What's all the commotion about?
So here and I got myself a copy of Modern Warfare 2, just so I can see what all this hubbub is about.
Nah, I'm kidding of course. I was intrigued by the first Modern Warfare, but as I'm not really that big of a shooter fan I kinda let it pass. But MW2 looks so much better, and apparently is more accessible that I just had to get it. Plus the trailers and videos intrigued me. Looks pretty awesome, so why not. I'm enlisting. Looks to be a nice change from all the hand-to-hand fighting and sword-slashing I've been doing with Tekken 6 and Dragon Age: Origins. Heheh.

Tekken 6 Impressions Aplenty
First and foremost, ignore all those mediocre reviews... this game ROCKS. It's the best Tekken ever, and it looks gorgeous and plays even better. Here are my thoughts so far...
Graphics and Animation are amazing, Sub-HD issues be damned. The game looks gorgeous in 720p. If your eyes are too sophisticated, then them's the breaks. It looks just as detailed as the arcade version to me.
Scenario Campaign Mode is cool, I think... it's an expanded Story Mode which focuses mainly on the two newcomers from Bloodline Rebellion. There are quite a few 'firsts' in the story of Lars Alexandersson and Alisa Bosconovitch; Lars seems to be the first 'heroic' Mishima, free of any taint of evil (like Jin). Plus his relationship with Alisa is clearly romantic, another first. Let's hope this couple continues their adventures in the next Tekken, although Scenario Campaign might not return as it has been the spanking-boy of critics.
Ranking is limited to 1st Dan offline; you want to get higher? Play online and get ranked. I think that sucks.
TONS of Items and Customizations. Man, it will take a long time to earn the millions to buy 'em all. Would I even need to? Probably not, but completists will rejoice.
Endings are hit-and-miss. Most are very, very short. As usual, there are funny ones, serious ones, some WTF ones. A couple so far I've seen end with the apparent deaths of some of the characters... good thing they're surely non-canon. Playing a lot. Will play more during the weekend. So far, enjoying every minute. GET IT!!!

Tekken 6: The Wait has Ended!
Finally, after two years of waiting, I finally got my copy of Tekken 6 on the PS3. Man, it looks awesome in the slick foil sleeve. Everything past is prologue now. Gonna have me some fighting' love tonight, tomorrow and the day after. If you're into fighting games, THIS is where it's at. Get your copy fast. Later!
The Final Stretch
Damn, quite a few lucky bastards already have Tekken 6. I've been waiting for this arcade giant since December 2007! Fell in love with it due to the fresh animations. But all will be well in a couple of days, hopefully. I have to say I do feel the wait has been worth it- I prefer getting the full BR-based version now, instead of a half-assed T6.0 port which would have come earlier in another life. Bloodline Rebellion was a much better game than the original Tekken 6.0 Vanilla, and gobs sexier with more customizations. Well, once I get my copy this week it's gonna be a watermark moment for my gaming life. After this, what's in the future, aside from the next Tekken? Super Streetfighter IV and hopefully someday Virtua Fighter 5R, if Sega can get off their stupid butt to do it. For now though, Tekken 6 is IT.
Tekken 6 is on hold... er, gone GOLD!
WAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! Goddamn, finally! My long wait, which began way, way back in November 2007, is gonna be over. The first time I saw Tekken 6, it was in the arcade, and the moment I saw those crisp, highly-detailed, glamorously-sculpted character models (I remember seeing Nina Williams in Tekken 6 for the first time blew my mind off... so beautiful!), I knew this game was something special. For me, no other fighter looked this great- Virtua Fighter 5 and Soulcalibur IV are both indeed gorgeous, but they lack a certain X-factor that I find in Tekken 6. There's a truly wonderful artistry and personality to Tekken 6's character models and overall graphics- it's like every other previous game in the series was an animated feature, and this latest game the full-blown live-action version. But of course, while the graphics reeled me in, it was the gameplay that made me stay. Tekken 6's fighting action, the more full and whole-looking and sexier animations (with tons of new moves and reactions) really made the game look and feel new. The customizations are so much deeper and cooler-looking than before in Tekken 5 and DR, and it's beyond fun to tweak your fighters' appearances... but now, in the console versions, at least I don't have to spend bundles of cash in the arcades.
On top of all that, there's the TONS, and I mean TONS of stuff in the home versions that you'll never find in the arcade. The Story mode cinematics, the new Scenario Campaign AKA 'Force Mode Unleashed', the exclusive home-only modes, online play and functionality... it's all good, baby. I wouldn't exchange my home version, to be enjoyed on my 42" LCD TV, for any crummy arcade machine. Seriously!
And so, just a couple more weeks of waiting. 17 freakin' days. Maybe I'll play the past Tekkens again, just to pass the time. Or something. The hardest wait is the shortest, but man, it's gonna be sweet when I finally get this... my first review again in years, I think. Halloween is gonna be like my birthday and Christmas put together. WAHAHA!!
