Broken 360

So my 360 has been messed up for a while now. The laser was screwing up a ton and then the disk drive straight up wouldnt open. So I gave Microsoft a call about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Finally on tuesday I realized that it shouldve been here so I called them back and the woman said they never put a label with the box so it wasnt sent. X_X But anyways I got my box today so I will probably send it out tomorrow and Ill finally have a working 360 back wooo. I was also wondering does it matter if I start it up the first time when I get it back connected to the internet or not because sometimes I play my 360 not hooked up to the internet. I dont know why that would cause an issue but Ive seen people say stuff about how they couldnt play their old XBLA games on their HD without being hooked up to the internet. Either way Im glad Ill finally be able to game on my 360 again and it should be about the same time Euro 08 is coming out, I love that demo and plan to get the game.

So my friend let me borrow a couple of games for the first Xbox

And they're mostly just random games that I've never played and wouldn't pay for to get but since he was letting me borrow them I thought I would play them. I can't remember all of them there is Amped and True Crime Streets of LA and Black and Medal of Honor Rising Sun and Ghost Recon, but the most interesting was Silent Hill 2. I already played some of Black and MoH and they seem pretty good but the most interesting of the games I thought so far was Silent Hill 2. I started playing it today because I love the movie and I thought this game was pretty crazy. It was pretty much the first time I've played a horror survival type game unless you count Resident Evil 4, so I still have some problems with the camera angles and I'm not too great at the puzzles but I really think I'm going to like this game. Just felt the need to type some random stuff up.

Top 5 Games on SNES (IMHO)

I randomly just felt the need to make this after seeing a Top 100 list for video games. Anyways this is just my opinion Im sure others feel differently.

5. TMNT 4 Turtles In Time

It was a port of an arcade game I know, but the new bosses and levels were implemented flawlessly. Also being able to throw ninjas into the screen was pretty sweet. I used to play this game all the time, hell I still play it. I cant even count how many times Ive beaten it. You can even play this with a friend, coop on this game was better than any other coop on any game at the time in my opinion. On top of everything I just said Im also a huge TMNT fan.

4. Donkey Kong Country

I like platformers and Donkey Kong Country was an exceptionally great platformer. The level design is incredible, even when levels look similar in this game (which is uncommon) they still feel completely different. The music for this game was another great thing about it, I can still remember it and I havent played this game in at least 5 years. I also liked how they had the strategy of switching characters for different circumstances. Diddy was faster and could jump higher but you needed Donkey to defeat some enemies. Also the graphics for this time period were incredible they still look great to this day. Another thing that I felt made this stick out among other platformers was the animals and thebonus levels you could use them in. Theres still one thing I dont understand though...why the hell is his name Donkey Kong? Hes not a Donkey.

3. Super Mario All Stars

Youre probably like "What? Thats just a bunch of Mario ports". Incorrect. These are ports of the Mario games with updated graphics which makes them look so great...I dont even have anything to compare them too. Also Lost Levels was available for the first time in North America on this cartridge which I enjoyed so much more than Super Mario Bros 2. This game was extremely important for me becuase it was the first time I had ever played these amazing Mario games. I didnt have a NES so I didnt have the chance to play them except for on SNES at first.

2. Mega Man X

The first Mega Man game I ever played and in my opinion still the best. The ability to jump on walls completely blew my mind at the time and definitely added another dimension to the gameplay. None of the boss battles wouldve been the same without that feature. You could get powers from bosses you defeated like the previous Mega Man games which added some strategy to the game other than running and gunning. All the level design and sounds and just the way everything moved and how it was totally meshed. Everything in this game worked together to create a futuristic environment unlike any other at the time being. In my opinion this is one of the top games Capcom has ever made.

1. Super Mario World

Thats right, none other than Super Mario World. Honestly I dont think I need to give any reasons why I have this as the number as everyone should have played this game already but I will. First of all its Mario, the very best of Mario. Like I said earlier I love platformers. A huge thing for me in this game was Yoshi. That little green dinosaur added so much to this game and many Mario games after it. Also I have to mention all the secret levels, there are so many and you dont want to stop playing until you find every single damn one. This game has one of the highest replay values Ive ever seen. This game also has the best soundtrack I have ever heard for a video game. All the cute little songs are perfect and they will get stuck in your head for days on end. To me this is one of the top games of all time and always will be.

Other great games that deserve mentions are Super Mario RPG, Street Fighter 2, Super Mario Kart, Harvest Moon, Kirby Super Star, Illusion of Gaia, NBA Jam, Aladdin, Legend of Zelda Link to the Past, and Secret of Mana.

Youre probably like what he didnt even have all those amazing RPGs like Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger. Youre right I dont. Im not saying theyre not good games, I like them. Im just saying that personally I thought that these games were better. Plus Ill repeat again, I love platformers.

So I finally got to watch....

Silent Hill, on my fourth attempt. Basically to sum up the reasons I didn't watch it successfully before.....

1. Girlfriend was over and I was not in the mood to watch a movie

2. Blockbuster sucks and didn't give us the DVD in the case, which we didn't realize until they were closed.

3. My mom sucks and made me come home right before watching it.

4. I got to spend the night and FINALLY watch the damn movie!

I thought the movie was actually pretty good, it was freaky as hell. Especially the little girl, I'm not going to explain why for people that haven't seen it, but I would say the movie is worth watching. Tonight I saw Stay Alive on my tv too, decent scary movie, I would say it's the "scariest" PG-13 movie that I've watched.

Also I hit up EB Games the other day. On Xbox I bought Cel Damage for $5, Redcard 2003 (which I've been trying to find for a while) for $3, and MOH: Frontline for free because EB had the "Used Xbox games buy 2 get 1 free" thing going on and it was normally only $3.

More good news for me, today I started work again so not too long before I get a digital camera, then 360, then Wii. w00t w00t

First off they are amazing, period. Of course they make great music too. They make great hard rock songs but also they've shown the ability to make great ballads, songs like Rain or the acoustic verion of Diary Of Jane. The lyrics in all the songs are awesome, and obviously so are all the instruments.
