Hypnotheropy, Paper Cut, and Sweet Tooth

Ya, those mostly don't have much to do with this blog, I just wanted to make a weird title Anyway today I had do memorize the declaration of independence (all the way to the 2nd time it says happiness) but I didn't do that so I get to recite it tomorrow (how fun ). I also had to turn in my Mythology project today to show it to the class, it was cool because we could pretty much do anything we wanted so I was thinking about doing an animation but I didn't do that since it would've taken too much time and my mic doesn't work anymore I'm actually suprised that I'm still uploading videos on Youtube with commentary though That should change pretty soon though Anyway, instead of doing the animation I chose to make a music video, and you know me I like my videos to have violence (I actually didn't think about that until today but I think all of my music videos have it) So my mom told me that I'd get in trouble for showing that to the class so I made a "back up" thing (just the song of the music video) just in case my teacher didn't let me, but it turns out that she didn't care since violence is pretty much everywhere in our culture now Anyway here it is http://www.gamespot.com/users/edpeterson/video_player?id=dn0zw2P95bIFvzbbyep, I uploaded it to GS since it won't get taken down like on youtube. Also, I used a crapload of movies (well not really that much, but a lot), see how many you know, I bet you'll know most of them. Anyway this video was supposed to prove the thing of that women are still depicted as evil and deceptive today (since we studied some old myths that showed this too). Anyway I hope you guys like the video

Next, in psychology clas s we did have a hypnotheropist come to our school and hypnotize people. At first she hypnotized most of the clas sbut next she only hypnotized 6 kids and made them do funny stuff like smell someone's ear and she made someone think that they were santa clause Anyway it kinda worked on my since, for the first part, she tried to make everyone feel relaxed for the day and that happened to me It was funny cus one of my friends said it was better than drugs

Another thing I want to talk to you guys about is my English clas s I found out that this stupid teacher has the bad case of the favorites sounds weird. Anyway she does this a lot because she says she usually gives people 6 out of 10 for not participating however she gives me 2 out of 10, kind stupid. And another thing is that she yelled at someone for telling her that it wasn't a good idea to give a ton of homework on the weekend when whe had to study for finals. Of course this teacher yelled at them like I just said, but then even after the argument she still yelled at them any time she could in the coversation she was having with theclas sSo I have pretty much lost all respect for that teacher now.

Now it's time for the random crap-galore part of this blog. It's kind of new but I'm going to start putting other stuff that won't really be related to the other paragraphs here. To start it off, do you guys know there's a mega man 10 coming out? The people say it's going to be like MM9, so it should be awesome Also, GS doesn't seem to count views on music videos so my fear effect 2 amv is stuck at 69 Views, I bet you can probably make a joke about that if you really wanted to Here's something funny (well not that funny but you know what I mean), I actually went 4-wheeling last week driving home from school because I had to go in the left turning lane but some guy almost pulled out infront of me so, to avoid getting hit, I drove on the hill. Oh, and for the paper cut part of the blog, I got a gigantic one (it's all the way down the first section of my middle finger, but for some reason it actually didn't hurt at all Oh and I forgot I'm also trying to download the demo of Dante's Inferno, has anyone played it? And if so is it good? Also, I'm starting toreplay the GBC gameThe Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons, it's so much better than the DSZelda games. For the last thing in this blog, my first semester is ending in 4 days, yay

Ok, here's some music that I'm listening to right now that some of you might like (it's from one of my favorite Japanese bands)

m.o.v.e- Blazin' Beat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaWV6DRs4ys

Disturbed - Land of Confusion (cool video and good song)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6KXgjLqSTg

Escape the Fate - 10 Miles Wide (funny music video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02Me9nPk5ro

The road goes ever on and on

Wow. 2 years, time sure does fly doesn't it? I remember when I first got on GS, I was 14, my main system was a PS2, I had not played the best game ever (actually it wasn't even out yet)I had no idea of the friends I would make, I couldnt draw beyond a stick figure and a life changing event was not yet known to me. A skinny freshmen in HS, I loved video games as I still do and longed for a PS3, well I got it soon after and I haven't looked back; my PS2 is packed away in the box it came in but I still play some old PS1 and 2 games, however, I strictly use my PS3 for my Sony home gaming. Ive made many memorable blogs, some, like my all time favorite games and movies countdown were a lot of fun and I poured in a great effort to make an epic anime characters list last summer. Ive made some unforgettable friends on GS and have enjoyed pretty much every experience Ive had here. GS is something I look forward to everyday, reading blogs and discussing various things from games to anime to music is a blast and Id like to take this time to say to all of you, in many ways, thank you. So I'll stick to my second language and simply say in latin, gratias agere.

On the anime front, Ive been watching a little Death Note, a little Air and a lot of Gundam. So far Death Note has been pretty good, I love the cat and mouse game between Light and L and Id say so far its worthy of an 8 but I never score a show until its finished. Air has been just as I thought, very confined to its characters and different from most shows you normally watch. I'll be interested to see the end. Gundam, well its Gundam. My second favorite show of all time, part of this may have to do with it taking me by storm as a kid so I have a long history with thinking its great, and I limit myself to watching it just once a year. But still to this day Im in awe of the characters and intricate plot, plus I love mechs and it just seems that there is one great line after another, in less than a minute one character says this: "The emotions of those thought to be beautiful are always full of sorrow" and right after "with a fancy gun that has long forgotten the meaning of battle, Id feel no emotion even if I shot a man right through the heart. Its not that a pure man has no direction, its that his mind is free." Great stuff.

Id like to go on record here and just say I HATE SCHOOL!! Since my last blog Ive been overloaded, thankfully last weekend was a small reprieve. But I still have 2 more weeks left before Christmas break and Im a little uneasy I might get bombarded again. At least I don't have to worry about my English final

Going on vacattion

man this sucks, I haven;t been on GS lately because of my sickness and I just got better two days ago. It was honestly the worst illness I have ever had, it might even be worse than the kidney stone I got at 7). Now I probably won't be on for at least two weeks because when I am on vacation I usually don't get on the computer as much. I might be able to get on a few times though. if any of you are wondering, I am going to St.Louis tomorrow to see my family. I will be gone for at least 1-2 weeks. Hopefully, we will go to a couple of cadinals games while there. Well i have to go pack now.

AC/DC Mini-Review!

Everyone, here is the new Austin. I am truly a man after seeing AC/DC live and in the flesh. Yes, it was epic. I'm gonna try my best to write a mini-review and write out all the songs they played. But first, The Answer was the opening band. I thought they were great for opening up for such a huge band. I'm not gonna lie though; their sound quality was really bad so I couldn't understand them or make out the guitars and stuff. What I did hear was good though. I suggest looking them up if you are a fan of Led Zeppelin or bands like that. And now for AC/DC:

(These are not in order, I can't remember them)

Rock 'N Roll Train

Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be

Back In Black

Dirty Deeds

Black Ice

Thuderstruck

T.N.T.

The Jack (my personal favorite; Angus stripped down to his shorts and mooned the crowd with his AC/DC boxers lol)

Anything Goes

War Machine

Big Jack

Whole Lotta Rosie

Shoot To Thrill

You Shook Me All Night Long

Let There Be Rock (15 minutes long!!!!!!)

Highway to Hell

For Those About To Rock

Everyone of them was great. It was an awesome concert and a lot of fun. Angus and Brian were meant to be on stage together. Angus is such an amazing guitarist. Everyone always says he plays simple stuff. Go take a freaking hike and jump off of a cliff. His musicianship is SICK. He has so much energy for that age too. I just really hope they can come back to Nashville because that was so epic.

There were a couple songs they didn't play that I wanted them too though. They are:

Jailbreak

Girls Got Rhythm

Beating Around the Bush

Shot Down in Flames

If You Want Blood

Riff Raff

It's a Long Way to the Top

Live Wire

She's Got Balls

High Voltage

Rocker

Even so, it was still AMAZING.

I did buy some more CD's since last time. I bought Tonight-Franz Ferdinand and Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Hope to talk to ya'll later.

Home is NOT where the heart is for Sony.

If I had to describe Home in one word, it would be "boring". I'm bored to death with Home. I've only found two things that are entertaining for more than about 30 seconds, tweaking my avatar and playing the bowling minigame. Other than these two aspects, I haven't found a single thing that keeps my interest for more than about a minute. The theater just shows the same videos over and over, and its stuff that I can find online much faster other than waiting for it to download with an actual downloading bar streaming across the movie screen. Imagine that. Going to the movies and seeing the big screen with a loading bar on it, yea that's fun.

The games in the arcade cabinets aren't good and in fact downright blow! Pool is about as basic as can be. PC desktop pool is more fun. Bowling is OK, but it's certainly not enough for me to say, "I can't WAIT to play some Home bowling. That would be much more fun than Left 4 Dead or Gears of War 2 with friends." I understand that the point of these games is to help encourage people to talk while playing them in a virtual world, but that won't happen unless you're waiting to play. And who is going to stand around to wait to play Carriage Return or Ice Breaker? I mean seriously waiting to play in a virtually created world? There are 12 cabinets and approx three million people trying to play them. Does this make sense?

The problem here is that while the experience on the whole is supposed to be there to incite conversation, you only really exist while you're logged in. If you're not currently in Home, there's no way for people to interact with you outside of sending you a message, which you can just do from the XMB anyway. Really, if I felt like having conversations with people I don't know, I would much rather do it on a message board somewhere like Gamespot and then seeing if I want to be friends with them, all I saw in Home were hundreds of people running around doing nothing, chatting with a keyboard and two people using their oh so nifty bluetooth headsets…YES two people which you can't even mute no matter how loud or static their voices are.

I know that a whole lot more stuff is coming, but what's here now is a giant waste of time. Sony should concentrate on hanging on to their once beloved third party franchises and churning out more games then this crap that took WAY to long to be such a failure.

PS3 is becoming the failure...

I must say after seeing the November sales numbers I (and MANY others) really think the PS3 may be in trouble. As we know, Sony's PS3 was only able to push 378,000 units which is down a whopping -19% over last years November figures. Unlike the other two competitors which had a much-much better performance with the Wii having 2,040,000 units sold, making it overall up +108% over last years, and 836,000 Xbox 360's sold which is up +9% (don't have to name them because I'm sure you know what consoles they are). Now sure some may say "the economy is all screwed up" but the fact of the matter is, the gaming industry is really in a league of it's own (meaning it doesn't suffer AS BAD from a bad economy as many other companies do)

Now as we all know this is the busiest time of the year and the most anticipated time for allot of these gaming companies. Now lets take a look at those figures again:

-19%

+108%

+9%

Now which one sticks out the most as being not so good?...Yes, the -19%. So basically Sony's PS3 managed to tank in the most anticipated and expected to do good time of the year. Things can only get worse for Sony from here, unless they manage to pull a rabit out of a hat. Lets look at some of the things that are contributing to this failure:

* The $400 and $500 price tag is just unbelievably high for a gaming machine that's been on the market for 2-Years.

* The games are very lackluster at the moment, non-existent and look to continue this trend for quite some time (even games like Resistance 2 failed to provide any type of boost, and in fact did a not-so-well performance itself in the sales department > In other words it's doing bad!) "Resistance 1 did much much better"

* As we all know Sony force fed Blu-Ray into every PS3, which is their proprietary media that they wanted to push so badly, even taking the risk of ignoring the main purpose of the Playstation 3, which is being a "GAMING CONSOLE." This ultimately pushes the PS3's price up and keeps it there until cost go down to manufacture these units. What a way to alienate your main base, which is gamers!

* Sony did not release dev-kits to the developers until a few months before the PS3's launch, and on top of that the kits were not very developer friendly.

* Sony keeps doing this offer more for the same price stuff (sure that may be good for some, but most just want a lower price and worry about the additions later).

* Using the "Cell" technology may not have been such a smart move, especially when you have to take into consideration the wide range of developers out there who may struggle with such a new un-adapted to technology.

* Advertising for the PS3 and it's games are pretty much non-existent, sure you see SOME but it's not at a Wii and 360 "ad" level. They need to push advertising more!

* The PS3 just doesn't have any must-have titles EXCLUSIVE to the console. "LittleBigPlanet" has generated decent buzz but isn't a game-changer, and neither is HOME.

I didn't come up with this just to bash the PS3, but instead to bring into view the current situation with Sony & the Playstation 3, and the expectancy us gamers have for a gaming console. There's really only one option left for Sony to remain in the game: And that's deep price cuts with more games that show why the PS3 is different from it's competition. So tell yourself the PS3 has superior graphics if it makes you feel better, but a $400 console with a mediocre game library simply cannot compete against an Xbox 360 in an industry where people look for fun at low prices. Hopefully Sony will get back on the waggon and stop screwing over the people that made them possible. They'll have to take the hit in the pocket and prove that they mean business or get trounced on by Super Mario (Nintendo Wii) and Marcus Fenix (Xbox 360)!!

GTA IV, and a couch, WTH?!?!

Well, tomorrow is the day, GTAIV comes out and I'm sure GS will be swarming with bazillions of blogs about what a great game it is, how sweet it is, how it's the best game EVER . Well, I pre-ordered about a month ago, and I even took tomorrow (it's release date) off, and Wednesday to sit on my a$$ and play this game. I am a GTA fan, and have been since III. I know, some of you are saying "well, I've been a fan since #1 or #2", and to you, I say big friggin' deal. I care not. I have been anticipating this game since I finished GTA: SA. I need more, I want more. Some of you don't care for GTA, and that's all fine and dandy with me, just don't sit there and bad-mouth the people that play the game or the game itself. Not everyone has the same taste. Doesn't make me a thug, or a violent person just because I play GTA... I just like the game(s), put mostly, I like the missions. The side missions. Yes, while it's sometimes fun to kill a few innocent bye-standers for no apparent reason, it's the missions in these games that really set it apart from some games. Easter eggs are always fun too.

Remeber big-foot in SA ... anyone find him yet? No? I didn't think so, but it was fun exploring now wasn't it (until you found out it wasn't real). Even after you heard it wasn't real, you still wandered out into the woods every now and then, didn't you? No? yeah... me either .

Anyways, on to a couch. I think that during this time off, I will also shop for another couch, and possibly another TV. Why you may ask? Well, I currently have my PS3 and flat-screen downstairs in the living room... but there is no internet access there, and I have this sweet bonus room upstairs (where I sit as I type this) that does, and it needs furniture and a new tv. That way, I don't have to by a wireless router, because we all know a wireless router is way more than a couch and another flat-screen Also, that should shut-up the other GS'ers that are practically harassing me on GS and MSN (you know who you are) to get on-line and play CoD4 and other games. Well, I may be off to do that tonight, or maybe tomorrow, we'll see. I may just spend the entire time playing GTAIV, if it keeps my interest for long enough.

Anyways, I've been a bit inactive lately in the SKS and TCTP unions, and for that, I apologize. I check in here and there just to make sure things are still moving along, and they seem to be, so for now, I am taking a little vacation from GS, just for a few days at least. I may poke my head in and post a judgement or something meaningless, but I will be back in full force soon enough!
