March Update

I just wanted to hop on here and shout out a few updates. I've been working hard and living well and things are going great. Most importantly, I have a Wii Only a close second to that is that I'm getting married and will be a step-dad to two awesome kids in July Hooray for me!

I started skateboarding last summer and am still doing that. It's so much fun. And I play soccer twice a week now instead of just Thursday nights. I'm also in the full swing of painting again. You can see some of my work here:

I paint mainly portraits and Star Wars stuff. My geekhood is in full swing

Let's see, what else?? I saw "300" and it rocked the house. I'm introducing my soon-to-be-kids to anime... and not just the manga Airbender stuff but the really cool feature-length films. I'm going to become a team member of the Concretins this year hopefully. They are a skate team based right here in L'ville. We're also looking for a house. That's really exciting! Oh, and I think I had the worst NCAA bracket of all time. Weak.

I need to catchup on some of you and see how gaming, fatherhood, and life in general is treating you all. I hope to do that soon. For now, EB says "Hello again!"

A Brand New Me

Well, things have certainly changed for Mr. Brinley these last few months. I said goodbye to Stacy who moved to Fort Collins, CO. I took out my tongue stud after nearly six and a half years of wearing it. I cut off my mohawk and dyed my hair blond. And I don't wear my favorite necklace any longer ('cause it broke). I'm doing what I can to make myself feel different these days 'cause I'm tired of feeling so crappy. Dealing with the loss of Stacy and continuing to deal with a wide mix of emotions after divorce, I'm trying to kickstart some changes for the better.

While I'm at it, check out these awesome pix of Rocky Mountain National Park...

I hate to admit that I don't really like the new Gamespot site but I'm trying to get back into the habit of blogging here. Oh, and thanks to all my friends that helped me through these last few months. That list includes current buddies (Stephanie, Damon, Wade, Jed, and Davies), old buddies (JAT, Rickard, Andy, Finke, EJ, and Houston), and GS buddies (rudyroundhead and giantek).  Peace.

Been in a funk...

Just wanted to post something really fast. I've been in a rotten mood for days and I haven't been sleeping well. Someone pointed out that my anniversary would have been next week if I were still married. Maybe that's it. Stacy's leaving for Colorado in less than two weeks. I'm certain that has something to do with it too. I looked through old pix of my ex-wife, my cats, old friends, and some other stuff last night. I got *real* drunk. I'd be concerned if I didn't think this was just part of the healing process. I'm taking more "Life After Divorce" pix Thursday night after my soccer game. That might help. Peace.

OMG... I just bought a N64 for $17!!!

I went to EBGames with some coworkers today after lunch. There isn't anything out right now that I want (Resident Evil 4 and playing Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike on Hard have me pretty occupied), so I figured I'd just go and thumb through their pre-played library. After doing that and then checking out used DVDs, I decided to go see what creepy Todd MacFarlane toys they had in stock. On my way there I came across a pre-played Nintendo 64 for only $17.

Now, I was an avid (some might say ravenous) Nintendo 64 player. When I had a roommate, we would constantly be playing MarioKart 64, Mario Golf 64, Mario Tennis, or Conker's Bad Fur Day multi-player. I think I've gone through 9 controllers since I bought the original console. We definitely put our time into it. So when the old thing broke down about 9 months ago (I don't know exactly when... maybe *before* the divorce) I was pretty much crushed. But I was able to get over it since I already owned a GameCube and had *just* purchased my Halo edition Xbox.

But, alas, I have missed the N64. I have missed it more than I ever thought I would. But now... NOW!!! Now I have a not-so-new one to play with!! Bwahahahaha!!! I've already called my cousin and he is coming over tonight after his volleyball game. With luck, I'll manage to get a few hours sleep

Oh, and check this out... I e-mailed Stacy and told her about my purchase and she wrote back "I remembered playing 007 all day long". Man-o-man! Is that girl the coolest or is she teh coolest!?! Peace.

I am so lucky these days!

On Friday I went home after work and settled down to some dull TV. I had plans to go out that night as well as to watch Battlestar Galactica. Stacy came over and we hung out. Stephanie came over during the show. After BSG, we were all ready to go and I just didn't feel good (it turns out that I caught a milder version of some stomach bug that my cousin is suffering from). I was pretty bummed 'cause I'd been looking forward to going out all week. I sent them on their way and layed down. How was that lucky? Well, the girls ran into Andrea... my ex-wife's roommate and best friend as soon as they walked into The Red Lounge. Whew! Bullet dodged

On Saturday night I hosted a poker game. There was $110 in the pot, which equated to a little over $22,000 in chips. Stephanie bowed out at third leaving Damon and myself to battle it out. We were about even in chips. He went all in on a pair of Queens. I called him with two pair - 3s and 4s. He hit his third Queen on the River, leaving me with a single $500 chip. How was that lucky? Well, over the next 40 minutes, I proceeded to dismantle his stack and eventually won on Ace-King when he went all in with a pair of 9s (caught a King on the River - I rule)

On Sunday night I attempted to host another game of poker. Unfortunately, most everyone called in sick. How was that lucky? Stacy and Stephanie (the only two who showed) agreed to a double-feature of Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2. It was kewl

On Monday night I came home, ran some errands with Stacy, and went back to my place. How was that lucky? Well, she insisted that I play Resident Evil 4 while she watched... which we did until half past midnight. She rules! Peace.

About Me

I am an avid gamer. I have owned every Nintendo gaming console and also now own an Xbox. I'm really into FPS games and squad-based games. I like the occasional sports, fighting, and simulation game. I don't like driving games - at all (besides MarioKart, which isn't quite a traditional driving game). I'm currently getting plenty of PT in on my spankin' new Nintendo Wii.
