My favorite new shows of the year

The best new show of the year was:

1.Pushing Daisies. This strange, fairytale type of a show was surprisingly delightful. When I saw the pilot, I thought that they couldn't keep up with the plot line. But they did and then some. I hope to see more of Ned and Chuck next fall.

2. A close second was Moonlight. I think that I like this show because it reminds me of The Highlander. Still, Mick St. John is a very cool character and Shannyn Sossamon is incredible as Coraline.

The rest of three top five is as follows:

3. Reapers

Sorry religious people but the devil is so cool in this show.

4. Chuck

Yes the plot is kind of far fetched and it's your basic nerd loves the hot chick type of show but its fun and it works.

5. Corner Gas

Canada has always given us great comedians and now they give us this great show. I think I should have ranked this one higher. A funny show about simple people in a small town. I love this show.

The biggest disappointment of the year was Cane. I really wanted to like this show because of Rita Moreno and the fact that there are few shows about Hispanics people currently on. But the show seemed flat and the plot line just kept going in different directions. It got boring first. I'm sorry but ti's the true.

So there it is. If anyone disagrees, drop me a line and let me know why. I love to argue and debate TV shows.

Most of the music I listen to is giutar driven. But you need to listen to all types of music and I like to listen to Sarah McLachlan. There is something so relaxing and calming in her voice. She makes you feel better. we need singer like this. Life is too hard core as it is. Sometimes you need to breath.

Johnny Cash Country

The word icon is really over used now a days. Any idiot with a hit record and a big record company behind them is now called an icon. If you want to see the real deal I'll give you a name, Johnny Cash. This guy wrote the blue print on how to be a real badass. He played by his own rules, said whatever he felt like saying no matter who it might pissed of and did it all without rising his voice. He never called attention to himself but everybody knew who he was. Everyone could relate to his songs no matter you're social status. He didn't have a classic voice and he wasn't an angel. He'd be the first to admit this. What he was, was a man who told good stories and understood the common man. Johnny Cash is a man's man and I sorely miss him.

I would love to see someone in this day and age, try to release a song like this and get away with it.I can just see all those red state conservatives have heart attacks. Just a great song with a killer groove. But what really makes this song so cool,is it's lyrics. It tells a story that most people don't want to hear. It defies what we are taught when we are small and it scares some because it makes sense. Truly brillant.

This is a band that did exactly what they wanted to do. They wanted to be a Bluey rock band and imitate their heroes and that's what they became. They didn't fall for all that 60's hippy nonsense that music can change the world. All they did was put out quality music and would play the hell out of them on stage. When you look at their body of work,it's hard to deny their greatness. So when they roll pass your hometown,go see them. It's a chance to see history and greatness at the same time.

I don't think that Nirvana invented anything new with Nevermind. But if you were a rock fan at that time,it was a breath of fresh air. Rock is always meant to reflect it's fan and before Nevermind you just couldn't identify with most bands. That all changed with Nevermind. Songs like Teen Spirit and Lithium made you feel like these guys understood you. My favorite song is Drain You but that could change tomorrow. You really can't go wrong with this album.
