Be quick to learn and wise to know
After some time you will percieve the subtle difference between give a hand and to help a soul.
And then you learn that to love doesn't mean support and that company not always means security. You start to learn that kisses are not contracts and that presents are not promises.
You start to accept your defeat in life with your head up and looking ahead of you with an adult smile and not with the sadness of a child. And you learn to build up all your paths today, because tomorrow's path is very uncertain and the future has the habit to fall in the void.
After a time you learn that the sun will burn you if you get exposed too long and you learn that doesn't matter how much you value yourself, some people just won't care about you. And you accept that doesn't matter how good a person is, this person will hurt you and you will need to forgive him/her.
You learn that just talking you can ease griefe. You discover that takes years to build up trust but just mere seconds to destroy it. That you can do o say somthing in a second that you will regret the rest of your life.
You learn that true friendship keeps growing even in the distance and that what it really matters is not what you have in life but who you are in this life, and that good friends are the family we choose.
You learn that we don't have to change our friends if we understand that friends can change and appreciate that you and your friends can do anything or nothing at all but still have good moments together.
You discover that those you love most can have a short life and that's why we should always left them with loving words, because it could be the last time we see them.
You learn that circunstances and the enviroment can have an influence in our lifes but we are responsible for ourselves.
You start to learn that we shouldn't make comparitions between ourselves but with the best we can be.
You discover that it takes long to be the person you want to be. That time is short.
Your learn that doesn't matter where you arrived but where are you going, but if you don't know where to go, anyplace can be of use.
You learn that or you control your acts or they will control you and thatto be flexible doesn't mean to be weak or not to have personality because doesn't matter how delicate or fragil a situation can be there will always be two sides.
You learn that Heroes are those who made what was necessary facing the consequences.
You learn that patience requires a lot of practice.
You discover that sometimes who you most expect to hurt you when you are down is one of the few who will help you to keep going.
You learn that maturity has more to do with the kind of experience you had and you learned with them than with how old you are.
You learn that there's more on you of your parents that you want to admit. You learn that you never should say a child that dreams are nonsense, there's nothing more humiliating and it would be a real tragedy that they would believe it.
Your learn that when you are irascible you have the right to be, but nothing gives you the right to be cruel.
You discover that just because someone doesn't love you like you want doesn't mean he/she doesn't love you with all their soul because there's people that love us but doesn't know how to show it or to live it.
You learn that not always is enough to be forgiven sometimes you will have to forgive yourself.
You learn that with the same strictness you judge you will be judge someday.
You learn that doesn't matter how many pieces you heart has been broken, the world won't stop until you recover yourself. You learn that time is not something you can turn back.
So plant your garden and decorate your soul instead of waiting that someone brings you flowers. And learn that you really can get through anything after thinking that you cant't.
Ya vienen los Reyes ( The wise men reyes magos)
On January 6th we celebrate El dia de reyes, the epiphany remembering the day when the three wise men following the star of Bethlehem arrived bearing their treusured gifts of Gold, Frankincense and myrrh for the baby Jesus.
A couple of days earlier in some cases a couple of months earlier(gyilty
) childrens write their letters to the wise men or to their favourite Rey mago, Melchor, Gaspar or Baltasar asking for the presents they would like to recieve.
On the night of January 5 the figurines of the three wise men are added to the nativity scene, I remember always putting them the fourth to make them come quickier
I alwyas thought it was a good idea, never worked anyway, they always come the nigt of january 5
Before going to bed we placed our shoes under the tree some cookies and milk and water for the camels, in my case I always put anisstte, I thought they would need something more strong to keep going
,they had to give too many presents to too many childrens and that was a really had work. My mother always said no, anissete no The wise men don't drink alcohol, and Ialways replayed, yes anissete yes cos they are gonna need it. and we will spend like an hour discussing about the anissete.![]()
I always waked up first and as a possesed went to the tree to see if the wise men had brought me all that I wanted, never did, but I liked the presents anyway and I was so happy that I run to my parents bed (poor parents, they were still sleeping) and I would jump on the bed screaming I got my presents I got my presents jumping on their bed. Still I wonder how my parents survived at that days and they didn't die of a heart attack
we spend the day playing with our presents and admiring more the presents others received sharing them with our friends, some of us even would swear they heard the Camel's footsteps. Meanwihile adults would prepare "la merienda de reyes", an early evening dinner with the roscade reyes, an oval sweetbread decorated with candied fruit. Hidden inside this delicious Rosca there is a figurine that simbolizes the need to find a secure place where jesus could be born without being found for Herodes. Each person cuts a slice of the Rosca and one by one we seek for the figurine. The one who find it is the host and in my house should make the washing. I always prayed not to find it.![]()
I missed so much those days, so innocent. Los Reyes magos always belonged to children but still I wait this day with expectancy.

True love
I read this story a few days ago and it touched my heart so I wanted to share it with you.
An elderly man come to the clinic where I work to heal a wound in his right hand. He was in a hurry and while I was treating his wound I asked him what was that that he needed to do so urgentely.
He told me that he had to go to the old's people home to have breakfast with his wife who lives there. He told me that his wife was in that place since long and that she had a very advanced alzheimer.
While I was finishing bandaging his hand, I asked him again if she would be worried in case he was late that morning.
No, he told me, she doesn't know who am I. It's been 5 years since she doesn't recognise me.
I was confused and asked him. If she doesn't know who you are, why you need to go to have breakfast with her every morning?
The elderly man smiled to me and clapped my hands tenderly and told me.
she doesn't know who am I but I still know who she is.
You see guys, that's the kind of love I want in my life. True love is not just about appereance and romanticism, true love is to accept everything the other one is, would be and never would be again.
In the faces of men and women I see God.
HUMANITY
For every strong woman tired of pretending weakness, there's a weak man tired of trying to look strong.
For every woman tired to have to act like a fool, there's a man burdened by having to pretend to know it all.
For every woman tired of being qualified as "emotional female", there's a man who's been denied the right to cry and to be sensible.
For every woman catalogued as less females when compete, there's a man obliged to compete so nobody doubts about his masculinity.
For every woman tired to be treated like a sexual object, there's a man worried about his sexual power.
For every woman who has not have acces to a job or a satisfactory salary, there's a man who must assume the economic responsibility of other human being.
For every woman who doesn't know about the car's mechanism, there's a man who hasn't learned about the secrets of cooking.
For every woman who gives a step towards her own liberation there's a man who rediscover the road toward liberty.
Humanity has two wings: One is the woman and the other is the man
Until the two wings are not equaly developed, humanity won't be able to fly.
We need a new humanity. We need to fly.
Now more than ever, women's cause is all humanity's cause. B.BOURTROS GHALI.
Police found Fatima, malnourished and suffering from dehydration in Iraq's scorching summer heat, hidden under rubbish in one of southern Baghdad's most violent districts.
How she got there is not clear, although there is speculation her mother hid her before she was killed
