mel Wesson, Martin Tilman who, between them, have worked on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Pushing Daisies, Pirates of the Caribbean and Black Hawk Down. In order to produce a more urban, gritty sound, the composers will be creating music from real-life objects and materials found in urban environments. We're looking forward to seeing (and hearing) more as the release nears.

PlayFire Unveils Official PlayStation Trophy Cards

Joystiq reports:

We're not sure what's happening over at SCEE -- maybe there's something in the water -- but this is the second time it has managed to trump SCEA with regards to PlayStation.com features. Sure, Europeans have had to wait a little bit longer for Trophy integration but the result is so much better. What you see above are the official designs for the Trophy cards, which PlayFire.com has revealed to its members in conjunction with SCEE.

PlayFire took the bull by the horns when SCEA released its Trophy features on PlayStation.com and allowed users to sync their PlayFire cards with their Trophy info. It's not automatic, but it's a lot faster than adding them individually. These new official cards, however, will update automatically based on the Portal. We're not sure what the Portal is, but a Trophy card that updates automatically sounds great to us.

These Trophy cards will be available from eu.playstation.com (though you can use a PSN account from any region) at some point soon.

BioWare CEO talks PS3 development, MMOs

In an interview with Play magazine, BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka called the PlayStation 3 a really amazing platform to work on. He also said that BioWare might consider joining the growing MMO presence on PS3 if the studio could overcome some of the challenges with console interface design. However, that doesn't mean the company's current, PC-only MMO project, Star Wars: The Old Republic, would appear on PS3 sometime down the line; Muzyka says BioWare might explore other MMO games in the future.

For now, the EA-owned dev studio should probably focus on getting its first game on PS3 out the door, which happens to be the multi-platform Dragon Age: Origins. That title is expected to be released sometime later this year.

Microsoft gets timed exclusivity to COD4 map pack

This doesn't surprise me much but it's just sad to hear of IW taking money from MS so that 360 owners can get first dubs on the new maps. Here's the link.
