Happy X-mas!!!

It's amazing that after all this years working at retail, my Xmas spirit hasn't been crushed yet, and although today I was close to smash a laptop on a very stubborn costumer's head, as soon as I got to my neighboorhod's Ralphs for some last minute X-mas dinner shopping (mac and chesse anyone??, yay!) I recovered my Holliday spirit, and hence I did my shopping in minutes, since I know the employees were as eager as I was minutes before, to go home to their loved ones...

But the truth of the matter is is, we get so involved with the currents events outside of home, that we forget what's really important (and NO, Cartman is not HAM!!), being at peace with ourselves (no matter what religion, if any you profess) and with our family, being that by blood or by friendship (which a lot of times in HMO, are waaaay more realiable), because in the end, it's all you are going to take with you once your clock has ticked your last tick, sure money it's thight right now, but IT ALWAYS IS, unless you're a rich Heir (or Heiress), that's something it will always be a factor, but really, is $10,000.00 worth losing a limb? a lung? your health? how about a family member?, of course not, so in the end, you can obsess yourself with tons of crap that you don't need, it's Tivo really a breathing device?? Does Cable/Netflix/Dish/Wthvr worth starving?? Of couse not, but you get to depend on them simply because you grow an adiction to them, but honestly, in rare cases you can have a life without them (people in Hospitals or bedridden exempt, ok?, cool..)...

Hey, wasn't this supposed to be an X-mas greeting, of couse it is, and i'm simply delivering a message, or an advise if you will, Never stop enjoying the time you have with your loved ones, even when (or maybe even more when) things are very bad, or not so good, because like and old sage said "this too shall pass", but good memories last forever...

And that is TODAY more important to remember that whatever happened in your favorite show some seasons ago...

And being a Tv adicct, I think I know what I'm talking about ...

And with that I drink to your health and wish you a Merry X-mas to you and your family....

e- life vs real life

Worry not, this is not a bash against online poeple or anything, I just came to realize that some how I have neglected my blogs and reviews lately, and no matter how I try Iīve overflow the Tivo with stuff that I can't seem to have time to watch (let alone review)... And I think it's a cool thing, sure things sucks everynow and then, and even more now that I'm overflowing with overdue bills and reduced working hours, but there's one thing that so far I can bank on, My family.

I received a couple of emails and I took some days off and read a lot, and I have learned to complaint a lot less and count my blessings a lot more... Beacuse in the end, life, UNLIKE TV, has only ONE run, no dvd release, no sindication, no reruns or re-edit, no rewind, (although mine has TONS of Happy Flashbacks and last seasons recaps, ha,ha) or Do Overs.

So just like I had to adjust to leave tons of friends and family when I moved out from my hometown and started to live in L.A., (which depending in what part you live, it can be a great place, despite what kind of Bi..h Jungle TV dramas love to picture), and start a Family Clan of my own, I have to learn to let go and be where I'm needed, and not where I want to be needed...

Some stuff can wait, and some can't, some things are timeless and some are TIMED, and in some part thatīs why I sleep so little, it's only after 11 pm when i can have time to myself, (family it's first) therefore being online until 3 am, it's taking it's toll on the body (not to mention the big circles under the eyes), I think I'll retake that draft I've been writing for months now (no, not a Fanfict, I do write my own stuff), because after all, all that yaking about somebody else's work ain't going to make mine published, now is it?... I gotta punch the keys on my stuff and less on someone's else, before time it's up, after all, like I said we all got only ONE Run...

A Long Overdue Update:

Hello everyone, I'm finally back to blogging, sorry to keep you disconneted for soo long, turns out , I love to talk and exchange opinions with everybody, but via internet and blogs aren't sorta my thing, it feels sorta impersonal, at least to me, things on the real world are kinda hard, but after seeing that some people lost everything on the last hurricane Ike, (and I got a friend that was there AFTER having been on Katrina), I have learned to keep my mouth shut and stop complaining about the things that actually do not matter that much and I have overrated or so long, for example; I have TONS of bills to pay, but at least I still have a Job, I might not have money to burn, but at least, my family and I are Healthy, and even when my home it's a rented and modest one, I have a nice place to rest, so now that I have some days off, I'll focus my energies and frustrations to who deserved them... the lousy TV shows that are on the screen this season (here's looking at you Smallville... Ours it's a Love-hate relationships, I guess) and the great ones are saving the days... I hope you enjoy reading my reviews as much as I love to write them, see ya soon!!!

Yes, still here!!!!

Hello to everybody, sorry if you felt I left you (oyu ain't that lucky yet), the reason of my absence was due to an oportunity at going back to full time on my job, but it meant to go a litttle bit further branch of my company, so far so good and hopely thing will start to look up.

The secon reason it was more due to lazyness, and to the fact that since a lot of shows have finished their seasons, I'm watching more movies and reading books, and actually going to the movie theaters a lot more (you can check my stuff on Movietome) and of course taking care of my family (I just Love those little rascals of mine) and anoiding hang overs by staying drunk...Just Kidding, some.

Well anyway, I just wanted to say hi! and soon I will catch up with some missing reviews (Fear Itself it's one on my to do list) and get back to the vice of the tube.

Cheers!!

Smallville Rant

Warning: Like a previous rant, this pretty much a copy/paste part of a review.... I just did it again because i feel the need to rant it more...You were warned....

...From my "Descent" episode of Smallville's review...

Finally we see the setting of thing to come, namely Clark and Lex being mortal enemies.... In case anybody forgot... Clark and Lex aren't mortal enemies: It's SUPERMAN and Lex... and YES!! There's a Difference!!!

Lex Luthor always tries to kill or submit Superman, but Clark Kent is not more that a reporter to him, a nosy one, but not as much as Louis Lane and not so dangerous, if Clark were his enemy (or knew that Superman was in fact, him) he would have Clark killed or used his loved ones against him, as he has done against Superman....

Besides the fact that the series has taking too much years out of the Superman mistery, and that pretty much every single person in Superman's future is already shown on the show, it's beyond me how are we supossed to believe that NOBODY (specially Lex and Louis) will conect the dots between Superman and Clark Kent, since he won't change that much in whatever years the show's creator are going to set for the mandatory absence of Clark's before Superman's first appearance, it will take more than a fancy new haircut and glasses (not to mention he pretty much just wears RED and BLUE all the time) to fool those who were and will be so close to the Man of Steel...

Now, I know it would seem I am a hater of the show, many I set the record straight... I am not, but I'm more fan of the tru Superman Legacy, thus I have try to forgive the obvious mistakes of the series for the fun of it, but since the series has been too long on the air and we know the ideas arent flowing that good anymore, and good nice series conclusion should be on the horizon soon, before it get Cancelled due to lack of viewer's interest and thus giving it a mediocre ending (if not a sudden one) to a series that brought us a legendary icon back on the television....

Done!!!

Here I am just to tell you that my self-imposed catcher up Lost marathon it's done, I justfinished "Meet Kevin Jonhson" and since I pretty much saw 6-8 episodes per day (one perk of being in a part-time job season) I am ready for the remaining episodes of this season, the show it's one of the best written i've seen so far, but I gotta agree with ome other fans that the last episodes have going a little bit donwhill, which it's to be expected after two very good seasons, hope they writers get their second wind soon and go back to full noth, my concerns/complaints with the most recent episodes are the chances in Locke's character, I thought after the death of Mr. Eko he would be regainig his obi-wan/zed master self.... but so far that's not happening, Charlie's sacrifice was painful but it was meant to happen, although we haven't see the conclusion of our fav scotsman's vision, Michael it's back... it's that a good thing??? and we are pretty much back to square one on the love triangle (more of a rectangle by now) of Jack, kate and Sawyer, I still think Anna Lucia was a cool character but agree that once she served her porpouse it was going to drag things, just like Eko... So where are the Others now? and when are we gonna know what's that Lost-Zilla thing?, and when are we going to see it again, seems like in the most recent storylines the writers are forgetting about the whole mistyc thing of the island and more interested on confusing us with a lot of betrayals/suspicions plots, what's that Jacob in the end for that matter? and let's not even get started on the events that show a post-rescue group with their lifes pretty much going down hill by the second... I for one got hooked (and seriously overdosed) on this show, just waiting to see what happens next, I going to take some days off the tube and maybe later start on another marathon...something simple....how about "Dark Shadows"???

lost season 3

I just saw the first minutes of season 3 of lost (yes, the marathon continues...) and the first thought it's Whaa???? too bad that disk 2 and 3 will get home in 2 days (give or take) I guess Iīll have to swing by the video store, or suffer Lost Withdrawal.... but at least I could get some sleep.... Choices, Choices... the goal it's to catch up before season 4 ends so I can review it time, at this rate i might make it, just let's hope sanity hasn't left me yet...

Lost marathon update

Hello again, I just finished the first season of "Lost", grat series, I indeed was missing out, too many questions, so many episodes, too little time, I still am NOT reading any spoilers, so I gotta find out how things turn out eventually.

I totally get why Staephen King was so pleased with this series, they way the episodes unfold, with the flashback sequences to explaing the characters back-ground aare pretty similar to the way he writes the big books, (It, The Stand, Desperation, not to mention the Dark Tower), and know we know that the tream behind "Lost" are actually going to take a try to the "Dark Tower" books (God Bless ya boys, and good luck with that....that's pretty much a tall order), but for the life of m, as far i go I can't tell why so many people (in chat rooms and websites posts, mostly) compare the series or make references to the Dark Tower, I guess it's hard to understand without the spoilers being lid out, so I'll have to wait...

Finally...Lost

It's been ages since the Show "Lost" arrived and took everyone by surprise, I was eager to watch it since it was from the creators of "Alias" one of my favorites show for the earlier season....

Some years later, FINALLY I get to start watching the show....

It was lack of interest?? No, I just never had the chance of catching the show, this was previous my Tivo days (my tv adiction it's so much easy since I got it) and in the first season the schedule of the shows were so God-damn erratic, programing the vcr just didn't cut it (yes, I still own and use a VCR!!!, Beta to boot, Nah that was a joke) so since I missed the first 3 episodes, I decided to catch the train when th dvd were released, before season two started....

I can't remeber for the life of me what happened. but in a flash they are showing previews of season 3 on tv, and I still haven't even started the VERY FIRST episode!!!

So, now terribly way behind you all, I finally started my LOST marathon, Thank You NEtflix!!!! I finished disk one and I can see why every fan got hooked, It's just that great, for years I have avoided successfully any spoilers and sypnosis, so I am pretty oblivious to anything that the rest of you must have been figured it out by now.... but that's the way i want it for now, let's see if I can catch up before the series end.

I don't think I'll be posting any reviews about it since they will sooo late and I guess my predictions would be very, very weak, but if anyone out ther want to share his/her thoughts with yours truly, i'll more than happy to respond....

...After this I'll try to start up with Battle star Galactica or Stargate, I still haven't made my mind....

Maybe some Star Trek to be ready for the J.J. Abrahams remake.....

The Smallville mid-season finale...and some thoughts

Beware!!! The following it's pretty much a Copy/paste extended version on my review (of sorts) of Smallville episode "Veritas", Yeah, I'm lazy like that, and some more thoughts, so don't nag me about it, I warned you....

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far way, ok, so it ain't nothing like that but you get the idea, some months ago the WGA were on strike and this series was pretty much unsure how things were about to turn out, hence the writers (or someone else, who knows?)decided to have an episode full of stuff, so in case we would starve of new episodes of Smallville, we could at least have a great lasting flavor until the new piece arrived, which it's funny since while that was a great strategy for a chewing gum, the episode of an actual kriptonite-laced chewing gum wasn't that great idea at all, it actually SUCKED so hard I refuse to make a review of it... Enough said.

But as we all know, the Wga strike came to an end and so did our tv jonesin'... Thank you Jesus!!!

And this episode had pretty much everything we were promised...except for Clark flying...Oh, well, the contrary would be a surprise.

I could go on about the whole episode, but being the fact that they are already more than 40 reviews about it, I rather just tell you, the episode was everything we see on the season finales cliffhangers, and it actually did a BETTER JOB than the terrible re-write of the Pre-WGA strike's second season of HEROES, which i really, really, really has me wishing for an "it was all a dream, Bobby it's in the shower" thing, (search on wikipedia "Dallas" the series if you are one of the younger audiences so you can get the reference)I could actually forgive the writers if they pull that one off and retake the Heroes original direction on the second season...

Ok, so there, it turns out this it's NOT an season finale, so, let's see if we can avoid to get the same lame conclusion we get every season premiere, I'm not setting my hopes too high this time, South Park already crushed me on those crappy first episodes...

The only thing we know for sure, Either Clark learns to fly and saves Lionel from a sudden departure, or we got one less Luthor on the series, and although this series hasn't pulled the old "it was a dream" thing, they could do it now, since they pretty much destroyed the whole Superman mythology by adding and padding beyond belief one of my favorites superhero storylines...It actually makes me feel thankfull that they have not involved Bruce Wayne and Wonder Woman at all...

The moment of truth....

I know this should be on it's respective review section, but chances are, you wouldn't read it.... So I rather post it here, where I KNOW you won't read it....ha, ha.

So, anyone who has read my reviews pretty much know I don't really like reallity t.v., for maybe exceptions of "fear factor" and "the Moment of truth" which I consider on the Game Show category, not so much on the "Fakeallity", although they are kinda close...

For starters; You can say what you want, and maybe you think of yourself of some kinda daredevil or a very honest person, but the thing is, you are competing against a frigging lie detector and yourself, there's a line to be drawn when you could do pretty much anything for money, because evenb though I know there supposed to by ways to beat the Lie detector, I doubt just anyone can do it....

This show really got me hooked, I mean, I can't stand the crap in jerry Springer, I can say I only tried to watch it three times, and that were three too many (even with the tequila shots) but watching this people pretty much confessing their guts over the money (although most of them for valid reasons of need an not just greed) and you can bet that no matter the outcome, they will have to face their loved once after the show, NOW That`s the Scary Part.... Let alone the fact that some of them actually lost everything they had earn on the show....Now that just Sucks!!!

just let me say for the record that i consider myself an pretty much honest person, the people around me know better than actually ask some stuff, for they know that I will anwser as truthfully as I can, and sometimes, the truth ain't pretty,, So the thought of me on the show, on the hot seat, that's... creepy, we all have secrets and skeletons in our closets, but another thing is when you keep other people's secrets.... that would be difficult to keep from a lie detector and on the other hand you just gotta answer....

So I raise my beer to those who did have the courage to get on the hot seat and walk away with the money...I whish the money was worth the later struggle with their loved ones, although it was clear that some answers will actually help some to have an actually better relationships with their loved ones, and also i whish well to those who thought that were smarter than the lie detector and lost everything, not to mention the bruise thay must have cause on their relationships...

Iīm eagerly awaiting for the next season...

Cheers!!

Series sugestion....

Being that Southpark, Simpsons, American Dad! and other serie have paid homage to the Dungeons and Dragons genre, I wonder why hasn't any studio released a series of that genre, being serious or a comic one, I'm sure that there's more than a dozen capable writers for it, let alone the ones we know, (Parker/Stone, Groeing, McFarlene) and we know for a fact that there's an audience for it, as any Manga/anime Fan can tell you, there's a lot of room for a SouthPark/Simpsons D&D series, and proff of that it's that Futurama had a good run, so did Tripping the Rift, so what's the hold up?? If a series done for Sci-fi could work, I think a Fantasy genre could have a good shot too.

Just A Thought.

South Park Marathon

I'm sure a lot of us are expecting eagerly the new season of south park, and of course I'm sure we are currently watching the marathons on comedy central...

Which brings me to the question...

How can you tell this show it's great (or at least your thing)??

1- Is because you bought every single item of merchandising, including the polka dots briefs with the series logo and you even post the photos on your "my space" page??

No, you could have shoplifted and that doesn't mean you're a fan, you could be just Bi curious, like Butters

2- Is because although you like to think of yourself as an P.C. person (I am talking about attitude, not computers, please note) you enjoy racist, crude humor???

No, you could be from Texas.... just kidding

3- Is it because you don't miss a single show??

No, thanx to You tube, mininova and Tivo that's just easy, evryone can do it.

Itīs simply because even when you have seen the series entirely several times, you own the dvds (original or "backed up" ) and even have episodes on your computer risking to be fired form your office by doing so, and watch the episodes on your Ipod while jogging on the gym instead of oogling your females gymmates (well, your girlfriend being at your side could be another POWERFUL reason for that)....

YOU STILL watch the episodes on t.v. with commercial breaks and all....

Re-runs? what's that?? this episode it's new (helps having short term memory loss)

Although this theory can be proved on any single show you like. one thing it's Clear:

South Park Rules!!!

Enjoy the new season and catch the reviews!!!

trying to make a comeback....

Hello Again:

So it been almost two months on the not-so new 2008, hope you guys and girls have been doing your resolutions so far, Iīve been trying to comeback to my old activies that were delayed/suspended due the holidays, hence the nasty cold that got a hold of me for the last half of last month, but still, the proyect itīs back on track (get to 190 pounds -only 14 more to go- and keep the blogs and reviews up to date).

Surely you notice (ha, ha, as if someone itīs reading this, good one) I didnīt post a review on episode 3 of the terminator series and the Smallville episode of a couple of week ago, My Bad, no excuses, buuuuut, the first one is pending thanx to some down time on my area for cable (THX A LOT TIME WARNER) and the second due a crash on my system JUST as I was about to post the review on line,(HI IĻNOT A MAC....) and I was really tired and didnīt have the strenght to start over, sorry, Iīll try to fill them up on the coming days (just let me mininova them), but at least, let me try to compensate you with the current ones, and I thank you again for your feed back, I know you already read tons of reviews and still, hang around for one more, now thatīs touching.....in a good way.ha, ha

About Heath....

First off, my deep respects and regards to his family:

On the on, I am not writting this just to be on the "hot" topic on hand, I have watched several movies of Heat and always found him a very talented actor, I was actually glad when I heard he was taking the Joker role, and thought he was the perfect nemesis to Bale, another actor that I considered a real talent on the rising.

As for the circustansces of his death, we are still not clear, and I'm sure whatever explaination we get, there won't be any that will satisfy everyone, but then again, whose Death does? All I can say it's we look at celebrities and forget that in the end they're humans just like us, normal, weird, whatever, can't say what kind of person he was, but one thing it's for sure, we, the viewers have lost a great preformer, and on these days when we get no more than pretty faces and tabloid fooders, a great talent like Heath are rare and unfortunately a lot of times dont' last long.

So rest in peace, Good knight, May the journey beyond bring you new adventues.

here again:

So i'm sure you guys are up to date on the whole WGA strike, just as shows are getting "in Hiatus" due to the strike, people getting laid-off, and "fakeality tv" getting more and more on the media, now the Golden Globes thing reduced toa weather forecast (I actually never watch the thing, just read the winner the latter day, so that I won't miss) and now hoping the Oscar (that I DO watch) awards don't suffer the same fate (hey, that's my betting night!) to me the whole thing sucks, but I still support the writers, so like most of us, i just try to make the best of this, I got stocked on dvd's like you won't believe, and although my job still have the same extreme workshift I'll try to take a marathon on several series just to catch up with a lot of guys, believe it or not I never had watched LOST, not that I didn't want to, I just never had the chance (I just my tivo6 months ago) and I KNOW i have miss out on something good, so don't worry I'll catch up and star giving you new reviews.... How soon, time will tell, let's hope you guys gimme your feed back as you have done so far... So here's to you and the writers (open can of beer) and make the best of it until we get our shows back on track!!!
