Another wasted weekend...
Hi, How is everyone at tv.com?
Life is never simple is it.... I was looking forward to spending some quality time on this site over the last week - I had some reviews and submissions that I wanted to write, as well as spending more time on the forum, but I never have seemed to have got round to it.
My granparents came over to stay for a long weekend, which is nice, but does take up alot of time. I have also purchased a new car, so I have been running around trying to get tax, insurance and all other things needed so that I can finally have a social life again, instead of spendinmg all my time in bus queues, which in this freezing weather is not at all pleasent!! To top of my week of frustration, my boss has decided to move the sales and marketing offices around, so all spare time that I didn't have, has gone to rearranging furniture.... some things are just not meant to be!
So what to report.... well, to be honest, nothing. I have not managed to write a single review, a single submission or even a post. Infact, writting this blog is the first time since last week that I have managed to spend more than 10 minutes on this site. I do however hope to make amends this week - oh yes, I have plans
I took delivery on saturday of the X-Files complete DVD collection. I did decide to take the plunge after all... I am now trying to work out when, and if I'll have time to watch it! What are your favorite DVD's that you own, or do you prefere to watch films and TV series "live".
Well, that's about it from me I'm afraid. I hope you all had a great weekend (what did you get up too), and hopefully I will see alot more of you this week.
Cheers for stopping bye, draskers

Hello, Level updates and DVD temptations....
Hello everbody, how are you all?
Things are going OK "ish" for me... I have had a nice couple of days writing show reviews and posting in the forum (I made my 100th post yesterday
) I am still on level 6 and 84% which is the same as I was on Monday night
- I am not sure whether the site didn't update me or whether I haven't contributed enough the last couple of days. O well, let's see what happens with tonights update before moaning too much! I also see they have fixed the "edit profile" pop up page, which is great becasue I am now classed as a male again which is cool.
I have been trying to decide if I should spend some of my cash this week on a new X-files box set which has been released in the UK. It looks pretty good because it has every episode in it and loads of extras. The only thing missing is the film that they did. I am tempted to buy it as I don't have any X-files DVD's and I have never seen all the episodes - especially in the correct order... the thing that's giving me second thoughts is the price. It costs £140 which I think is about $245 - and it's close to Christmas
What would you do... Is it worth it???
Other than that, there hasn't been much going on to report about I'm afraid. I suppose I could say the weather is freezing and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet, but then I would feel like I'm waffling on about nothing, so I'll leave it here
Hope everbody is well and happy, and I will see you again in a day or so. Bye

Lazy weekends...
How is everyone, I trust you have all had a nice relaxing weekend and are now looking forward to returning to work / school !!!
I have had a good one... I did not have to go out anywhere so have managed to watch some DVD's and TV... it's nice to watch "Out Of Africa" followed by Tru Calling and a bit of Millennium, it adds a bit a variety to the day
I have not been on the site much this weekend, as I was not sure whether it would be updated or not, but this gave me time to make a banner (what do you think?). I have also added a personal picture of my pet Retriever who's nicknames "Snot"!
The other good news is that I have now had my first 2 submissions accepted
and that has elevated me to level 6

Other than that, there's not much to report I'm afraid, as I say, it was just a nice lazy weekend which I really enjoyed.
Well, that's all from me at the moment... better get back to work and try and make a living!! Bye

"What a difference a day makes"
Hi, how is everyone... sorry I haven't posted alot these last few days but I have been busy sorting out cars, and other time consuming things
I am pleased to say that I have taken the plunge and ordered a new "reliable" car, which should arrive at the beginning of next week, but even more importantly than that. . . I have finally reached level 5
(stops to savour the moment!)
I am looking forward to this weekend, as I have not got anything to do... I dont't have to work, I don't have to go out (other than to walk my dog) and I don't have any chores to do either, which means that I have a nice pleasent couple of days where I can catch up on my DVD viewing, and I cannot wait.
I am not sure about you guys, but do you bother writing reviews and submissions at the weekend - I ask because last weekend when I wrote loads of stuff, they never updated the levels, so I never got any credit for them. I am not sure whether this happens often or not, but it was annoying.
Anyway, i'm going to leave you in peace for a while - I feel like i'm on a roll, and make even make level 6 today, so i'm busy writting my reviews.
Hope everybody has a great weekend, and see you next week. Bye.

Short but Sweet - a quick update.
Well, just a short one today as I am so tired - I have been trying to sort out my car, after it failed it's MOT. I have pretty much convinced myself that I need a new one.. it's now working out how I can afford it!!!
As for this site, I have written a few episode reviews today, and submitted an epsiode recap for the first time - I will have to see if that developes into anything.
I do not seem to be progressing very far at the moment, as you can see I am still stuck on level 4, and that elusive next level seems so far away!
I am well impressed with all the comments that where left after my last blog - sorry I couldn't reply to you all, I wanted to, but as you can imagine, time has been severly lacking in my life at the moment. I will take the time now though to say "Hi everyone, and cheers for the comments".
Well, I think that's all I've done since last time... hopefully when I get my car sorted, and get home from work on time (yes, those buses are still awful) I will be able to spend a bit of time on the site getting to know you guys better, which will be cool.
Until then however, I bid you farewell for today.. thanks for stopping by and hopefully the next time I see you, I will be that magic "level 5!"

I never knew a weekend could be so eventfull...
Well, what an eventfull few days... so much has happened and I have so little to show for it.
Firstly my car failed it's MOT which means that I now have to get a bus to work, which means getting up 1/2 hour early and not getting back untill an hour later!!! Not only does that mean I am bored and cross when I get home, but it also means that I miss the Buffy re-runs on TV
To tell the truth I was half expecting it to fail because I have not really looked after it as it was an old second hand car that was full of dents and scratches. I knew it needed new front brakes and new tyres but I didn't know that it would also need a new exhaust, new clutch, one new suspension spring and a new timing belt... all sounds very expensive. I'm thinking at the moment that it might be better to just scrap it and get a new one, but we'll see.
Now, on to nicer things.... I want to thank everybody that has left comments on these blogs, and also to the people that have sent me PM's, it is really nice to know there are so many friendly folk out there that make you feel welcome, I have tried to write back to all of you, but if I have missed anyone than many apologies.
I have done a few things on the site since my last blog, like writting a couple of show reviews, meeting and greeting people on the forums (they do like to confuse me though with all these abbreviations!!!), and I have also managed to send 3 submissions for a little known English person (I thought it would be best to practice on the unknown incase I muck it up
) Anyway, I am not sure how long they will take to appear as I am only on level 4 "STILL" but it would be a nice thing to have under my belt if they do decide to use them... I will keep you posted on any developments.
Well, that about rounds things off for me, I hope all you lot are well and happy. Hopefully see you again here shortley.

It's about time I introduced myself...
I have been around TV.com for over a week now when it dawned on me that you probably don't know a thing about me. Well, let me try and fill you in....
My name is draskers, I'm 26, male and I live in a beautiful historic town just on the outskirts of Birmingham, UK. I work full time as a Sales and Marketing Executive, which is a job that I love.
In my spare time I relax by listening to rock music and reading, my prefered type of book is either a biography or a good thriller. I also dabble at playing guitar, and have also just started to play golf - a sport that I seem to have a natural talent for being bad at!!! My favorite type of sport is motor racing, the pinicle being F1. I have been to several races across Europe, and my ambition is to someday come across to America to visit Indianapolis Speedway and Laguna Seca.
My absolute passion in life is my DVD collection. At the moment I have over 350, most of them TV series, which is how I discovered this site. When looking for a good series to watch I always read the reviews here before purchasing my next box set. I prefere TV series as an alternate to films, as the character depth, story lines and twisting plots are always fullfilled and more dynamic. If there was only one TV show in the world, my choice would most certainly be for Buffy as no other show combines so many great themes - action, suspence, horror, comedy and emotion. It is also one of the best writen shows on TV due to the great range of characters, involving story lines and totaly original content. It really is a master piece.
Well, there you go, that's me... not much I know, but I'm happy with it! If you see me around the forums, please say Hi.
Ohh yer... I forgot to say thanks for dropping by!!!

Updates & Ambitions
Well, it's been about a week since I signed up with TV.com and I am happy to say I'm loving the site. I have been busy writing my reviews on my favourite actors and shows, and have completed reviewing all the episodes in the first series of Buffy. I enjoyed writing the reviews as it made me think why I like a particular episode and think about it's strengths, instead of just sitting there looking blankley at the screen.
I am also delighted to have had a comment from my last blog, just goes to show that all this high-tech stuff really does work!!
I seem to have progressed several levels as well, as you can see I have now reached the dizzy height of level three - only 15% from level four. I still haven't worked out how points are allocated yet (if you know please PM me), but it is still very rewarding to be creeping up the ranks.
My aim this week, well, I still feel like "the new bloke" so I am going to spend more time in the forums to try and get to know people... you never know, one day I might even make a friend!
Anyway, that's your lot from this blog today - thanks for stopping bye.

Can this be classed as a blog?
It seems a little ironic to be sitting here writting this, as I have no idea what a blog is, or where it goes when it has been written. Can I only have one blog at a time, or do I have a complete set that I can use whenever I feel the mood strikes. When I click the "submit" button at the bottom of this page, will I ever see my blog again? So many mixed emotions mixed with utter confusion, I don't know for sure if I like this bloging concept.
Well, lets take the plunge and give it a go - I am going to hit that dreaded "submit" button that's been taunting me for the last ten minutes..... If any one out there should ever find this blog and read it, please give it back, after all, it is mine (even though I don't know yet how to look after it !!!)
