disgusted by youtube
I was recently exploring youtube and I came across a lot of (very) racist comments...
Practically any video that had a person of color in it would come along with a bunch of comments about "porch monkeys," "n******" and "white power." Call me naive, but I never realized that there was still so much racism in the world. I mean... I guess I knew, but I didn't now that things were this terrible. It's sickening! One of the "most viewed" videos that I watched was called, "white power"! The video was gross, but the remarks following the video were even more disgusting! I couldn't even begin to describe how vile it was! I nearly cried. I couldn't help but to respond to their racist remarks with anger. Idiots... I don't know why I let these kind of things upset me so much. I can't help it. Has anyone else experienced this? Have you seen a "group" on facebook/ myspace about n******/ white power... or a comment on a video on youtube? I would tell you to "go and check it out," but I don't want anyone to feel how I'm feeling right now, sad.

Staying on "Topic"
(This is NOT referring to Khaki's post on staying on topic).
Someone recently created a topic mentioning that they are tired of coming into threads and reading things like, "OMG! Elliot took his shirt off" and "Did you see Elliot and Olivia's eye sex?" Well, actually it was more like, "OmG!!!11111!!!" and "EENEE one see eYe seX!!!11#1" (but I wanted to be more realistic because most of us don't write like that). Anyway... I understand Khaki's reminders of staying on topic. She means that a topic shouldn't start off about an SVU episode and end with pictures of crazy cats (Sorry guys. It was the only example that came to mind). hmmmmmm. Another example: a topic shouldn't be about the Emmy's and have things about how Elliot and Olivia should hook up. However, this particular person said that things like Elliot and Olivia's eye sex should not be in topics about SVU episodes. According to them, the only thing that should be there is the "serious" and important stuff. I completely disagree. I think it all comes from one's perspective. What's important stuff to one person, is pointless to the other. If *I* think that eye sex was in that episode and *I* am interested in discussing it, then I should be able to. Who's to say, "You can't do that! Let's just talk about the episode." That's just like me telling them, "Ugh! Stop with all this boring serious stuff. Let's talk about EO!!" Do you understand what I mean? I hope so. Again, if I think that eye sex was IN the episode, I should not feel guilty posting anything about it... if I think that it was HOTT that Elliot was shirtless after coming out of the river in THAT episode, I should feel free to say, "That scene was HOTT." I can see if I said, "Didn't Elliot look good in last year's emmy awards?" That'd be a different story. Let's not define our own meaning of importance material.
Sorry if I have any spelling errors. It's late and I don't have the energy to spell check. Hopefully you were able to get through it.
