Multiplayer of Fall '08

Some of you may know I got the COD5 multiplayer BETA about a month or two ago and, unlike, some of you guys that are just now downloading the demo off of Marketplace the new factor has worn of on me and it's just a copy/paste COD4 with different weapons and maps. I personally do not feel like redoing what I've already done with an indentical game(COD4) so here is my mulitplayer games I'll be playing this year.

Left 4 Dead: Valve and Co-op is already enough to make me buy anything. They have decided to throw hordes of zombies at you, but with The AI director which will make every zombie encounter new and unique. They've also got the man behind Halo matchmaking working on it for easier co-op matchmaking. Hard to think that the Beta is out tommorow if you pre-orded(If it has co-op on the Beta send me your gamertag and we can play later).

Gears of War 2: GoW had a good multiplayer, but you couldn't join a party and it was incredibly unbalaced. Epic has stated that they will fix these issues and all of the reviews have pointed out it will be great online.(The shotgun is no longer as powerfull so it gives the game a little bit more diversity because you can now use other guns).

Resistance 2:Co-op, 60 player deathmatch and team-deathmatch, and 2 campaigns. Yeah.

I hope that maybe, just maybe, some of you may consider something other than COD5 this year and give something new a chance.

Off-topic: COD5 zombies...can they please just stick to their own formula. And yes, I might be somewhat of a COD hater. DON'T JUDGE ME!!!

Fun Factor > Innovation

I'm not some angry fanboy that's getting all worked up. I honestly don't care about either franchises and I am writing this on behalf of gaming as a whole.

I've been reading a lot of reviews saying Saint's Row 2 is better than GTA4, I've played both(Saint's Row 2 I played at a friends house) and I'm really surprised that gaming's biggest flaws have come down to gamers and that we're the problem for the lack of orginality out in the market today.

Saint's Row 2 has no depth and ends up feeling like a shallow, but fun, kiddie ride that I ended up feeling mocked by because I found dumping sewage on civilians was fun, I don't feel like graphics are important, but it's just a slightly updated version of the last game, and this game lacks any sort of innovation made me feel sick. I always ended up feeling like one of those people that own a car and decide to make it white with gold emblems, the games sense of style was from one of MTV's "wannabe" shows.

But, to top it all of hearing people say,"Flying airplanes is funner than doing one of the missions from GTA4, so Saint's Row 2 is a better game," shows to me(or anybody) how big of a chance BioShock was and why some people think Shoot em' Up was better than The Departed, innovation dosen't matter, the fun factor does.

The Fall of COD's Multiplayer

I was thinking about how succesfull COD4's multiplayer has became and how it came out of nowhere and ended surprising a lot of people. I was wondering that maybe the new COD:WoW would do the same. Why? I've recently read an article about the perks and mods this time around and they seemed promising. Also, the new take on an old concept, and a more gritty look of the pacific theater. So, why is the article topic "The Fall of COD's Multiplayer"? Well, not everyone knows about the fact that this game is trying to make the whole WWII expierence different and that this is the last COD to take place in the setting, but the real big reason is because there are multiplayer games coming out that people are psyched for like: Far Cry 2 (map editor included), LittleBigPlanet, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, SOCOM:Confrontation, and Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Band 2 and plenty of others. And then you have single-player expirences that will catch peoples attention like: Fallout 3, Mirriors Edge, Dead Space, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Motorstorm, and Borderlands are to name a few.

I'm just wondering if maybe the amount of AAA titles that are coming out will take some of those Veterns of COD:4 to find another game that fits there taste better like SOCOM.

The IGN factor

I've decided that I'm just going to go to IGN.com to get all of thier reviews due to GameSpot being 5 days late with every games realese date and IGN.com being two days eariler. Also, IGN reviews movies, CD's, DVD's, and comics, so that while I check on game reviews I can check those out as well. And GameSpot's review of Mecs 2 pratically confirmed it. The only reason I'm staying here is because I'm a level 20 and I've been with GameSpot for a long time, who knows, maybe if I like IGN enough I'll leave all togther.
