Sweet, original garage/psych originating from Marin County. A Red Mountain offshoot, Born Again stumbled their way to L.A. in late 1969/early 1970, shepherded by producer Roger Dollarhide at Sun West Studios in Hollywood to mixed success. With a raw style in the vein of the Faces and the more trippy facet of The Rolling Stones, the band was led by the tuneful grooves of guitar player Larry Otis and the liquored, languorous voice of Bryce Sullivan. From piano ballads to horror-tinged instrumentals ("Laurie Waltzing" from the 1970s film The Velvet Vampire) to a ripping backwards sound collage, Born Again were early southern rock at its best. Contracted to Pat Boone Productions, the band saw members reappear and disappear for opportunities elsewhere. Including seven bonus tracks, this record has long been hard-to-find and has solidly stood the test of time.

This album has killer imagery. Drive through L.A. after it rains and the sun is shining. One of the most fun I've ever had listening to music.
Upbeat, innnovative, feelin good; Thats how I would describe this awesome album. Paulie had the right idea on this one. Enjoy listening. Cheers!
