Looking for opinions from Survival Horror fans

So I've been itching to buy a new game for my Wii, but I'm also itching to play a survival horror game. Since Fatal Frame 4 won't be out for awhile yet, my options boil down to Obscure 2 and the new Alone In the Dark. I've heard bad things about the Wii version of Obscure 2, so I was wondering if anyone had played the new Alone in the Dark. Is it worth trying out?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Heaven. Haven't played Alone in the Dark yet but if you're looking for a horror game on the Wii, I'd not recommend RE:Umbrella Chronicles. It's not a bad game but it's nothing more than House of the Dead with a RE skin. If you feel like playing a gun game, go for it, but don't expect a state of the art horror game

Heaven! I hope your summer is going well old chum

The new AitD game is horrid, and not worth your time unless you can find a used copy on the cheap (I'm talking under $20 type cheap). I only tried it out for an hour or so, but found the controlls kinda sloppy, and the game just didn't seem to capture my interest at all, but I'm basing that on the PS2 version (perhaps the other versions are better?) The best suggestion I could make considering you have a Wii would be to grab some older GameCube titles such as "Resident Evil Zero", "Resident Evil REmake", or even "Eternal Darkness" and use those for your survival horror fix until Fatal Frame arrives (and please, let us know how the new Fatal Frame is once you've got your hands on it)

I agree with TKF, don't miss the opportunity to play REmake, Resident Evil 0 and Eternal Darkness. They're great survival horror games and you'll probably find them for a good price right now.

Thanks guys... I guess I can replay those games, even though I've already gone through them. I just wanted something different. But I appreciate the input, and I'm glad I didn't drop the money on AiTD if it's not worth it.

About Me

What can I say about myself? Hmmm... I'm 23, almost 24, I live in Nevada, and am working towards earning my Master's degree in speech language pathology. I'm mostly into RPG and survival-horror games, though I do also like to try my hand in action games.
