The Stills, The Dears, The New Pornographers - now this. What have they been putting in the water in Canada? Ten tracks of urgent, at times frenetic but always yearningly melodic majesty. It's very rarely I can honestly say that there's not a bad track on an album, but in this case every single one is a gem.

This outfit are mainly remembered, if at all, by the fact that they included singer Noel Burke who went on to sing with Echo and the Bunnymen on their (in my opinion) criminally underrated "Reverberation" album. It's a pity, because their one album "Love Me Love My Dogma" is a revelation in itself. Packed full of soaring melodies, killer choruses and hooks aplenty, its a must for aficionados of power pop. Its also blessed with some very clever lyrics eg. "I was a stable boy who grew to be a most unstable man".Apparently it's due for a reissue some time in 2005 - definitely worth a listen.
