This is probably the best all around album ever released in rap history. At least in my opinion it is. The beats are tight, the selection of rappers in the clan keeps the rhymes and styles fresh. It litterally starts up with a hype verse from GFK and doesn't stop until its over. With songs like CREAM, Method Man, and Protect Ya Neck representing some of the best rhymes in the history of the Shaolin and the rest being damn near as great, this is truly the be all end all album.

Bone Thugs never get their proper respect, they always get short changed and left out of all discussions. Being the only group to get national attention from Cleveland should get them some sort of notice as a novelty but they get ignored. they had the first rapid fire flow to ever blow up and show on a national level. They brought life back to Ruthless Records while the ship was sinking after Dre dissed Eazy on Dre Day. Their records were always solid, and some of them should go down as classics, but they never get their full respect. You still see Krayzie Bone showin up all over the place to this day in all kinds of videos from Chamillionaire to Biggie. If they would've had one more classic album, they might have been able to realy leave a huge lasting imprint on the hip hop world

If you like west coast rap buy this, if you like gangsta rap buy this, if you like rap buy this, if you don't like rap buy this it will change your mind that's how good it is. The funky beats are unbelievable and each song has its own distinct funk. The death row inmates liven up each song with their variety, from RBX's heavy rhymes to Snoop's laid back feel it's all good. It's long enough to occupy you for a while but never feels drawn out. The comedy that it brings to the table with "$20 sack pyramid" and "roach" are awesome ,allthough roach has a hard time following the pyramid. The one fault, if thats really what you want to call it, is that towards the end of the CD dre and snoop seem to fade out and focuses more on the other death row artists. Not to say that they're bad rappers but they can't hold a candle to dre and snoop. For example compare compare stranded on death row to lyrical gangbang and you'll find that stranded is better sheerly because of snoop's pressence. Regardless it's just plain good so stop reading this and buy the chronic
