A Few Updates.
Privileged S01E01
I was skeptical. I was thinking "Oh, well I'll just skip this." But I sat down and I ended up watching it, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was worth the watch. Nothing overly grand or special, but it was definitely something I enjoyed watching and will watch the next few episodes for sure. There were some good moments and it was semi-touching.
Gossip Girl S02E03
Keeps going; stronger and stronger. This was a very satisfying episode. No complaints at all.
90210 S01E04
This show is definitely improving ever since the pilot. I really like Jenny Garth, and the musical aspects. And more Lucille Bluth! I missed her so much in the 3rd episode, glad she's back. I was REALLY digging this episode, especially the beginning. I'm going to stick with this one, likely for the rest of the season.
Do Not Disturb S01E01
Damn you Dave Franco. You're so hot. He's the only real reason I tuned in for this episode; but you know what? It was actually... funny. I laughed out loud twice, and chuckled a bit. Big, big, big improvement over the prior episode. I'll keep watching for a bit. When Dave Franco goes shirtless, I'll pick it up for full.

Do Not Disturb, True Blood, Gossip Girl...
Do Not Disturb S01E0?
So instead of using the pilot episode, FOX has decided to start the series off with a different episode, presumably episode two or three (in production order, anyway.) It airs in Canada on Mondays, not Wednesdays, so we get it ahead of you (no, this is NOT a review of the leaked pilot, which is a completely different episode.) The big problem is, Do Not Disturb just jumps in to things. There is no set-up; we don't know where they work, or who they are, and they expect us to have a clue. Another problem is Jerry O'Connell. That man can't act, and he especially can't handle comedic roles. He acts just like he did on Carpoolers. Over-the-top, and ridiculous. It's sad to watch. The show itself isn't funny, or clever. It thinks it is, and it's painful. The laugh track is awkward, because you sit there questioning "... Did something funny happen? Was that a joke?" Awful. I don't think I can tune-in to episode two.
True Blood S01E01
A lot of people don't like this. Don't expect Six Feet Under. I enjoyed it, I've been waiting for it for a while. It's fun, and it's 53Xy, and I like how they're dealing with the vampire mythos. It's a new world to explore. It's not perfect, and the pilot feels drawn-out, but I am definitely in this for the long run. It can only get better. Gossip Girl S02E02
I still thought the pilot was a bit better, but just a touch better. This is definitely still in the gold. The plot twist had me smiling, especially with the narration by Kristen Bell. How can you not love this show? It's so... snarky!

The Season So Far... #2
I just watched Do Not Disturb. It airs in Canada ahead of the US. They changed the episode from the original pilot. It pretty much jumps right into things, without your typical plot / character set-up. It's sort of like stumbling into a syndicated show you hadn't seen before. It's odd. Who are these people? Where is this place? What is going on? It wasn't funny at all. I didn't smile ONCE, and I sure didn't laugh. The laugh track was REALLY awkward. Just ew. This should be canceled, NOW. DON'T WATCH IT. I don't usually hate everything about a series, but ew. Just ew. EW, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew. Jerry O'Connell can't act, and it's even worse when it comes to his comedic acting. Oh, Dave Franco is supercute. But that's it.
The Season So far... #1
I watched the premiere of Gossip Girl, and loved it. It's the strongest opener for me, so far. It managed to highlight everything I love about the series. And that's exactly what a season premiere should do: to keep the audience it already has, and establish a new one. GG is a great show, even if a tad guilty. But it knows it's guilty, and doesn't take itself all that seriously.
I also watched the premiere of 90210. The grandmother is hilarious, and Navid is cool because his father produces adult films, and he's that media-savvy journalistic type. Annie is a good lead character, and Naomi should turn out to be a fun little snarky back-stabber. It has potential. It just didn't reach it in this super-sized episode. I'll keep watching, anyway. Samurai Girl. It's okay. It's a miniseries on ABC. The story is cliche and a tad silly, but it has some good moments. Don't expect anything genius, but there's nothing better to watch right now - and by the time there is, this will already be over. The actress who plays Heaven really can't act, and that's funny, since she has a feature film coming out next year (Dragonball.) The first part set things up, here's hoping the next two deliver on that set-up, and increase the action.

Final Schedule: No More Changes, or Additions.
So you're sick and tired of my blog... I know. But this is the worst blog out there, so I don't know why you bother reading it. It's not even really a blog. It's a "let me organize tv-related stuff and publicly publish it." It makes for terrible reading, but it's helpful to me.
Anyway, here is my FINAL fall watch-schedule. Mondays: Gossip Girl Heroes Chuck
The Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
Samantha Who?
I have a really good feeling that I'll end up watching Worst Week as well.
Monday is the strongest day of the week for me. It's quality AND quantity. I have an equal amount of comedy, and drama (with Chuck adding an extra dose of comedy to make up for the 22m difference.) It might get overwhelming, having so much to watch on one-night... but that's why there's Saturdays!
---
Tuesdays:
90210
Fringe
Those are the only two sure-thing watches for me. But I am also checking out Privileged, which I MIGHT continue watching, and The Mentalist, which has about an 85% I'll continue with it. It's good to have a night of campy, sexy drama partnered with a helpful dose of Sci-fi mystery.
---
Wednesdays: Pushing Daisies
The New Adventures of Old Christine
This is a nice night, mainly due to Pushing Daisies. If that doesn't have me feeling all warm inside, then Christine will have me on the floor laughing. Do Not Disturb and Gary Unmarried are possible pick-ups, along with Knight Rider. Knight Rider feels like this season's Bionic Woman. I'll probably only get through two or three episodes before dropping it. ---
Thursdays:
30 Rock
Ugly Betty
The only other thing I'm interested in here is Kath & Kim, but the promos look ODD. I don't know if it's my cup-of-tea odd, either. I'll give it a few shots though, that's for sure. If not, I'm fine with laugh-yourself-dead 30 Rock, and warm-and-fuzzy Ugly Betty. It's like Wednesday all over!
---
Fridays:
The Ex List
Even that's not a SURE thing, but I have a feeling I'll dig it. An hour-long comedy / slight drama, with an intriguing premise. I love series aimed at women, don't ask why. I'm still sad Emily's Reasons Why Not didn't make it past the first episode. ---
Saturdays:
This is pure catch-up. ---
Sundays:
Dexter
True Blood
It's my cable-based night! Two pretty horror-themed series, which both have series talent behind them (and they're linked, too! Alan Ball, SFU, Michael C. Hall!) These should make a REALLY good night for top-quality television.
