What happened here?

I think it is safe to say that gamespot is not the same anymore. The other people that use to work here made this site special. Did anyone remember the Headcrab Union that was one of the most organized unions in Gamespot but they left because of the BS that goes around here. Jeff Gerstmann was an idol here on the site wth his infamous bloqs and his funny remarks they fired just because he gave that game a bad review.....I barely go in here...but you can tell when you watch a video review and you see these new people you just wish that Jeff Gerstmann did that review for Gears of War 2 or you wish for Alex Navarro doing some review for Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Well the site is still fun and the forums are great I just mssed all the other crap.

Are apocalyptic movies becoming popular?

I have always been a fan of cinema. I enjoy watching many types of genres such as action/adventure, comedy, drama, horror, and some romance. My favorite one is action/adventure I love getting the thrill out of that. I have been observing all of these genres until I noticed one thing. That there has been alot of movies that the setting is post apocalyptic. For example Spielberg's War of the Worlds. The movie settles around an alien attack that is occuring in New York. Starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning both of them have to survive the attack.

Then in 2007 "I Am Legend" was released. The plot goes about a virus that turns people into hemocytes, they act like vampires and go around New York in the dark. While Will Smith the only one in New York and the only one that is immune to the virus is trying to figure out a cure. At the start of the movie you are awed by the stunning look of New York City which looks like a ruin that is post - apocalyptic.

One that came out January of this year was "Cloverfield". The film is about a huge creature roaming around New Yok City and the survival of some people. The films point of view is thorugh a video camera (which alot of people hated that). I thought the idea was perfect since it makes you feel like you are in there and also makes it look official. But if you are motion sickness then you should not watch it. One thing I loved about this movie is the creature as they have some sick close-ups makes you think that these people roaming around have no hope whatsoever as their fight for survival. If you want to find out where the creature came from read here. That link is what many people believe it came from.

A new one that just recently came out is called "Doomsday", about a virus that breaks out in the Britain isles that turns people into zombies while authorities try to quarantine it. After the success of the quaratine 30 decades later the virus breaks out again in this ruin off the coast of Britain. So this chick tries to go in there to find a cure, when she gets there evil bandits who are infected have taken over the place first. Even though this film focuses more on action you still have that view that everything is empty and dead.

Another one that is really popular and that surrounds Britain again is called "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later". The movie focuses on a virus that breaks out around Britain. "28 Days Later" starts with Cilian Murphy where he just wakes up from a hospital thinking that the rapture came and he was left. The whole movie has a really really deep post apocalyptic view. "28 Weeks Later" is after the events that happened in "28 Days Later" following the view of two kids one boy and one girl trying to fight their way to survival. The second one is when they start to quaratine it but everything goes wrong.

One that is very popular and in which all of you should know is the Resident Evil Trilogy. The movie adapted from the popular video game frachise Resident Evil. I really dont want to go into deep details but you should know the story virus breaks out, end of the world, hope comes, etc. Now the big difference about this film is that there is a deep conspiracy in the plot. This movei fits both genres action/adventure and horror.

Now you see ever since the year 2000 a bunch of these movies have been coming even new ones are coming for example M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening". Also a sequel for "Cloverfield", all I am trying to state that this genre is very popular and also the plot and the feeling of the end of the world is very popular as well.

Seriously.....what's up?

For the pas six months my X- Box 360 has been broken. It all started when I was playing Bioshock.....I was getting really far in the game, suddenly I get these weird lines through the game when it was frozen. I kept on restarting it until I get this message saying that your console has a technical error. So I called for repairs I had the warranty, so I packed it up and shipped it out. When It came back..........it was worse it did not even turn on. I was pretty pissed off that I sent it for nothing I waited two months just to find out the news. I called again explaining the whole thing, they understanded, gave me a second chance. They sent all the package intructions. Now the first time I sent the console itself, now I have to package the console, AV component cables, and the charger with the cable. So after I did all that 2 weeks later it came back. I was so anticipated of opening it, when I unraveled it all I realized that my AV component cable was missing(which is the yellow, white, and red cable). I only had the charger and console. I connected it, but once again it did not turn on whatsoever. Up to this point I am frustrated and mad at Microsoft. Once again I am going to call repair services to see if I can replace or get a new one. In the meanwhile I will keep you updated.

Bare only one.......

game for me to enjoy myself but this one certainly gives out the real power of what a 360 can do. I am impressed of buying Dirt making half PGR3 and Flatout. The style of the gameplay cansometimes besmooth and rigid to some standards. The developer knows how to make a racing game that can be easily mastered by anyone. Dirt is on eof the games that is worth buying on the shelves right now.
