Yeah, I guess it has been that long.
Life's different. It's taken a turn for the better. Not much to discuss, though last weekend I did finally get Xbox Live. All of my achievements got wiped, so I have to replay everything... oh well. I only had 11.7k gamerscore. Not much. Gamertag on profile.
So it's "holiday release" time for us gamers, which means we have way to many games to play. First off I finally got my PS3 back, or should say new PS3
. Argued with Sony for a while on the cost of fixing what should be fixed for free after spending so much on a console, but right when they announced the price drop, and it was only a $130.00 difference between getting mine fixed and getting a new one, I said send the damn thing back. Took it to my trusty manager pal at Gamestop and he got me a great trade in for my broken one which made for a great day all around. First thoughts, I love the new slimmer PS3. Nearly silent, much smaller, great looking, happy all around.
Now onto games. Halo ODST, was a great surprise. I'd bored a bit, like many of the Halo Franchise, but loved the new direction ODST took. The single player campaign was easily worth the price of the game, and the multiplayer is a fun diversion every now and then. COD MW2, is very good, again. The campaign is criminally short, but this time I like the multiplayer much more. I'm never one to finish very high in an online game, usually in the middle somewhere, and I love the added bonuses and "help" the game gives players who aren't great. Now onto the two games that have blown my mind.
Uncharted 2. Uncharted 1 was ok for me, but this game is downright amazing. Taking a cue, in my mind, from MGS4 Naughty Dog made amazing and engaging cut scenes, each level built up to the next very well for such a lenghty game, and it's downright beautiful. The train ride level is a utter joy to play, one of those moments that makes us love gaming.
Assassins Creed II. I loved the first, despite the utter repetition and odd ending. This game fixes every problem from AC I, and Ubisoft turns around and builds an amazing game, built around a character you care about and like. (This seems to becoming more and more important in relation to how much I like a game: Snake MGS series, CJ: GTA SA, Nathan Drake: Uncharted, and others) The sheer volume of things to do, side missions, feathers, glymps (that are all important to the game this time) make for a great overall experience. Just last night I decided to slow down on missions and just work on some of the side things, looked up and it was nearly 4 hours later! If it finishes up strong, AC III will be a game to really keep an eye on.
Back to reality now, need to finish AC II, then just enjoy a little multiplayer here and there until Bioshock II & GOW III suck me back into a "gaming coma" early next year!
Take Care All,
Bryan
I've been gone for months. A lot has been going on. I realize that I should probably just let Gamespot die, as I haven't been on the forums (hardcore) in forever. But I just wanted to tell everybody... Thanks.
Gamespot is one of the core reasons my life is now as wonderful as it is now. It is one of the core reasons I went from being a wanna-be priest, to a devout Atheist. And my becoming an Atheist has effected every moment of my life since, a gigantic domino effect that has led to now, where I have a fantastic girlfriend, plenty of friends at school, and have honestly never been happier in my life.
I guess I should explain a little more in depth. One and a half years ago (I'm rounding) in April-May '08, I wanted to be a Jesuit priest. I was extremely religious, prayed as much as I could, and was absolutely positive about everything I believed. But I was unhappy with life. I hated school, kids made fun of me, but I always blew it off, saying that I was getting closer to heaven, I would be out of this **** and in a seminary soon, yadda yadda yadda. So I got on Gamespot, as I liked videogames, and found a particular interest in the Off Topic forum.
Often times, I would get into religious debates with people, where I was a closed-minded idiot and always thought I was right, never really taking into consideration what the Atheists were saying. But then, I started to take it into consideration. Stuff started making sense.
Oh ****
I began to think about everything, and soon by early June, I had converted into an Atheist. Funny how fast things went by when I opened up and listened. But that summer was by far the worst summer of my life. Maybe it was the sudden jerk in religious beliefs, or the after effects of such a lousy school year that had made me slightly antisocial. I cried a LOT, and to pass the time by I would go on the Gamespot Forums, and stay up until 5 in the morning. Sometimes I would even venture towards the dreaded... *gulp* ... teh 4 chanz
Basically I went down a downward spiral that summer, but Gamespot kept me up. You can even look back into my blogs, and see all my emo posts that summer
But the school year came, I got social, and I started to love life again. I slowly began to drift away from Gamespot. By far, it was my favorite school year ever. I had gotten used to my Atheist lifestyle, and everything seemed so much simpler. I made tons of friends, some Atheist so I wasn't totally alone at this Catholic school.
Fast forward to this past summer, I never even logged onto my Gamespot account when I got onto Gamespot. I still played games, checked out reviews and read what other people said on the forums, but never really logged in to say anything. Then about midway through that summer, I started talking to this girl... We'll call her "Jane" ![]()
She's been in my class, but we never really talked. She seemed to be too popular for me, and she even admits she always just thought I was a shy guy. But one fateful night she chatted me up on Facebook, said she got a cell phone, and asked for my number. I thought it was pretty random, but we'd talked before and I used to have the biggest crush on her best friend, so we would always talk about her. Now it seemed she had a thing for me.
We started texting, badda bing, this school year came, we admitted we liked each other, the stage was set. The night I asked her out, we still weren't a couple yet, she invited me to come over to her house to meet her family.
I was scared poopless at first, but everything went great, the parents loved me, and I asked her out by the end of the night. She of course said yes.
And ever since then, it's been magic. I've never been happier in my life. And I feel I owe it all to Gamespot, for starting this domino effect. And now that I "have a life", haha, I probably will not be returning here very much at all. So I just thought I would post this final blog, to let you guys that care know how I'm doing. I'm doing perfect. I can already tell this school year will be a thousand times better then last. And though I know only 2 or 3 people will read this, I just wanted to post this.
As a thanks to Gamespot, and a thanks to all you Atheists that helped knock some sense into me. A thanks to all the people that helped me out in my angsty, emo moods during my "transitional summer". You know who you are.
Sionara, Gamespot.

So there you have it.
As for what has been going on with me lately, I've watched a bunch of films:
Moon: 10/10, my new favorite of the year.
Up: 10/10, one of Pixars best.
The Girlfriend Experience: 9/10, I really enjoyed this film.
Antichrist: 8.5/10, weird and disturbing yet fascinating.
Stalker: Unknown, didn't really enjoy it, need to watch it again.
I also finished the third season of The Wire which was so amazing. It ended so perfectly I'm almost afraid to watch the 4th season, I mean they could have ended it with the 3rd season and I would been satisfied. But of course I shall be watching the 4th season soon enough.
I don't have a blog, and I guess I should start. But this isn't my first blog post. Starting after this one.
well little did i know that when you banned from gamespot you dont also get banned from tv.com

I leave for a year and a half only to return to see I'm a leader of a new union. Well, anyway. I'll be here possible for a while but I won't be active. Just an update to show I'm not dead or something.

as of yesterday I am 21 years old now ![]()
Got $200,
1TB Internal Hard drive,
Tekken 5 (ps3),
God of War:Chains Of Olympus,
oh and Dead Space (ps3) which
I got like a month ago but still counts ![]()
Good times...
(UPDATE) - And I got a 16gb micro sdhc card for my psp ![]()
All of my friends on XBL keeps asking me when I'm getting gold. I'm getting Gold Monday...I don't play alot of video games duringSpring, Summer and fall so I buy my cards one month at a time. I'll be able tobeat you in PGR, just wait. lol
So yeah it was from 300 to 530 and holy ****, I'm aching. Besides surfing, it's the only physical thing I've done in a damn long time. The weight lifting, the sparring, the cardio and then the ab exercises... I wanted to die the whole time ![]()
Anyways I'm about 109 pounds so the kids I wrestled were about 102, 120 and 128 I believe. In my first few rounds I wasn't pumped at all, tired so I essentially let them take me. In my second matches I got more into it and was able to pin them down for a few seconds and avoid shots a lot better... Unfortunately in the process my toe got hurt ![]()
I have practice Monday through Saturdays
, but once I start getting in shape, it should be a lot smoother and the prospect of having a rocking bod is always welcome
Religion is a proponent and unwavering cause of human stupidity. Being religious in any way assures that you are ignorant to facts and are a malignant force in society. The fact that religion of any kind pushes their archaic beliefs on everyone else, is like fanboys pushing a system on others.
The main difference between religion and videogame systems is that even the worst systems had some redeeming value. Religion has no place in this world and it's inclusion in people's lives shows that education and good parenting are failing us.
Stay tuned folks, this is just a rant. More observations of unadulterated human ignorance and stupidity forthcoming.
I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. I breathed a deep sigh of relief, realizing that the terror I had just witnessed was nothing more than a nightmare. I turned in my bed trying to find a comfortable position but to no avail, so I decided I'd get myself a glass of water. As I entered the kitchen something immediately felt somewhat peculiar. I turned on the lights to illuminate the room and I realized that there was a large hole in my wall where the dishwasher once stood. For a moment I stood in shock, unsure how to approach the bizarre situation. I decided to investigate further and kneeled in front of the hole, peering down to its dark interior to the my lawn outside. It looked almost as though something had broken through the wall, and for a brief moment I thought that perhaps this was the work of a bear before remembering that whatever it was had also taken the dishwasher. At last I decided I should simply call the police. I picked up the phone and was about to dial when I heard what sounded like a vicious growl.
It seemed to be emanating from the hole, and I felt my heart beat start to increase as fear spread throughout my mind. I put down the phone and began walking slowly towards the hole once more. I got down on my knees, took a deep breath, and stuck my head inside. All I saw was my lawn, and I began to calm down. Then, quite suddenly, something flashed before my eyes from outside. I backed up as fast as I could, the momentum causing me to hit my head on the floor of my kitchen. I picked my aching head off the floor and looked back out the hole to see the enormous head of a tyrannosaurus rex looking back at me with hungry eyes. My mind was numb with fear. The t-rex gave an earth shattering roar and I snapped out of it momentary stupor. I stood and ran to my bedroom as fast my legs could carry me. I burst through the door and closed it behind me, breathing a deep sigh of relief. My relief was short lived however, as I heard a growl once more, this one quieter and even more vicious than the one from the t-rex. My hand heavily shook as I reached for the light switch.
The room was suddenly covered in yellow light and my heart skipped a beat as I saw two velociraptors standing on my bed. They turned towards the light, looking rather confused. Their attention was then focused on me, and leered hungrily at the meal that had just arrived. One of the raptors leaned forward, preparing to pounce. As fast as I could I opened the door and spilled out into the hallway. Before I could even close the door, it was slammed in my face as the raptor hit the door, its claws sinking all the way through the wood and squirming menacingly at me. I ran back towards my kitchen, only to find it almost completely destroyed. Two of the three walls had been demolished, and the t-rex stood there, a chunk of drywall in his mouth. Behind me I heard a loud cracking sound, and I turned to see that the raptors had shredded the door, and were now standing in the hallway. I closed my eyes in a moment of silent prayer before sprinting directly towards the t-rex. The t-rex leaded towards me, opening his massive jaws. His head swung towards me, and at the last moment I duck and slide under his mouth, just as his jaws snapped shut with a mightly thud. I picked myself up as fast as I could and flung open the door to the garage, grabbing my keys before shutting the door behind me.
My hands were shaking violently, and I struggled to get the key in the ignition. Finally I felt the key slide inside, and I turned it, put the car in reverse, and backed out of my garage at nearly forty miles per hour. I put the car in drive and started to head down the quiet suburban road. I checked my rearview mirror and saw the road behind me was void of any dinosaurs whatsoever. I breathed a deep sigh of relief, and looked ahead of me once more only to slam violently on the brakes. The t-rex had somehow gotten in front of me and was waiting for me at the exit of my street. I turned the car around, knocking over a neighbor's mailbox in my haste. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw the t-rex running after me, giving off a great roar.
I turned knowingly into a circle street. Predictably the t-rex followed with no hesitation. I drove around the circle, the t-rex unable to keep up tripped over himself and fell. I felt the earth shake as I drove out of the street. I continued to drive for a good twenty minutes before I parked the car beside a small park. I closed my eyes, trying to decide what to do next. "Enjoying your prize?" said a voice, and I nearly jumped out of my seat. I turned on the overhead light and looked at my passenger seat to see Steven Spielberg sitting beside me. "Wha-… what?" I said, barley able to form words in my surprise. "Your prize. You know, the dinosaurs." I stared at Steven with a blank stare, my brain working desperately to comprehend the situation. "Wait… these dinosuars… you know about them?"
"Know about them?" asked Steven, giving me a confused look. "I told you, they're your prize. You won the contest!" I shook my head slightly in bewilderment. "What contest?" I asked. Steven furrowed his brow a little. "The 'Lost World' contest. You know? The one that promised an "authentic Jurassic Park experience". " I suddenly remembered what he was referring too. "That contest? That was over ten years ago, I was seven!" I practically shouted. "Well" Steven said defensively, "I guess you don't want the prize then."
"The prize?" I said in anger. "You call this a prize? I was nearly ****ing killed you lunatic! How the hell did you even get dinosaurs anyway, they're extict!?"
"Well, these are the ones we used for the original film. You didn't think we actually used computers did you?" I rubbed my forward in exasperation. "You mean to tell me" I said, trying to control my anger, "that you actually cloned dinosaurs to make Jurassic Park?" Steven smiled at me. "Well of course" he answered, "that's how Hollywood works. You didn't think the actors in Star Wars were just standing in front of a blue screen did you?" I sighed heavily. "Alright, fine, lets just forget the fact that you tried to kill me with prehistoric beasts for a moment. How exactly are you going to stop them?" Steven opened his mouth to answer, and but instead gave a confused look. "Huh… I never thought of that." I had just had enough at that point. I got out of my car. "Where are you going?" asked Steven. "Away from you" I answered angrily. "Oh come on, I'm sorry, okay? I thought you'd enjoy it, it's just like the movie!" I turned to him. "Yeah, just like the movies. Have you ever watched those movies?" Steven laughed. "Of course not, I have men to do that for me." I stared at him for a moment with a blank stare before turning. The t-rex roared in the distance. It sounded like it was getting closer. "Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good" said Steven. It was then that I saw a soft glow coming from the playground. I ran towards it. It was a laptop with a satellite Internet connection! So, I logged onto Gamespot to ask for help. What should I do? Please help!

"I don't understand why people say that...What are the countless number of amazing exclusives the PC has THIS GENERATION (don't give me that 1990 Baldurs Gate stuff) that completely wipe the floor with the console market? How is PC gaming bigger than console gaming when they struggle to sell a million copies...The only good PC exclusive I can think of is Crysis, which has been confirmed to to be soon ported to the 360/PS3 during an interview with EGM. Crytek themselves said they are tired of piracy and won't be supporting the PC platform exclusively.
Hopefully Spore, D3 and SC2 and Dawn of War 2 will be amazing. But we don't know that for sure. SC2 looks medicore from what I've seen but I hope Blizzard pulls it off. D3 I haven't seen anything and Dawn of War 2 looks awsome. Spore im picking up the first day of release
.
IMO PC is the RTS and MMO system. In everything else it gets thrown out the window by the consoles."
Lmfao another idiot thinking consoles has better FPSs and Games XD
Only good excusive is Crysis ay? LMFAO
Am i the only one that thinks thats kinda stupid? Get suspended for calling someone an idiot when he called Crysis the only good PC exclusive? I know i sound like every other guy that got suspended, just would like hear your thoughts on it
Well, iv bin using Giant Bomb, its a really fun site. The threads are fun, the mods r chill, no swearing blockers (yay for free speach), Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, Brad, Bombcast, People ..... If u use it, add me im Cartman
I think the moderator that moderated me should be moderated for trolling under his own logic...
it's not the platforms that bother me. It's that subrosian went through the trouble of
1) Locating a proxy server
2) Reconfiguring his internet settings
3) creating sbfriends, his secondary account
This is a whole lot one has to go through just to troll another user. It is obvious that his trolling was premeditated, and yet I get wrongfully suspended for 10 days, while he gets absolutely nothing. Not even a moderation.
Subrosian was even bragging about how he got me suspended in the IRC channel.
Reason: "accussing others of being trolls and providing false accusations without proof is trolling"
-
The only false information here is that I am accusing others falsely. Under this logic, the moderator that moderated me is trolling. I had proof-- I made 6 citations. The moderator also deleted those, so here they are once again. I'm sorry mods, but you're not just going to sweep this one under the rug. I was wrongfully suspended, and sbfriends IS indeed subrosian's alternate trolling account.
-
Coincidences happen, and in this case, it was only a coincidence that sbfriends happened to have his first post in AmyMizuno's thread [1], and immediately after the first reply ever to sbfriends happened to be from subrosian [2]. It is also purely coincidence that the two were taking turns posting, and were never posting at the same time. [3] It is also purely a coincidence how Subrosian and sbfriends use hyphens to seperate sentence fragments in exactly the same way. [4]
It was also a complete coincidence that the moderator that happened to suspend Amy was in an IRC channel with subrosian and blackbond at the time. [5] I also wouldn't make a big deal over the fact that that particular master moderator proceeded to attack and destroy Amy's reputation after she was suspended and couldn't defend herself. [6] I am 100% sure that there was no conflict of interest in this situation.
Hey guys and girls,
It's been a while since I've really posted a blog so I figured I would do one today. Nothing much has been going on really, it was my 21st not too long ago and that was pretty cool, I've been playing lots more Xbox 360 games and generally chilling out. I finished GTA IV to 100% which took me quite a while and now I'm playing a good deal of Colin McRae: DiRT which is pretty awesome.
So yeah, on another note I'm going to be spending most of my time over at GiantBomb.com, so if you want to keep up with me over there you can find me here. I'll still stick around on GameSpot and I'm not really leaving as such, but I probably won't be on the forums much (even though I'm not really anyway) anymore and I will probably continue my blog on GiantBomb.
It's been good meeting a lot of you guys and like I said I will still be here so take it easy out there.
The next Gamer fix podcast is hopefully will happen on the 1st/2nd of August. We will share the news and views of video games and we will have our mic's.If you have anything to say please leave a comment.
Who you cast for the Ratchet and Clank movie? if there was.
