In Heavy Rain...the possibilities are endless.

At long last, Heavy Rain has returned in the form of a new trailer at Leipzig GC '08. Alas, once again the new demo does not have any relation to the actual game, but now that they have shown the gameplay, I am more excited than ever.

The demo depicts a woman named Madison riding her motorcycle into an unnamed town. She pulls into a standard suburban neighborhood, arriving at the dingy house of a taxadermist who has become a prime suspect in the case of the origami killer. Madison is an investigative journalist who has taken it upon herself to find evidence on whether or not this man is the killer or not. Madison makes her way into the house through the kitchen window, which was left ajar. She looks throughout the house, in which you can interact with almost everything. Making her way upstairs, what else does Madison find but...the corpse of a woman in the bathtub, and two woman in another room who have apparently been stuffed...by a taxidermist! Just then, the taxidermist decides to arrive at home. Here's where things get interesting for me. In the demo, Madison is discovered by the taxidermist, which results in a QTE of Madison trying to escape the house with the taxidermist hot on her heels with a knife. BUT, that is only one possible scenario of what could happen. According to David Cage, writer and director behind Heavy Rain, there are many different ways in which that scene can turn out. Madison can escape the house without alerting the taxidermist, or she can hide from him in around 30 hiding places. She can also be killed, and the story will still go on. In Heavy Rain, says Cage, there are no game overs. Sounds intriguing...

If only they would release that demo on PSN!

"She can also be killed and the story will still go on" Holy balls! This sounds like the best interactive storytelling ever. I thought Fahrenheit was awesome (but limited) but now with the impressions of this, I think I'll just close my ears until the game releases, never see any review, and buy the game fresh on Day 1. Time go buy a PS3, then, because I'll follow Quantic Dreams anywhere

Because I'm an inept, one-track a....wait, can't say that here......... a one-track, single minded cake, I wish this was for 360. Nevertheless, it looks brilliant.

Don't really get the point of dying and continuing whilst dead... How will that end up? Control her ghost a la (god-awful) GCN game Geist? Wait for someone to treat her? Revive her?

I say, it looks freaking real. I probably won't pick it up, because it's shaping up to be a fairly graphic game, horror-ish. And because I don't have (nor want) a PS3.

Hey, all you other people, please file a complaint against XBL gamertag aznEXILE6138. Thanks.

About Me

Hey, I'm glad that I'm interesting enough for you to read this! So I guess I'll tell you a little about my gaming preferences and other interests. I first started gaming when the SNES came out, but I didn't really get hooked until my I found a copy of Diablo in my dad's office. By StarCraft, I already knew what I wanted to do in life. Today, some of my favorite games (not in any particular order) include the Resident Evil series, the Fire Emblem series, the Half-Life series, any BioWare game, any Blizzard game, the Tales series, and pretty much any game with a great story! That's what I find most interesting and fascinating about video games, the stories and characters they can create. Some shun this as silly nonsense, believing that games are nothing but blood and gore, but I've learned to ignore the naysayers. Just look at how much the industry has grown! Before I sidetrack onto a rant, I also enjoy, besides gaming, watching movies, reading (particularly sci-fi and fantasy), working with computers, and most of all, drawing (if my scanner worked I would definitely upload my pictures on here, but sadly that's not possible). If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. And yes, I accept any FRs or UIs.
