Happy X-mas!!!

It's amazing that after all this years working at retail, my Xmas spirit hasn't been crushed yet, and although today I was close to smash a laptop on a very stubborn costumer's head, as soon as I got to my neighboorhod's Ralphs for some last minute X-mas dinner shopping (mac and chesse anyone??, yay!) I recovered my Holliday spirit, and hence I did my shopping in minutes, since I know the employees were as eager as I was minutes before, to go home to their loved ones...

But the truth of the matter is is, we get so involved with the currents events outside of home, that we forget what's really important (and NO, Cartman is not HAM!!), being at peace with ourselves (no matter what religion, if any you profess) and with our family, being that by blood or by friendship (which a lot of times in HMO, are waaaay more realiable), because in the end, it's all you are going to take with you once your clock has ticked your last tick, sure money it's thight right now, but IT ALWAYS IS, unless you're a rich Heir (or Heiress), that's something it will always be a factor, but really, is $10,000.00 worth losing a limb? a lung? your health? how about a family member?, of course not, so in the end, you can obsess yourself with tons of crap that you don't need, it's Tivo really a breathing device?? Does Cable/Netflix/Dish/Wthvr worth starving?? Of couse not, but you get to depend on them simply because you grow an adiction to them, but honestly, in rare cases you can have a life without them (people in Hospitals or bedridden exempt, ok?, cool..)...

Hey, wasn't this supposed to be an X-mas greeting, of couse it is, and i'm simply delivering a message, or an advise if you will, Never stop enjoying the time you have with your loved ones, even when (or maybe even more when) things are very bad, or not so good, because like and old sage said "this too shall pass", but good memories last forever...

And that is TODAY more important to remember that whatever happened in your favorite show some seasons ago...

And being a Tv adicct, I think I know what I'm talking about ...

And with that I drink to your health and wish you a Merry X-mas to you and your family....

e- life vs real life

Worry not, this is not a bash against online poeple or anything, I just came to realize that some how I have neglected my blogs and reviews lately, and no matter how I try Iīve overflow the Tivo with stuff that I can't seem to have time to watch (let alone review)... And I think it's a cool thing, sure things sucks everynow and then, and even more now that I'm overflowing with overdue bills and reduced working hours, but there's one thing that so far I can bank on, My family.

I received a couple of emails and I took some days off and read a lot, and I have learned to complaint a lot less and count my blessings a lot more... Beacuse in the end, life, UNLIKE TV, has only ONE run, no dvd release, no sindication, no reruns or re-edit, no rewind, (although mine has TONS of Happy Flashbacks and last seasons recaps, ha,ha) or Do Overs.

So just like I had to adjust to leave tons of friends and family when I moved out from my hometown and started to live in L.A., (which depending in what part you live, it can be a great place, despite what kind of Bi..h Jungle TV dramas love to picture), and start a Family Clan of my own, I have to learn to let go and be where I'm needed, and not where I want to be needed...

Some stuff can wait, and some can't, some things are timeless and some are TIMED, and in some part thatīs why I sleep so little, it's only after 11 pm when i can have time to myself, (family it's first) therefore being online until 3 am, it's taking it's toll on the body (not to mention the big circles under the eyes), I think I'll retake that draft I've been writing for months now (no, not a Fanfict, I do write my own stuff), because after all, all that yaking about somebody else's work ain't going to make mine published, now is it?... I gotta punch the keys on my stuff and less on someone's else, before time it's up, after all, like I said we all got only ONE Run...

A Long Overdue Update:

Hello everyone, I'm finally back to blogging, sorry to keep you disconneted for soo long, turns out , I love to talk and exchange opinions with everybody, but via internet and blogs aren't sorta my thing, it feels sorta impersonal, at least to me, things on the real world are kinda hard, but after seeing that some people lost everything on the last hurricane Ike, (and I got a friend that was there AFTER having been on Katrina), I have learned to keep my mouth shut and stop complaining about the things that actually do not matter that much and I have overrated or so long, for example; I have TONS of bills to pay, but at least I still have a Job, I might not have money to burn, but at least, my family and I are Healthy, and even when my home it's a rented and modest one, I have a nice place to rest, so now that I have some days off, I'll focus my energies and frustrations to who deserved them... the lousy TV shows that are on the screen this season (here's looking at you Smallville... Ours it's a Love-hate relationships, I guess) and the great ones are saving the days... I hope you enjoy reading my reviews as much as I love to write them, see ya soon!!!

Yes, still here!!!!

Hello to everybody, sorry if you felt I left you (oyu ain't that lucky yet), the reason of my absence was due to an oportunity at going back to full time on my job, but it meant to go a litttle bit further branch of my company, so far so good and hopely thing will start to look up.

The secon reason it was more due to lazyness, and to the fact that since a lot of shows have finished their seasons, I'm watching more movies and reading books, and actually going to the movie theaters a lot more (you can check my stuff on Movietome) and of course taking care of my family (I just Love those little rascals of mine) and anoiding hang overs by staying drunk...Just Kidding, some.

Well anyway, I just wanted to say hi! and soon I will catch up with some missing reviews (Fear Itself it's one on my to do list) and get back to the vice of the tube.

Cheers!!

Smallville Rant

Warning: Like a previous rant, this pretty much a copy/paste part of a review.... I just did it again because i feel the need to rant it more...You were warned....

...From my "Descent" episode of Smallville's review...

Finally we see the setting of thing to come, namely Clark and Lex being mortal enemies.... In case anybody forgot... Clark and Lex aren't mortal enemies: It's SUPERMAN and Lex... and YES!! There's a Difference!!!

Lex Luthor always tries to kill or submit Superman, but Clark Kent is not more that a reporter to him, a nosy one, but not as much as Louis Lane and not so dangerous, if Clark were his enemy (or knew that Superman was in fact, him) he would have Clark killed or used his loved ones against him, as he has done against Superman....

Besides the fact that the series has taking too much years out of the Superman mistery, and that pretty much every single person in Superman's future is already shown on the show, it's beyond me how are we supossed to believe that NOBODY (specially Lex and Louis) will conect the dots between Superman and Clark Kent, since he won't change that much in whatever years the show's creator are going to set for the mandatory absence of Clark's before Superman's first appearance, it will take more than a fancy new haircut and glasses (not to mention he pretty much just wears RED and BLUE all the time) to fool those who were and will be so close to the Man of Steel...

Now, I know it would seem I am a hater of the show, many I set the record straight... I am not, but I'm more fan of the tru Superman Legacy, thus I have try to forgive the obvious mistakes of the series for the fun of it, but since the series has been too long on the air and we know the ideas arent flowing that good anymore, and good nice series conclusion should be on the horizon soon, before it get Cancelled due to lack of viewer's interest and thus giving it a mediocre ending (if not a sudden one) to a series that brought us a legendary icon back on the television....

I like Horror, I love information Society, so I expected this album to kick ass, instead I kicked my cd player, (don't worry it's better now, in cd player's heaven. I am fan of the Soul Reaver series, and i was surprised to see Kurt Valaken (or Harland, if you prefer)was the composer of the music in the game, I had lost track of my favorite band (long story) so after years of searching for new or rare material from them I finally found a clue, i the box of this playstation game, after devouring the info in Kurt's website, I decide to listen to this album, which he wrote by himself, being now the only member of the band (how that works again?). Nothing could've prepared me for this, not even the samplers in Kurt's website.

The theme was Dark, and I don't judge a book by the cover, so don't start with me on the cd cover... but while I like goth music (thanks to an ex-girlfriend)and alternative stuff like Nitzer ebb and ministry, this album just wasn't for me, let alone that I couldn't really classify it as an Information Society Album, it's just Kurt's vision, and for that I respect him, but using the name of the band in a solo project just didn't click.

A lot of the songs are too long, and are kinda depressing... let's just say that some 5 years ago It would've drive me to suicide... well, not really, but you get the idea. and I'm sure Casie (my ex) would have love that, i sent her a copy and haven't heard from her again.

I really tried to like this album, and I have listened at least 3 times for it, but like I said before "hack" wasn't for everyone, so maybe "don't be afraid" just wasn't for me....

Now, this album isn't for everyone, not even if you are a fan of techno, I should know, I was there, a lot of the fans of the first album were disappointed, and mainly the reason was the excess of weird samplers and not being so radio-friendly as the first album was. And I think that's why I liked even better, the vocals (both front and back up) were gret and the lyrics were to my taste a lot deeper, without being dramatic or to the point of suicidal notes.ht artework was somehow a mix of The Road Warrior vs. Geek world with a dose of acid, (the right kind)and showed us that even the band didn't take themselves too serious, they are just to make music and let the samplers do the talking, "Think" was just as great as "Running" in the first album, and has been like a anthem to me. "mirrorshades" was a funky tune just to cruise around, while for those without words for a heartbreak "Slipping away" could do the trick. while some songs can bore some other people and even make them push the "skip" button on their cd player, the material it's a mixed bag, and like such, it work depending the mood you're in. I could talk about all the songs and samplers, but I think It's better to take the trip instead of reading about it, so if you're in to techno, check this one out, it's an old one, but also a timeless one.

About Me

I rather see a bad new movie OR sequel than another Remake.. I love movies even more than tv, an almost at the same level than music, for me, very few things in life are better than gather around my family or friends to watch a film, although very often I find myself at Dawn finishing my self imposed cinema marathons, mostly horror or sci-fi,(my two favorite genres), but I enjoy almost any genre of film... So here I am, just to share my two cents about one of my favorite arts and to be enlightened by my fellow cinema fans and masters... See you at the Trailer reel!!!
