We begin our journey through Thom Yorke's deep and mysterious mind in Hail to the Thief with 2+2=5. As well as having a great use of vocals and guitar, the song also has another kind of importance to the more enlightened of you who read this. The tite is taken directly from George Orwell's prophetic 1984, and takes us to the world of Oceania, where the Party is all-powerful. In the second song, Sit down. Stand Up., Thom assumes the postion of Big Brother in 1984, issuing useless commands to a world of thoughtless slaves. It is also noticed that at precisely 2:25 in both of these two songs, the melody is changed and remains so for the rest of the song. The next to songs, Sail to the Moon and Backdrifts, are both arguably decent tracks, but nevertheless seem to be lacking something. Thom returns to the guitarish style of Bends-era Radiohead with Go to Sleep, an excellent song in all aspects. The next song, Where I End and You Begin, is also a decent track. We Suck Young Blood, the next track, appears somewhat similar to Sail to the Moon, and is a little more disapointing. The album seems to stray a little around this and the next song, The Gloaming. This is one of my least favorite Radiohead songs, and I do not understand exactly what it is doing in this album. The album goes on with There There, another catchy and typically Radiohead tune. It also then returns to the depressing side of Radiohead with I Will, where only a keyboard and vocals are used in a beautiful combunation. Another minor disappointment, A Punchup at a Wedding, follows this. Finally, the masterpiece of the album, Myxomatosis, has been reached. It is followed by the decent song Scatterbrain, and then comes to a stisfying ending with A Wolf at the Door. The truly incredible thing about this album is that while maintaining a decent use of guitars like in the Bends, they are still able to be as progressive as Kid A or Amnesiac. This album is arguably one of the best Radiohead albums ever released.

Radiohead is one of the most incredible bands of the 90s. When you see how bands like Green Day and Blink 182 get away with all their four chord fantasies like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and whatnot. It is only when you discover Radiohead that you realize that all hope is not lost for the modern age of music. With masterpieces like The Bends and OK Computer, how can this not be so? And with Hail to the Thief, Radiohead proves to the world once again that they are the greates poets of our time.
