Well I finally have I got up early today and my late birthday present was bought today by my mum. I got the latest Mario game New Super Mario Bros for the Wii.

I also got a stretegy guide and it also had a poster of the Koopalings on it so that is pleasing for me because I have alot of Mario related posters. I also got a money box as well.

Expect hands on impressions soon.

There is no doubt are beloved mascot of Nintendo has had some hard enemies and some tough villains along the time he has been around. Here is my top 5 list of who I think Mario has had difficulties faing off against. It can be a sibling rivalry or just the villain in the games. I am adding images so I hope you like it. I am doing this on the run up to New Super Mario Bros Wii hitting Europe which is just under 2 days. Hope you like the list.

5.Wario: First appearence:Super Mario Land 2 the 6 Gold Coins: While Mario was away saving Daisy from Tatanga. Wario a greedy money grabber took the chance to steal Marios castle and making enemies to annoying the plumber. In the showdown with Mario. Wario faced him as normal Wario,with Rabbit Ears and finally he battled him with the fireflower before Mario kicked him out of the castle and reclaimed it. Wario might not be a big viallain but he has a strong hatred towards Mario which is huge. He has always faced him in the likes of Golf or Tennis.

4.Fawful:First Appearence: Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga: Fawful is Cacklettas assistant and while he is small he is no pushover. He creates machines that helped Cackletta. He blocked Mario and Luigi countless times in their attempt to get the Beanstar. He even absorbs Cackletta and he finds a body for Cackletta spirit to go into making her a more dangerous foe. He was defeated by Mario and Luigi but in the latest game he returned and fed Bowser a vaccum mushroom which suckd up just about everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom. He somehow turned some of Bowsers enemies against him and also took over his castle and later captures Peach in an effort to use the Dark Star which he wants to take over the Mushroom Kingdom with. While he is a good villain plenty of people like him because of his famous lines like. I HAVE FURY and Fink rat.

3.Donkey Kong: First Appearence Donkey Kong: While we didn't know at the time Jumpman was Mario eventually but he and Donkey Kong were bitter rivals. Donkey Kong captured Marios girlfriend Pauline and also Mario ended up capturing Donkey Kong in Donkey Kong Jr. So you can understand these 2 are more rivals than anything. There has been recent games like a few Mario vs Donkey Kong games to show the 2 still have this huge rivalry. I don't know if they hate each other or not but they do seem to have a history there. You could probably understand when Donkey Kong came out that you thought well Donkey Kong is a good character but Marios legacy just took off after that game. The 2 duke it out in various other games like Super Smash Bros so there's always reason to get payback.

2.Bowser Jr:First Appearence Super Mario Sunshine: Bowser Jr while he hasn't been around as long as the likes of Donkey Kong and Wario he does seem to be more of an enemy and has made Marios life a misery since his first appearence. In Sunshine he sprayed graffiti all over Isle Defino and the residents made Mario clean it up. Bowser Jr had a disguise being Shadow Mario and later revealed himself to Mario after he fought a Giant Mecha Bowser in Pinna Park. So if you think about it he was more of the main villain in the game. He also returned in New Super Mario Bros to kidnap Peach. Each world you fought him at least once and then he'd set a boss on you. He revived Bowser who was Dry Bones Bowsera at the time because Bowser was a boss in world 1 and he fell in the lava and they both took you on together. He wasn't the main enemy in Mario Galaxy but he did throw huge bosses like MegaLeg for you to deal with. He also in one battle took you on in his airship firing bullet bill and fireballs at you. The shame was he didn't battle you with Bowser which could have been epic. He is up to his usual mischief in New Super Mario Bros Wii and this time he has brought the other Koopalings along to try and give Mario an even bigger headache. So while he hasn't been around for long he as made himself such a tough foe for Mario. No doubt he will be in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Bowser Jr

1. Bowser: First Appearence Super Mario Bros: This guy needs no introduction Marios biggest enemy around. Bowser is the King of the Koopas and never seems to stop kidnapping Peach. He probably does it to force Mario into a showdown with him which he always ends up losing. Bowser has brought more than just Goombas,Hammer Bros,Chain Chomps and Koopa Troopas. He gave his kids a shot at facing the plumber. While in Super Mario Bros 3 though he doesn't kidnap Peach till very late in the game forcing you to go through his army of airships. He brought a Clown Copter in Super Mario World by throwing Mecha Koopas and big cannon balls and stomping the ground with it. He took Peaches castle over in Paper Mario and looked virtually unstoppable in with the power of the Star Rod but he also lost that battle. In Super Mario Sunshine he gave the chance to the newest member of the Koopa family Bowser Jr. He arrived and ripped Peaches castle into the sky in Super Mario Galaxy hoping to create a new empire but that also failed. Mario and Bowser have been adversaries even in their youth with the Yoshi clan helping rescue Luigi from Baby Bowser and Kamek the Magikoopa. Bowser is just one guy who just never knows when to quit. He will stop at nothing until Mario is gone for good and when he has Princess Peach. The question is why does he need her that badly. Is it just to force Mario to face off against in the hope he can defeat him.

Honourable mentions King Boo,Smithy Gang,Cackletta, Sir Grodus,The Koopa Kids. So there you go in my opinion the top 5 adversaries that ario has faced off against. Hope you like it and if you must know I can't wait to play New Super Mario Bros Wii.

As a gamer I look at games scores virtually everywhere and at the moment I can't see one game dominating the game of the year for this year. Here are a few examples.

IGN they have Street Fighter 4,Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2 as 9.5 games and Assasins Creed 2 shall be somewhere around there.

Gametrailers have Uncharted 2 at a 9.4 with Modern Warefare 2 9.5 and Assasins Creed 2 will score high since there's a launch center there.

Here we have a few games on 9.5 Uncharted 2,Dragon Age Orgins PC version and Forza MotorSport 3.

A magazine I get virtually every single month Games Master the highest rated game of this year they have given is Batman Arkham Asylum with 96%,Street Fighter 4 95%,Forza Motorsport 3 94%,Modern Warfare 2 95% and Assasins Creed 2 94% also. You ask about Uncharted 2 well Games Master to my shock only gave it 92% where I expect 95% at least.

Eurogamer has I think 3 games this year they gave 10/10 to Uncharted 2,GTA Chinatown Wars and Street Fighter 4.

Now I think here the contenders for Game of the year here are gonna possibly be these games. Uncharted 2,Assasins Creed 2,Dragon Age Orgins on the PC,Forza Motorsport 3,GTA Chinattown Wars,Street Fighter 4,Modern Warfare 2,Batman,Imfamous as possible contenders. Those are the possible contenders I would say but I could be wrong.

I shall be doing my own Game of the Year but it seems certain already its Uncharted 2 for me and here I think it shall be Game of the Year 2009 but so many sites do have different opinions on what 2009 game of the year could be. Whereas you look at past years the likes of Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda Twilight Princess getting game of the year virtually everywhere. This year shall be intresting with most sites and magazines to see what they claim is the best game of 2009.

The 16th November is Shigeru Miyamotos birthday and as the man who created Mario,Donkey Kong,Zelda,Yoshi,Star Fox and Pikmin to name some he is one of the most insparational game designers inm the world and quiet possibly the best. I mean look at the games.

Super Mario World,Zelda Ocarina of Time,Donkey Kong,Super Mario 64,Zelda A Link to the Past,Super Mario Bros 3 and just recently the latest release New Super Mario Bros Wii.

He has made some of the most revolutionary titles and most importanly made them feel fresh Super Mario Galaxy is an example. He has managed to attract a new audience to Nintendo systems with games like Nintendogs and Wii Sports related titles.

He isn't as involved with the Zelda series passing the leadership onto Eiji Anouma but he is giving us hints at what the next Zelda could possibly feature like WiiMotionPlus. He is also working on Super Mario Galaxy 2 with Yoshiaki Kozumi and he has said over 90% in Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be new content and most of thegood things involving Nintendo are down to him.

I mean his characters that he has created are some of the biggest most well known in the industry. Mario,Link,Yoshi,Kirby,Luigi,Donkey and more. So I thought I do a little blog because its his birthday celebrating one of the greatest game designers in the industry. I mean 2 years ago he helped in making Super Mario Galaxy one of the finest games ever.

Today is my birthday and I am 23 years old. I have been looking forward to it alot because friends and family are coming up today to play with me.

We shall be playing games like Uncharted 2,Mario Kart Wii possibly,Wii Sports maybe and Street Fighter 4 as well. Som,e will say why haven't you listed the nex Mario game good question its not out till Friday in the UK. So I have to wait a few more days. Hopefully today will be a blast having drinks and food and playing certain videogames.

Also can I say to those who are getting New Super Mario Bros Wii enjoy it because I am sure most of you will. I am looking forward to it also but I can't get it till Friday which isn't long another 5 days for me. So hopefully I have a good time and play games and have drinks and food today.
