what is wrong with me?
why did i not play this sooner?
it's been out for basically a year, and i on;y got it 2 days ago, and today is my first time playing it...quite possibley one of the best games ever created. If there is anyone out there who hasn't played this yet, buy it now.
concerts, job, games, etc.
Work
so i went to work at a cadet camp doing dishes for 11.20 an hour after i quit A&W, i freaking hated it, it was the most boring job i've evr done, so i quit after about a week...and now i'm back at A&W
instead of working in the front though i'm in the back (which is good cause i hate dealing witht customers), and i am learning how to open, so i will be getting a raise right away (cause i know front and back so i am a more valuble employee). I really need to get my drivers (learners first of course
) cause i live in a town of about 10, 000 people, and there is no where (good) to work, if your not into vehicles, then there are conveniece stores, grocery stores, and resturaunts, so if i get my drivers i can get a job in Red Deer (a city about 20 minutes away), i plan on applying at HMV, or EB Games when i get my drivers (hopefully within the year)
Concerts
i found someone to go to that Ensiferum/Amon Amarth/Belphegor/The Absence concert i was talking about a few blogs Ago, i was talking to my friend (more of an aquantance really) who i went to school with years ago, and he said that he would go if he didn't have college in the fall (concert is october 8th) so i asked if he knew anyone who is 18, and drives that would want to go, and he mentioned a guy that i used to go to school with way back in like grade 4 who i haven't talked to in years is into Metal, so i messaged him on Facebook, and surprisingly he remembered me, and he said yes
I also discovered that Opeth is coming ro Edmonton October 1st, so me, my friend, and his dad are going to that, and the other day me and my friend decided that in August 2009 we are going to Wacken Open Air in Germany (for those who don't know, it is the biggest strictly Metal festival in the world, and is basically a Metalheasdheaven
)
Music
new bands i've gotten into recently: The Black Dahlia Murder, Machine Head, Psycroptic
bands i've been listening to a lot lately: The Black Dahlia Murder, Agalloch, Ensiferum (as always
), Cannibal Corpse, Brain Drill, Cephalic Carnage
bands i plan on "baquiring" material from: Decrepit Birth, Lykathea Aflame, Gates of Ishtar
Games
I haven't really been doing much gaming lately... i bought Lost Odyssey a little while ago, and Soul Caliber 4 a few days ago and i've been playing those, and the odd game of GH3, and Rock Band, and thats about it. I sold my PS3 to my friend, and i plan on buying an 80GB soon (i had the 20gb model) i don't know what Sony was thinking by making a 20GB model, i had DMC4, and MGS4 installed on the HDD, and thats half the freaking hard drive right there.
ETC.
still lacking in the GF department, my friend mentioned to the girl i waws gonna ask out that i like her, and she said that she didn't like me back, so w/e, and now i don't have anyone in mind that i like so the way i see it, i'll probably be a lonely loser for the rest of my life.
Anyone heard of the comedian Brian Posehn? freaking hillarious.
NEED to find someone to go to a concert with+Bacon Vodka, etc
so i just found out that Ensiferum (my favorite band) as well as Amon Amarth (who is headlining, and also one of my favorite bands), Belphegor (an awesome band that i just recently got into) and The Absence (a good melodeath band from the states) are coming to Edmonton, and Calgary (both about an hour and a half from where i live) in October...now heres my problem; i don't have my drivers, none of my friends are really into Metal enough that they'd drive me...so if anyone knows anyone (or is) 18 or older, and lives in central Alberta let me know because i am not missing this, i highly doubt any of these bands will come to play in Alberta in the next decade lol.
also, i am making bacon flavoured vodka...my friend read in a Maxim magazine that if you put a couple stips of Bacon in a jar filled with vodka and let it sit in a dark place for 3 weeks, you get bacon flavoured vodka, and apparently its really good...we shall se i guess lol.
and i'm thinking of quiting my job. I might give my 2 weeks notice today, i've just had enough of the place, there is way to much drama, and bull**** that goes on, and half the people i work with are a bunch of dumb asses
wow! (just beat MGS4)
i will use this picture to demonstrate my emotion during the entirety of MGS4
my ratiing for MGS4: 11/10
the extra point is for the smoking/drinking monkey. any game with a monkey that drinks and smokes is instantly awesome.
screw MGS4
Afrikas where it's at ![]()
j/k
(obviously) from what i've read it's basically Pokemon Snap, except with real animals...WOOT
GREETINGS: from my drunken stuper
i am drunk. i am not goingf to lie, i was coming homne from work tonight (technivalcailly)last night) and i wa swalking byu a friends house who jus tso happenend to be having a party, so i ended up joining in (we played sociables, a drinking game)
and they picked on me, and kept on making me drink, and me being the light weight i am got hammered pretty fast lol. i walked home with a friend, we stopped at a gas station and i got some food, nd he got some smokes, this blog was very pointless, yet i felt the need to do so...carry on.
STAY METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DBZ: Burst Limit=awesome
let me just start off by saying i'm a huge DBZ fan. I haven't watched the anime in ages, but DB, and DBZ wil always be 2 of my favorite anime, when DBZ: Budokai came out, i was in nerd heaven, ot was like a dream come true, then the second one came out, and it was even better then the first; more characters, stages, skills and techniques, then DBZ: Budokai 3 came out...i was blown away. not only is it the best DBZ game to date, it is one of the best fighting games to ever be released as far as i'm concerned, it's fast paced, technical, the special moves are bad ass, it's exciting, and most of all; it's fun. Then they started with that Tenkaichi crap...wtf? imo it was a major step backwards, sure having the entire stage to move around in was cool, but it got old real fast. After that i basically gave up on DBZ games, then i heard about Burst Limit, and i figured "meh, it's probably gonna be like Tenkaichi
...i wish it was like Budokai 3" then i finally looked up a trailer, and 2 or 3 gameplay videos last week, and i was fairly impressed, so yesterday i downloaded the demo, and i can safely say my faith in the DBZ franchise (as far as games go) is restored. It is very simmilar to Budokai 3, except with improved graphics, and some new fight mechanics (thats what i got from the demo anyways), i played through the Goku vs Raditz scenario about 5 times, and the Yamcha vs Saibamen one about 3 times. I plan on picking it up the day it comes out.
for anyone who is a DBZ fan, or fighting game fam (regardless if you like DBZ fan or not) i HIGHLY reccommend picking this up when it comes out, or atleast checking out the demo.
Dark Tranquillity, & Arch Enemy concert=****ing EPIC!!!!!
so i just got back from the concert (my first concert ever
) and god it was the most epic experience of my life...Firewind opened, they were ok, there were a few good guitar solos, the crowed wasn't very lively, and then it was Divine Heresy, the mosh pit was ****ing INSANE, it was like WW3, and then there was a wall of of death, and needless to say, some people got hurt
(i went to the bathroom during intermission, and there were tons of bloody kleenex's in the garbage
), and following Divine Heresy was Dark Tranquillity, who was AMAZING they started off with Terminus (Where Death is most Alive), and they also played Focus Shift, The Treason Wall, and a couple of other great songs (mostly from the Fiction, and Damage Done albums), they put on a great show, Mikael said several times how much he enjoyed the crowed, and he put on a great show, and then last but not least was Arch Enemy...the crowed went ****ing berserk when they played Ravenous, and Dead Eyes See no Future, there were 3 amazing guitar solos; one by Michael Amott, one by Christopher Amott, and then a solo by both of them together, and there was an amazing
drum solo to, towards the end, when i was thinking "damn, they forgot Nemesis", Angela said they have one more song to play...and guess what they played.
epic moshing ensued, and when the song was over and AE walked off the stage, the crowed cheered for atleast 5 minutes, and started chanting "ARCH ENEMY!" Chris came on stage and started playing a mellow solo, then Michael came, and joined in, then the drummer (whos name escapes me atm) started playing, and then the bassist came in, then Angela came on stage, and they played We Will Rise.
i bought a Dark Tranquillity shirt (has some skulls on the front, and tour dates in the back), and an Arch Enemy shirt (has the AE pentagram on the front, and on the back it says "PURE ****ING METAL"). I am really sore...my back hurts from standing so long, my head, and neck hurt from headbanging like a mofo, and my throat hurts from screaming at the top of my lungs, but i do not care, it was ****ing epic!
sorry if this blog post seems like i'm rambling...i'm been up for almost 24 hours, and i have lots of energy drinks in me, as well as some alcohol, and some second hand weed in my system...so i'm a little crazy right now![]()
stay Metal
Rate my purchase
so i went to the city today with 2 of my friends, and i bought a couple CDs, and movies (and a few other things)
i got;
2 new pairs of pants (first new pants i've gotten in over a year lol) a Pac-Man belt buckle, and a Rush belt buckle, both of which are bad ass, i also bought Planet Terror, and Death Proof (missed Grindhouse when it was in theaters
) and i bought the following CDs;
Blind Guardian- Nightfall In Middle Earth

Children of Bodom- Something Wild special edition (includes a a cover of Silent Scream by Slayer, some wallpapers, a Winamp Skin, and a video clip of Deadnight Warrior)
Decapitated- Winds of Creation
Amon Amarth- The Fate of Norns
Opeth- Ghost Reveries special edition (includes a cover of Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple, and a bonus DVD)
Bloodbath- Nightmares Made Flesh
and i also got my friends birthday present; a Bullet for my Valentine shirt, and a Slipknot flask (i hate both bands, but he;s into them
)
NEW Gears of War gameplay!
bought some bad ass shirts
so i ordered some cool shirts from rockabilia.com (good site...i've used it in the past) they should arive in a few weeks. here are pics of them, tell me what you think;
Amon Amarth
Ensiferum (my second Ensiferum shirt
)
Blind Guardian (my second peice of BG apparel..i own a hoody, and now i will have a shirt)
Opeth
Korpiklaani (i found this one funny
)
wanted upcoming games
tbh, i haven't been playing alot of gamesin the last year-ish...i gor SSBB, GTA IV, Mass Effect, NMH, Rock Band, GH3, and they are all great games, but i'm not playing them much...never the less, there are still some great games coming out in the next year or 2, and here are some of them that i'm looking forward to...except the obvious ones (like RE5, FFXIII, MGS4, etc.)
- Mirrors Edge (first person action adventure) for the PC, PS3, and 360
i actually just heard about this game yesterday...it looks ****ing awesome, think PoP, or Assassins Creed, except in a modern setting...and first person, looks really bad ass
- FF vs XIII (action RPG) for the PS3
everyones talking about FFXIII, but what about VS XIII? it is a action RPG done by the Kingdom Hearts team, and it is set in the same universe as FFXIII, looks really cool
- White Knight Story (JRPG) for the PS3 (another trailer)
SEVERELY under looked game imo, looks like it will be one of the best RPGs in years. It has everything that (imo) makes a good game; interesting gameplay, great OST, good character (models), and from the trailers, the story is sure to be an epic one.
- nex-gen Prince of Persia (action adventure) platforms haven't been anounced yet
the Sands of Time trilogy was amazing, the next saga is sure to be just (if not mroe) awesome
- Shadow of the Colossus/Ico teams next project (*assuming* action adventure) platforms haven't been anounced
as far as i'm concerned SotC, and Ico were some of the best games of last gen, and arguably of all time, the next game by the team should be even more awesome (if thats possible) as the last
- Brutal Legend (action) for the 360, and PS3
a game centered around Metal. they had me sold at that lol. Tim Schaeffer (psychonauts creator as well as others) is behind this peice of bad assery, it's centered around a roadie (played by Jack Black) and if you can't tell by the trailer, it's gonna kick some ass
- Cry On (action RPG) for the 360
i haven't heard alot about this, and it's been a few months since i've heard anything about it (even now when i search for it almost no info comes up) but this is sure to be an awesome game, it is being developed by Mistwalker studios
- THE NEXT ZELDA GAME!!! (action adventure) Wii (most likely)
i know there hasnt even been any rumors about another Zelda game, but we all know its coming, it's only a matter of time. imo TP was a bit of a let down, but hopefully the next one is epic as ****, and not as generic as TP. i remember a coment made at E3 a few years back about TP being "the last traditional Zelda game" so hopefully the next one isnt changed to drastically...
thats all i can think of atm (i know i'm probably missing some) but these are (hopefully) gonna be some awesome game that'll keep me glued to my TV
ZOMG! guess what!!!
i have nothing to blog about so...

*head asplodes at the thought of Blind Guardian being in a video game*
new job (maybe) and i am cursed with electronics.
so how has everyones week been? good i hope.
i might be getting a job with my dad, he works for a drywalling company insulating houses (he's been doing this kind of work for about 20 years), and the guy he works with is moving in a few months, so he has to train someone to replace him...and i'm thinking about doing it. It's $12.00/hour starting, and after a few months i'd get a $2, or $3 raise. The only downside is that the hours are crazy...it's 6 days a week, and it's usually from around 6:00 AM to 4-ish PM. I think what i might do is use this as an opourtunity to save up money for the business i want to open up eventually. I'll probably be going to work with him for a day next week just to see how it is, and then i'll probably make my decision by next week...hopefully i like it enough to want to do it for a while.
/boring unimportant update on life ![]()
i seem to be having horrible luck with my belongings lately...first my computers (downstars)crapped out on me, i press the powe rbutton, and nothing happens, then my drum pedal for Rock Band SNAPS in half (we emailed EA, and their sending us a new one thankfuly lol), then my guitar effs up (on the guitar where the amp plugs in, it kind of came "undone"...it's weird
), and then yesterday my ****ing Ipod effed up...when i try to turn it on, it makes a weird sound, and it doesn't work...i was planning on buying a new Ipod anyways though (the one i had was a 30GB video) and i'm gonna buy a 80, or 160gb one. i never though i'd fill up the 30gb one, but i did...i have like 7, or 8 more bands i wanted to put (pretty much their whole discography, so around 25 albums lol) on but there wasnt room.
anyways, thats my boring blog post for now. 28 more days till i go see Dark Tranquillity, and Arch Enemy! I CAN'T WAIT

OMG SIX MORE YEARS!!!
and on another note; I got Mass Effect the other day, and it is ****ing amazing
not sure what i should play next...
so i just listened to Children of Bodoms new album...
tryed to anyways, i thought it was extremely boring, the only 2 songs i liked are Hellbounds on my Trail, and One Day you Will Cry, Hellbounds on my Trail is very thrashy, and (one would think) should set up for the rest of the album, but it doesn't...and One Day you Will Cry sounds a fair bit like older COB, and it's got a pretty impressive guitar solo, other than those 2 songs the album is very forgettable...my general reaction for all the other songs were somewhere between "meh, its not bad i guess" or "this is crap, and it's putting me to sleep". I wouldn't get this album unless you are just getting into Metal, or you are a die hard COB fan. Over all i'd give it a 5.5/10.
*continues waiting for Wintersun, Opeth, and Gojiras next albums*
Holy ****! (about the Arch Enemy concert)
so i decided to start a CD collection...

Agalloch- Ashes Against the Grain
Behemoth- Demigod
Gojira- From Mars to Sirius
