S'up, B!tches?
Behold, I am now enjoying my winter break. My 1st semester of college is finally over, and it wasn't too bad, but some of my exams were pretty tough. My finals were pretty much easy, though, except for my Chemistry final, which was kind of a b!tch.
Anyways, I just came by to comment on this site since I realized that it has now pretty much been dead without my awesomeness to keep it alive. **Sigh** Yes, I know you are all angry that I couldn't keep my awesome self here, but when you realize that you're just too good for a site, you kind of have to leave it. Still, I have sympathy for all of you young underlings here, and perhaps one day you will be cool enough to join Animation Revelation, the site which I now reside on. ![]()
Well, anyways, I honestly don't really have much to say. As far as anime goes, I've kind of lost a lot of interest in it. Most shounen today are pretty bland and dull, and despite what people say, even if seinen may be more mature, many of them also have tons of unlikable and despicable characters to ruin their enjoyment factor. Also, 99% of harem anime is garbage (its pretty much like softcore hentai, for the most part, as far as I can see), and even though I do like myself a good romance story, the fact of the matter is that most anime do a seriously amateur job at developing good romance, in my honest opinion. So, recently, I've just been revisiting some of the classics, as well as watching some older stuff in general.
I started Fist of the North Star, a few days ago, and its pretty good. I love the martial arts, and the Bruce Lee inspired character, Kenshiro.
I've also been reading the Dragon Ball manga, and its absolutely excellent. It reminds me of the elements that drew me into shounen anime in the first place, and makes me wonder why most modern shounen anime, which do take influence from it, can't try and at least copy of the elements of it that actually worked really well.
As for games, I'm STILL playing Ninja Gaiden 2, partly because its a fun challenge to try and overcome the higher difficulties, but mainly because I simply can't afford to buy anything new, especially since I'm spending all of the money that I currently have, which is not in my bank account, on gifts for my family and friends.
Well, that's all, folks. ![]()
If any of my old friends actually happen to be on this site, leaving a comment would be nice. In fact, anyone can pretty much feel free to leave some response comments on this blog of mine. Seriously, you don't have to be intimidated by my awesomeness to feel that you just aren't cool enough to comment on my blog (even though you really aren't
).

... and it's not just anime that I'm not really getting attached to, nowadays, either. I mean besides the obligatory Bleach, Naruto and One Piece manga, I haven't really been doing anything resembling any kind of attachment to any kind of hobby. It's kinda weird not having anything to fall back on besides that conflabbed facebook now. It's just so... weird.
How have you been ensatsu-ken? I'm still hanging around here. I actually visited your profile recently.
As for me, I am a week away from Christmas break, though for me it's only two weeks long (for you isn't like... a month?). As for anime, I have totally lost interest in it. In fact, I don't try out any new television shows anymore. I just watch what I already like.
So that's me right now. Try to reply to this post.
petewrigley: Well, its nice to see you here, again....even though you should be coming onto AR more often!
Darkknight313: Thanks.
talonmalon333: Yeah, I've been doing fine. How about you?
As for anime, yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are. I just realized after seeing all of the good shounen, there aren't any others out there that can catch my interest, and those most of those so called more mature romance and seinen stuff are filled with unlikable characters and are just lame and cheesy (there are lots of good ones, though, to be fair). I'll be checking out Romeo X Juliet once the FUNimation dub comes out for it, and I'll try to collect the Hunter X Hunter DVD's as Viz releases them, but other than that, there aren't really any other anime series that interest me at all, that I have't already seen.
My Christmas Break is a total of 3 weeks, which is still pretty damn good, if you ask me.
Oh, BTW, I believe the Resident Evil 5 demo came out via XBOX Live and PSN. I think I'll go download it and play it, now....haha, its funny, because that's your most anticipated game to come out, if I'm not mistaken, and if you haven't already played the demo, then I will get to try it before you do.
Still, you SHOULD get an XBOX360 if you have the money. It has tons of classic games via XBL Arcade, and many of its newer titles are actually rather good, by today's lazy gaming standards.
Most anime does suck. I can't say my taste in anime has changed much since I knew most of it was cliched BS a long time ago. I actually got a lot of good anime I still need to watch (Guyver Remake, Shigurui, Saint Seiya, and Hajime No Ippo especially since a new season is coming) and Afro Samurai Season 2 and Viper's Creed look pretty good.
Three weeks? That's nice, although I know people in college that have... six to seven weeks... Then again I guess an E class such as yourself can't afford missing a month.
Resident Evil 5 looks like it will be one of the best games ever. But as for the XBOX 360, I just don't know. The Sony PlayStation 3 is currently, if you ask me, one of the worst systems ever. But I don't think it will remain that way forever.
I just plain don't watch anime anymore. I read manga instead. I'm outraged that there's another HxH hiatus by the way. We were finally going to get to see Meurum too
LSyd: Thanks, and its nice to see you too, buddy.
talonmalon333: Unforatunately, a low level member such as yourself could not comprehend the secret of making posts and are not clumped together.
Resident Evil 5 sure does look awesome, but it'll be hard for any new game to even come close to being the best game ever, for me, when they have stuff like NGB and great Zelda games for me to compare them to.
Actually, unlike anime, U.S. animation is getting much better. Most people don't know that, though, since most people are only watching Cartoon Network, Nick, and Toon Disney, which still uberly-suck, IMO.
gunswordfist: Yeah, for every good anime there is, there are at least 9 others that suck (probably more).
AfterImage34: Yeah, the hiatus crap is really annoying of Togashi.
I haven't been into manga and anime in general, for a while, but the DB manga is excellent! I also recommend Fist of the North Star, if you want to see a c1assic old-school fighting/shounen anime. Probably the only anime that I care to watch, now (aside from my other favorites, like YYH and CB).
Angus_Mac: It would be nice if you could use your enthusiasm to get more people from here onto AR.
Go to Toon Zone, or Animation Revelation, and you'll get all of the examples that you need. I'd give them to you, here, but I want you to at least see all of the intelligent and interesting discussions tha people are having on new releases. Even when things look down on the animation channels, there are always the DVD releases of direct to video titles from good animators, to look forward to.
As for skipping lines, haven't you ever heard of the paragraph tag?
Oh, and I actually lied about not reading any manga besides Dragon Ball. I have been reading a manga called Bakuman, for the past few months since it came out. Its by the same author and artist of Death Note. That's right, its from the same team who brough us the amazing Death Note manga sereis. This series has great and likable characters, but ones who aren't quite as unique as the Death Note characters, yet. The manga, however, is very entertaining, and it even has a reference to Death Note, as well as many other Shounen Jump manga. The author also self-references himself, by having one of the characters state one of his quotes. As for its concept, it doesn't seem great at first, but it has been pulled off extremely well, so far, and it really shows how great of a writer the Tsugumi Ohba is. I highly recommend it if you want to read something very unique and interesting.
Are you watching American cartoons on Bizarro world or something?! lol Seriously where are you watching cartoon that are convincing you that their quality is improving.
Anyway, you're site seems to be done and I have been trying to get on it for the past hour or so. Is something going on?
talonmalon333: You're telling me that you've never seen these things before? - < p >
gunswordfist: Are you telling me that you still can't tell the difference between good writing and crap writing?
If you can't see that stuff like SSM has much better dialogue and wrting than the 1990's Spider-Man TAS, then of course you would find most cartoons of today to not be to your liking.
Anyways, stuff from Canada, like TDI and 6Teen, are actually pretty good shows, if you give them a chance. Also, the latest Futurama movie was f***ing hilarious from the little clips that I have seen of it, and from what I've heard about it from everyone else.
