Slipknot Rock/Pop

For most people if you were to base what you think about a band on image these guys would more then likely end up on you're "What the ****?" list of artist and musicians. But the thing with this band is that you really cant base this band on image only. Because the truth is Slipknot is full of some of the best musicians that this country has had to offer in a long time. Corey, Mick, James, Paul, Chris, Shawn, Craig, Joey, and Sid are all amazing people and great musicians. Not just anybody could pull off what these guys have. From their absolutly amazing and ground breaking first album "Slipknot", the great follow up album "Iowa", and now "Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses", Slipknot has proven that there is ONLY ONE when it comes to modern metal that sound and perform as amazing as these guys do.

So if you're looking for some no bull, straight up, hardcore, in-your-face metal these are the guys for you...... Masks, Jumpsuits and all!

Album Review

When I first heard anything from Slipknot I had no idea about the masks or the Neo-shock-rock image of the band. I just heard a killer song called "Wait And Bleed". After hearing that song I had to hear the rest of the album. Well with luck a friend had bought the first printing of the album and I was able to get a copy from him to listen to. I fell in love with it from the start. When it kicked into "(SiC)" I was in awe of the power that was blowing my ears out and song after song I was more an more impressed. "EyeLEss" was one of my absolute favorites. The way they mixed high paced drum&bass loops with out right full on Metal floored me. Corey's voice has always impressed me. His being able to scream like no-one I've ever heard and then come back to beautiful melodic singing is just incredible, but I'm getting off track a little.

The album has many key tracks and I really think that "Slipknot" is a highly inspirational album for future metal bands. From the highly powerful and in-your-face songs like "Surfacing", "Spit It Out", "Liberate", "No Life", and "Only One", to the paranoia and dimented songs like "Prosthetics", "Diluted", "SCi SS O R S", and by far the best track on this entire album "Purity", this album was not only a launtching point for the band but is an album that will go down in Metal history as being one of the most creative and envolope-pushing albums of all time.

******* "Purity" appears only on the original release along with "Frail Limb Nursery" (these tracks were replaced by "Me Inside" do to copyright issues)*******
