MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
So Christmas is finally here and although I'm getting to the age where it makes no difference, it's nice just to have some time at home after a crazy month or two. I think I got just about everything I wanted which wasn't a lot. Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360, a new 1tb hard drive for my computer, and the newest Stereophonics CD. I got other less important stuff as well though! ![]()
Next week I shall go all out and get some new clothes in the sales. I've been holding off for ages now for the sales to make things cheaper as I'm not buying cheap tat like I normally make do with.
Everyone have a great day and normal service shall resume next week! ![]()

Another year, another bland X-Factor winner song scoring the Chrittmas number one. Wait a minute, not this time. It seems that Joe McElderry's version of "The Climb" didn't scoop the top spot due to the Facebook campaign for Rage Against The Machine's, "Killing In The Name".
Now I'm glad for any song to get numbero uno during the festive period that isn't from the Simon Cowell factory of tackiness but damn it, that RATM song is a load of crap. I had to switch if off after a minute. But here's the Christmas number 1 no less .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkuOAY-S6OY

Just heard last night that actress Brittany Murphy passed away at the age of 32. The actress went into cardiac arrest on Sunday morning but as of now, there has been no confirmation on how the actress passed away. Very shocking news, a lot of celebrity death this year and 32 is certainly no age.
Here's the single she did a couple of years ago with Paul Oakenfield .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypioNVOm1GI
I'm not big on club songs but I do enjoy that one.

Last year I did an LGBT Christmas Blog for GCN and this year, I did it again and crossposted it to my blogger. For anyone interested, it's here .... http://shawnlunn2002.blogspot.com/2009/12/12-shows-of-christmas-guide.html
Merlin - 2x12/2x13: The Fires Of Idirsholas/The Last Dragonlord

Not bad episodes but I got a feeling that both of them could've been better.
- Morgause is a wonderful complex character, arguably even more successful than Nimueh. I was surprised that she called everything off when Merlin poisoned Morgana.
- I like Arthur, I really do but he can be an idiot at times. Merlin needs to stand up to him more.
- Merlin as a dragonlord, okay I'll bite. Dragon's coming back next season, yes?
- Nice to get a bit more on Merlin's family life. Too bad his father had to die in the finale though.
Season 3 will debut in late 2010.
True Blood - 2x05/2x06: Never Let Me Go/Hard-Hearted Hannah

Superb episodes, this show keeps getting better and better.
- Jessica and Hoyt are definitely the best couple on the series. He went to Dallas for her.
- Of course the Fellowship would know who Sookie was. Hope Jason comes to her aid.
- Daphne's one of Maryann's lot. Poor Sam. He can't catch a break with women, huh?
- Bill and Lorena's relationship reeks of Angel and Darla, don't it?
Reviews for these episodes are up here and on my blogspot. I'll catch up with Release Me and Time Bomb soon.
Series Previews
Doctor Who - The End Of Time Parts 1 And 2

Starring: David Tennant, John Simm, Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate, David Harewood, Tracy Ifeacor, Jacqueline King, Brian Cox, Timothy Dalton, June Whitfield, Claire Bloom, John Barrowman, Elisabeth Sladen, Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman*, Camille Coduri, Tommy Knight, Alexandra Moen, Sylvia Seymour, Sinead Keenan, Russell Tovey and Matt Smith*.
Start Dates: Christmas Day, 6pm (Part 1) and New Year's Day, 6.40pm (Part 2) on BBC1 as well as Boxing Day/January 2nd 9pm and 8.30pm for BBC America.
Synopsis: As the Doctor hurtles towards his latest regeneration, the Master is resurrected on Christmas Eve with chaos ensuing. Joshua Naismith and his daughter, Abigail are determined to open up the Immortality Gate, which the OOd warn the Doctor could cause the end of time itself. As Donna is set to marry, her memories are being triggered by Naismith's book and Wilfred becomes the latest travelling companion.
Yay/Nay: Are you kidding? This is the television equivalent of bliss. David Tennant was never gonna go out quietly and this story is certainly action packed enough by the wave of spoilers that have been coming at us for the last couple of days. Plus the joy of Wilfred as a companion and the returns of Donna and the Master. If this is the only thing I watch during the Christmas period, it will be worth it.
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wihhBpGCvkA
* Not confirmed if in the finale but have been widely rumoured of making appearances.
Being Human - Season 2

Starring: Russell Tovey, Aidan Turner, Lenora Crichlow and Sinead Keenan.
Start Date: Sundays 9.30pm on BBC3 from January 10th.
Synopsis: It's been months since the death of Herrick and it's created ripples in the underworld for Mitchell to sort. Annie on the other hand tries getting out more while George and Nina deal with the possibility of the latter being a werewolf. Vampire couple Ivan and Daisy decide to pay a visit to Bristol while Kemp and Professor Jaggart keep their eyes out for the gang.
Yay/Nay: Undeniably one of the best shows of 2009, the series looks set to gain momentum in it's second year. More episodes (8 instead of 6) should help develop things out better and the slew of villains will definitely keep the gang busy. Ivan and Daisy in particular look promising though it's Jaggart and Kemp who are supposed to be the main threat of the second year.

I am just wondering if anyone else cries as much as i do. I just watched an episode of a show called Sea Patrol, which i had seen before and it was very sad as someone died and i cried most of the episode, i couldn't help myself. When i watched an episode of ER after reading about it before i cried even though i new exactly what was going to happen. When i watched Titantic for the like 6th time i cried on that 6th veiwing i had never cried watching it before, what is that all about???
It happens whether i see a show for the first time, for the 5th time whether i have read about the episode beforehand or not. Is this just me or do other people cry as well??
How's everyone doing? Man, I need to blog more. I've been on this site for about three years and I miss talking to you all regularly.
So school is starting in three days. Gah. I'm excited about journalism though. =D The new editor-in-chief says I'm going to be the Opinions Editor. I'm pumped. The Opinions Editor last year was sorta like my mentor. We're good friends now. She's like my sister. She went off to college though. =(
Anywayssss, what's new?!
LOL i got myself locked out of the OSAP site cause I typed my password wrong 3 times...with the capslock on. ****
WELL. I randomly decided to log back into tv.com and being the narcissist that I am to check myself out (my profile) and remember...all the stuff. Early days of tv.com was awesome. EXTREMELY. Now it's just so...bright, white, and facebook colours (well brighter blue). BUT YEAHHH It's basically exactly FOUR YEARS since I joined this site hahaha. (Minus a day)
The Unit is on right now. Pretty good show. Confused as to why it's aired twice in a week on the same channel though.
Rime flew to Australia today. I miss my sister!!!! Which is weird because I left home for an entire year and she's only going away for 3 weeks. ANYWAYS. She's in Los Angeles right now, WHICH I AM SO JEALOUS ABOUT. I told her, if you see any famous people YOU TAKE PICTURES. TAKE PICTURES.
Man, I need to get a passport. Then I need to get rich and be able to fly to the States or Europe or Asia, even the Middle East (but really, only Ar Riyadh - rich people = rich cushy places + desert
Oh TJ, the rich nice guy.)
Josse's in India, near New Delhi right now. I think it'd be interesting to visit some places in India (Jaipur and Chennai - I love the names, don't ask why) but I really couldn't survive the heat in the summer. I'd have to go when they have their winters...which would still be hot I'll bet.
Actually I should scratch Riyadh off my list of places since I KNOW I won't survive the desert heat. Maybe I'll hope for a stopover LOL which I doubt would happen there.
I die in 28C heat. *sigh* Oh Canada. Making me all tame and liking the snow.
I know it's been a while since I last blogged on here, but this site really isn't what it used to be! I finished 1st year college last month. It was definitely a big year for me. Made new friends, but lost some old ones. But I guess that always happens...
End of Season Reviews
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2
Season 2, though not as consistent as the first, was still pretty great! It had some VERY strong episodes and some weak ones of course. The season started off very strong, the first 7 or 8 episodes showed a lot of promise. Unfortunately things started slipping a little mid season. These weak episodes were still a lot better than some of the best episodes produced by some shows this year though! Thankfully the show redeemed itself in the last 6 episodes, with some of the best television of the season. Cameron, as per usual, stole the show. She is most definitely the glue that holds this show together. The story of the three dots was a little confusing, and at times a little silly. However the addition of Weaver was one of the best things about the season. She was played to perfection by Shirley Manson, who maintained that creepily cold feeling through every single scene. I'm devastated that the show was cancelled, but I can't say I didn't see it coming.
Best Character: Cameron
Best Episode: Born to Run. Easily the best season finale this year. Best episode of the entire series. That creepy bedroom scene between John ad Cameron was...so....weird! The ending showed what a great third season the show could have had too.
Smallville Season 8
Smallville season 8 was a good improvement over the previous disastrous season, though not the best yet. I loved the whole new feel to the show, and watching Allison Mack take on lead female was a delight. Davis and Tess were great additions to the cast, and the writers dealt with the departure of Lana and Lex surprisingly well. Not being an Oliver fan, I was really annoyed by his constant presence this season. The first half of the season was consistent enough, though there were one or two doozies in there, like Toxic. I loved Bride and Legion which showed what great things the writers could come up with if they actually tried hard enough. The second half was a lot weaker than the first, but the Chloe 'Beauty and the Beast' story was an entertaining twist. The season finale was a bit of a letdown and lacked the power that Smallville finales usually have. That being said the season did see an increase in standard over season 7, though I have my doubts over their ability to carry it on into season 9.
Best Character: Chloe. Duh!
Best Episode: Tie between Bride and Legion
Desperate Housewives Season 5
Wow. What a letdown. After an amazing fourth season, this show just became dull, repetitive and just plain annoying. Bree, once one of the greatest characters, became boring and b*tchy. Lynette's storylines just seemed to happen over and over again. Believe in your husband for God's sake! Susan's love triangle was completely ridiculous and dragged out. Despite that, seeing Gaby as a mother was hilarious, and I found myself enjoying her storylines a lot more this season. It was nice to have the old Gaby back by the second half of the season though. The Dave mystery was the most predictable one yet. Yet the writers had him featured in every episode, plaguing the show till the end of the season. Edie's death was a TERRIBLE loss to the show. I really hope to see a big improvement next year. Among those things, can the mystery be connected to Gaby or Lynette for once??
Best Character: Gaby
Best Episode: If it's only in your head. Solely due to the scene with Susan trying to protect MJ.
Thanks for reading! I've been checking up on a few other reviews posted by other users. Keep em' coming! Ttfn...( Get the Buffy Reference anyone?!)
I wrote about Ninja Warrior a few weeks ago. It's a demanding obstacle course that requires a great deal of agility, body control and upper-body bodyweight strength. Many of the 100 contestants are primarily there for entertainment purposes but the top competitors are incredibly fit athletes. In previous tournaments, elite athletes from around the world have competed too, including Olympic medalists from the U.S. in gymnastics and wrestling. Gold-medal gymnast Paul Hamm was among the most well-known of these competitors.
The recent hit, "Wipeout", is largely inspired by Ninja Warrior but it's missing some of the key elements of Ninja Warrior. In Ninja Warrior, if you fall off an obstacle, you are out of the tournament. The live crowd gives the competition a better atmosphere. And there is a growing history and tradition with Ninja Warrior, as well as a worldwide fanbase, including the U.S., the UK and Latin America as well as Japan and East Asia.
For some examples of the toughest obstacles, run an Internet search for "ninja warrior salmon ladder", "ninja warrior body prop", "ninja warrior devil steps" and so on. Or just watch the episodes this weekend.

By the way, I ran 5.15 miles on National Running Day a couple weeks ago. I hope everyone else was able to do something to help improve their fitness.
Because honestly, who really likes school?
Actually, my classes aren't so bad. Cause I'm in year 11 doing 2 year 12 subjects, I get 8 spares a week
That's 8 hours a school week of doing nothing in the common room.
Or, if it refers to last Wednesday when I had a double spare last, sneaking out with a friend who's already graduated to see Twilight an 8th and final time in cinemas.
Oh yes, I'm that obsessed.

But, not everything is good. I have holiday homework. Quite a lot too.
Also, I'm on a stupid diet cause I have to lose 10 pound for the movie I'm in. Yes, it's only a small independent film, 100 tops are gonna see it and I don't think I'm even getting paid, but I'm the lead female and I don't want the extra 10 pounds the stupid camera is going to add.
Wait, did I mention the movie in my last blog? CBF checking
It's nothing huge though. Work is work, and I'm working my way up to Kate in Breaking Dawn ![]()
I can semi-handle going to the gym though. It feels kinda strange to we working out and watching The Biggest Loser at the same time. I should really start going at 6:00 and watching the Simpsons. I'd do that tonight, but you can't watch TV unless you're doing cardio and I have my first strength session today. I have to do push-ups. So, I'm not really looking forward to that.

But TOMORROW should be awesome. I have friends coming over for a movie marathon. Don't even know which movies. I'll probably rent out a bunch staring Kristen Stewart and make everyone watch them
She's amazing though. Has anyone here seen Fierce People? She was DYNAMIC in that. Plus, she's really pretty ![]()
In other news, I'm getting into Pokemon again. Watched the show the other day, and Misty's still not there. Misty was awesome and they need to bring her back. The games are even better though. Cause you KNOW you're a better trainer than Ash will ever be
. Ash is cool though, I have nothing against him.

Well, I'm talking about nothing now. I think it's cause I'm hungry.
Stupid diet. Imma go scab some food now. And watch the Simpsons. I can hear the theme song.
Have a nice day ![]()
xoxo Sarina

PS. It's raining
Yay!
PPS. I'm posting this from GameSpot because as I've just discovered, TV.com hates MacBooks.
PPPS. Did you know you can't have > in the title? I didn't ![]()

Just dipped my little toe over the 2000 contribution mark and got my very own little Kill Bill 'Master of Contributions' merit badge. Very shiny.
Of course the next landmark is 5K contributions, so that might take a while
Well, I haven't been on here in about a year, but it's nice to be back. Feels like home. I've gotten quite a few emails saying that so-and-so is now tracking my contributions. And while I'm not sure who any of you are, I'm grateful
I take it as a compliment haha.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone!
SPOILER! (Indiana Jones) !!!
Oh! And on another note- I saw the new Indiana Jones movie tonight.. was anyone else disappointed with the aliens?? Shia was looking mighty fine though
This past year I haven't been as active on TV.com as I use to be. I've done practically everything I've wanted to do on this site and now I've decided to retire from a whole slew of guides to make way for people that come here more often than I do.

well, in a couple of hours OTH fans will watch the S5 finale
and I decided it's a great reason for my first blogpost!
everybody who has been watching OTH since the very beginning knows that S5 was not the best for the show (and for Lucas/Peyton - the couple that I'm rooting for!) but it still had some really great moments... so I dedicate this blogpost to top 5 my favorite Leyton scenes in S5. but who knows, maybe in season finale we'll get some other great Leyton moment ![]()
number 5

episode: 5. I Forgot To Remember To Forget
scene: Leyton's meeting
quote: Lucas: So, what are you wearing? - Peyton: Luke, I can't do that right now. I'm at work. - Luke: I'm thinking a Pink Floyd tee over the long-sleeve white shirt and maybe those sexy jeans with the hole in the knee? - Peyton: Wow. You are good! - Lucas: Yes, I am. Really good.
music: --
why: it's the only S5 scene where Lucas and Peyton are happy together - so it's really nice to see them being SO into each other in the past but knowing that they are not a couple in the present.
number 4

episode: 8. Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
scene: Leyton's farewell
quote: Peyton: I was reminded today in a roundabout way that the most perfect act of love is sacrifice. It's what Keith did for Karen: burying his feelings for her for all those years so he could be a good friend. I love you, Lucas. And I think I have since the first moment we locked eyes and it is going to suck but if what you want is for me to let go then I'm gonna do it. Be happy, Luke. I want that with all my heart.
music: --
why: oh, c'mon! this scene could melt the heart even of the people who don't care... I started to cry since her first words "think maybe Whitey will let you out of practice early so we can catch a movie". and if Luke just said smth back (at least called her name) this scene probably would take higher position.
number 3

episode: 7. In Da Club
scene: Leyton's kiss
quote: Lucas: What do you want from me? I flied to LA, I asked you to marry me, you said 'no', so I moved on. Why haven't you? - Peyton: 'Cause I should have said 'yes'. Luke, I was young, and I was scared, and I did not realize that by saying 'I wasn't ready', it would mean that we would never be together again. Had I known that I would have said 'yes'. - Lucas: Peyton. - Peyton: No, Luke, I miss you every day. And I have told everyone here that I didn't come back for you but I did. Of course I did. I still love you, Lucas.
music: "Stay Away" by the Honorary Title (No, I can't dance less it's slow or sad to a song that's far less obvious. You using me, do it slowly, make it last until I have to go. Stay away from, stay away from, stay away from me...)
why: I cried again... Lucas was screaming, Peyton was almost crying...and then she kissed him and he kissed her back and I felt like I was flying. and I thought 'yay! that's the moment for Leyton's reunion" but in the end of the episode... well, everybody knows what happened in the end of the episode
but it still gave us some hope for the future!
number 2

episode: 6. Don't Dream, It's Over
scene: Leyton's fight
quote: Peyton: I wanted you so bad, but you gave up on us. - Lucas: I gave up on us? By proposing I gave up on us? - Peyton: No! By not waiting you gave up on us, and you know that's the truth! - Lucas: That's great, Peyton! You wanna talk truth, let's tell the truth! You gave up on me! That's why you didn't say 'yes', you didn't think I could do it! You didn't think I could get my novel published, maybe you just didn't care, because it wasn't about you, or what you wanted. - Peyton: Well, if that's the truth, if I never cared, then how come every time I see this stupid book I buy it every stupid damn time, Luke. You said I was great! You said I could be great! You said we were destined to be together! You said it to the world, you said it to me and I wish you never had because you did not mean any of it!
music: --
why: well, probably I just like when the actors are screaming
in fact, it was really strong scene and I was almost crying. if they fight then they still feel smth to each other. and btw I was just too tired of them whining all the time (I guess, Luke and Peyton are the most whining characters - have no idea why they are my favorites
) so this fight refreshed everything. and they were both just so awesome, so great in this scene that I was watching it with open mouth ![]()
and finally...
NUMBER 1

episode: 5. I Forgot To Remember To Forget
scene: Leyton's proposal
quote: Lucas: Yesterday was a great day. And I'm sitting on the bus and I realize that none of my great days in my life matter without you. You're the one I want next to me when my dreams come true. You're the one I want next to me if they don't. As long as I have you nothing else matters. - Peyton: There's... it's just not as simple as all of that, okay. - ... - Lucas: You're saying 'no'. - Peyton: No! I am not saying 'no', I am saying 'not now'. I want to marry you someday. Hey, don't do that, don't pull away from me, okay? I want us to be together. I love you so much. - Lucas: Just not enough... - Peyton: Okay. Can we take this back? Can we just pretend like you never woke up, please? - Lucas: I don't think we can. - Peyton: I'm afraid that this conversation is going to end with... - Lucas: Goodbye...
music: "Where I Stood" by Missy Higgins (I don't know what I've done or if I like what I've begun, but something told me to run and, honey, you know me it's all or none. There were sounds in my head, little voices whispering that I should go and this should end and I found myself listening. 'Cos I don't know who I am, who I am without you. All I know is that I should... And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you. All I know is that I should... 'Cos she will love you more than I could. She who dares to stand where I stood...)
why: were there any doubts that Leyton's fan will choose exactly this scene as the most favorite in S5? well, first of all, it's the longest Leyton scene not only for S5 but for the whole show, I guess - so it's always cool to watch your fave characters for like 5 or even more minutes! secondly, it's the most beautiful proposal in the OTH history (just if she said 'yes' or he said 'okay, blondie, I'll wait till you're ready!' - why didn't they?) and really appropriate beautiful music. and finally... well, I don't know what's finally. that's the scene that showed us why Luke and Peyton were not together anymore - and it just broke my heart! (probably, I love not only screaming actors but also broken hearts
) and it was their last scene as a couple... last for S5 - we still have S6 and believe me, that season will have more great Leyton moments!
Hi everyone!
I took part in Jack Petchey's Speak out! competition at my school it was really good because we were coached in how to speak infront of a crowd. Our body language, eyecontact, pace etc it was really interesting because you could really see people developing throughout the day as we learnt new things!
Well the competition itself came towards the end of the day when we were given the task of preparing a speech about a subject we felt strongly about to present to the rest of the group. I choose the fact that the emergency services are underpayed, it just annoys me that certain porfessions get paid more when the emergency services are so valuble. Anyway I was really nervous and shaking and it soon came to my turn but when I stood up I just thought 'I'm gonna go for it there's no point my nerves getting to me'. So I blitzed through it and it turns out...
I came second
Which means I'm through to the Borough final but I'm not sure if I'm a reserve or actually speaking, but it'll be a good experience!
I'm thinking of buying Knocked up and Superbad has anybody seen them and would you recommend?
Hope everyone's had a good week so far ![]()
Rant over. I feel better now ![]()
Ok, so a lot has happened since I last blogged. Lost my job, fired for the first tima and I'm still not sure why! But motivated me to get my butt back to school. So I'm currently working on my BS in Psychology, yay me. Very recently had some serious family events that scared the life outta me, but you got to love them and hope for the best. um yeah, actually i think that's about it. Boring, huh?
Ok list of shows I'm excited to see come back this season:
Chuck - surprised me but I really got into it, the elements of mystery and comedy always get me
Girlfriends - Not really on my Must-See-Every-Week list, but I enjoy it when i catch it.
Medium - I love this stuff. Not only the mysteries of each episode, but also the supernatural, but it-could-really-happen ascpects
NCIS - I LOVE Abby! Goth genius science chick, she never fails to crack me up!
House - Didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I am. ER grosses me out, so I figured this would be too much for me too, but House's attitude makes it hard to miss...I do cheat and close my eyes (and cover my ears) during some of the hard-to-watch gross parts though. ![]()
Reaper - This is stupid funny. You don't really have to think about it, but you can still enjoy.
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit - I love this cast and the stories are just more interesting to me then the other Law and Order shows.
Supernanny
Las Vegas - I miss Mary and it's not quite the same without Ed, but still there's the anticipation of Danny and Delinda's baby...I'm thinking girl
Extreme Makeover Home Edition - Ty. The stories and transformations are just so amazing... don't think I've made it through one episode yet without crying.
Desperate Housewives - I'm starting to get back into it again.
Dirt - Come on Don do something very weird!
ok I'm sleepy, should go to bed, got TONS of reading (6 chapters) for school to do. YUCK
