Happy Tenth of Tevet

The presents have all been opened, thefriends and relatives are dispersing, a third of a turkey is in the fridge hoping someone has a sandwich craving, Christmas is over.

It's been fun to see how the holiday is celebrated down here, though visiting with everyone is a little overwhelming as it always is. We experienced our uncle's Christmas Eve party, which was a little awkward seeing as I knew no one and everyone there was middle-aged. Our reverend friend (that rhymes!) Suzanne gave a service at my grandma's house Christmas day. I'd never been to a service before. Because there were only ten or so of my relatives there, I think it was more personal, and I enjoyed it more than I would have.

Christmas seemed, I dunno, slight this year. I wasn't all that excited about it, and we didn't even get around to opening stuff until 10:30 or so. Still,it's was good to get some closure; this was the first time I've seen everyone since my grandpa and uncle died. Thankfully, everyone seems to be doing great. Okay, I'll cut the crap, everyone just wants to know what I got right?

  • 250 American cash dollars
  • xx, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, Fever Ray, Girls' Album on CD
  • Dexter Season 2 on DVD (now to find the other two!)
  • $25 Target gift card (turned into Wii Sports Resort)
  • $25 iTunes gift card (will turn into Bitte Orca, Tarot Sport and some iPhone games)
  • Ticket to Up in the Air for earlier tonight (it's excellent)
  • Ticket to Avatar tomorrow night (IMAX 3D no less)
  • A new tuque
  • A travel bag
  • Candies and chocolates

The MotionPlus feels very lifelike, thoguh I've found Frisbee a bit wonky. My brother says it's crap but that's only because he's not good at bowling anymore. I'm also continuing with Golden Sun, and it's quite enjoyable. The whole family loves playing World of Goo together, and I think that's awesome. Everyone seems happy with the presents I got them, though my mum hasn't had the chance to listen to Two Suns yet.

Yeah. Since I'm obliged to ask, how was your Christmas?

Merry Christmas to all my friends

I hope your Christmas holiday is a good one, and you get all the games and consoles you want. But most importantly, I hope for the safety and health of you and your families. Amen.

Being Busy

Man Have I been busy! I havent been on the computer much at all due to the fact that I have been working, spending more time with my family, helping out some people i know, trying to earn some extra cash, and stuff like that so computer stuff and video games haven't really been big this summer. Though i did manage to play some Killzone 2 and that rocked.

School Starts soon and that pretty much means I will be on Gamespot, Giantbomb, and my PS3 ALOT more due to the fact that all my busy stuff is pretty much only happening in the summer. So I will definetly be on alot in august to may, and I will write it down somewhere that I need to get on gamespot and giantbomb more.

Also I would love to hear your E3 thoughts and such with you guys so feel free to send me a PM about any of these new awesome games that will be out.

ReviewSpotting 82 Entries and Soapbox Entries

Note: All Soapbox submissions will be first come, first served. If edubuccaneer does not receive your entry by when the issue is finished, it will be considered for the next issue. (Updated - 10:51 AM GMT - 3, December 2nd, 2007)

- To submit a review for ReviewSpotting, please track (or befriend) this profile. Your reviews will be submitted passively.
- To submit an editorial, please send edubuccaneer a PM with a link to your editorial OR comment in this blog post with a link to your editorial in your GameSpot blog.

If you find that your reviews are not being tracked, it is likely because your reviews are not yet up to minimal standards of what ReviewSpotting is looking for. If you believe that you have written a review that proves otherwise, you may submit a PM to this user profile with a link to your review - and we will carefully consider whether to track your work or not.

As with reviews, we will only accept editorials submitted within the next issue's ReviewSpotting submission window. You may also submit more than one editorial, but only one of your editorials within any submission window will be considered. To see whether your editorial has been accepted, I will be posting all accepted editorials on the CCU home page.

Submissions considered for ReviewSpotting must be submitted between Sunday and Saturday of an issue's submission window. We expect your piece to be on par with a final draft by Saturday.

You may submit more than one work; however,we will only consider the best entry from those you submitted in that week. If you are an Honored Reviewer, all non-winning reviews will automatically be featured as Honored Reviews.

You may also submit your work by sending a PM to the editor responsible for this issue with a link to it. So if you are a GameFAQs contributor or if you have a review that was edited or reposted recently, you can use this second method to ensure that your work is in the competition.

Goodbye World of Warcraft
After a whole summer and 2 months of playing World of Warcraft, i finally got over it. The game was fun while it lasted. Questing, Grinding, and the most fun, Ganking horde. Right when i hit 60 i started raiding and it was fun the first few times. after a while it got repetative and boring. Then my guild decide to disband and i did not feel like joining another raiding guild. i had nothing else to do in WoW, so i decided to sell the account to a former guildy. Now im spending the money on online sites buying new games and accessories for my DS lite =D

I don't usally complain but!
I don't know if it's just me but, I find gamers are becoming more and more like snobs. Forgive if I have insulted anyone but, if you think about it (refering mostly to new school gamers), all that is really thought to make a great game is cutting edge graphics. I mean visuals that are beautiful are great but, that shouldn't be what determine if you get the game or not. I know that everyone isn't like that I know many people that still love the NES era Zelda and  FF series, why can't games concentrate on making a great  story that will captivate the gamer instead of make a 50-60 dollar pile of ......... well you know.

Quick Start: Sad reality
I wonder if you know how expensive computer hardware is in Poland. All the prices are about 10-20% higher then in US, but average earnings in my country are few times smaller then in US or Western Europe. It really sucks. We have to spend our 4-month wage to buy computer suitable to the latest game's requirements. The level of piracy in countries like Poland is not a surprise if you consider it. Besides.. games prices are also relatively high. Me for example... I can only buy something about 2 original games a year, but really I have plenty of things I would buy first... It also sucks

Few days ago I bought a new motherboard and hard drive. I need to change also processor and graphics card soon, but I have to wait until the prices go down a little. For now I can only play games form year 2002 on low details smoothly:/

I hope the situation will change soon so gamers all around the world could do what they like best... legally.

Maybe Polish lesson on the end:
Do widzenia drodzy czytelnicy! ( I bet you can't pronounce it correctly ;-P )
btw it means "Goodbye dear readers" :-)
