On December 2, I turn 20. I'm no longer a teenager, I still play video games and will continue to do so for as long as they provide me the entertainment. Birthdays aren't really that exciting anymore, mainly because I can afford to buy the stuff I want now. However, I guess you can't complain about the cake.

Gaming-wise, I've been playing 1 vs. 100 and been doing fairly well. I've just got one achievement left in it but I have to wait until a live event comes up to get it. I have also done all of spec-ops and the campaign 100% in Modern Warfare 2, which has given me my most recent 1000 gamerscore. Now, my focus is on Assassin's Creed II. It's very enjoyable so far and varied compared to the previous.

I have this week off and plan to make good use of my time, through the means of video games, although I'll try to get out once in a while.

In this week's cast, I take the Thanksgiving holiday as a moment to reflect on television I've been thankful for in the past year -- and television I've been less thankful for. Included in my reflections are thoughts on the more-than-usually acceptable Day Seven we had with "24." Also, Kim Raver from that series -- the only context of "24" in which I'd call for "More Kim, please!" -- and her work in "Grey's Anatomy." Also, ABC's decision to burn off a bunch of canceled programming over the summer, which was just the loveliest bit of fan service I've seen since FOX decided to give "Dollhouse" a shot at a second season. Also, a quick shout-out to the "100 Word Stories" podcast's upcoming weekly challenge with a story prompt suggestion of "Smoke." Original blog posted here.

For my side cast, I briefly mention the beginning of the end for Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse," beginning at 8/7c this Friday, next weekend's premiere of the "Alice" miniseries on Syfy, for some reason mention ABC's bucket of holiday schmaltz "Find My Family" premiering Monday, and forget to mention the season finale of FX's "Sons of Anarchy," set for Tuesday at 10/9c (although I do remember to mention it here).

Mostly I look ahead to the series finale of "Monk," devoting pretty much the balance of my sidecast to comment on the run of that show from the summer of 2002 through part two of the finale this Friday, Dec. 4 at 9/8c, following an encore of part one at 8/7c and a daylong back-to-back marathon of excellent episodes beginning at 6/5c on USA. Hey guys, hope you're all well, and excited for Christmas. I'm very busy in school this year, as it's my last year, but I'll eventually get there. College next year.

Anyway, last couple of weeks, I've been trying to force myself back into tv.com as at least a semi-reglular member. I've done a couple blogs which have gotten a mere 4 or 5 comments, and I've even attempted to do more subs, which all got rejected. I miss the old days, when I was a respected contributor and blogger. Anyway, I'll keep it going. I'm having fun doing these Buffy reviews, even if no one reads them. :p

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 2

This season is perhaps my favourite season so far. It has some very orginal episodes, and some likable new characters. Great storylines throughout, and great character gelling and development. But overall, what it does best is simply entertain. Fantastic season.

Standout Episodes: Halloween, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Killed By Death, Becoming Part 1 and 2.

Porn is readily available for anyone of any age to see. Pedophiles use it as a virtual playground to find new victims. Adults use websites to prey on the vulnerabilities of young children leading them to suicide. People use it as a means to hide anonymously, say things they never would have the audacity to say to another human being face to face. Insurance companies use it to remove benefits. Oh yeah even that last one is true. Check It

I have been watching Family Guy and I have found that I actually like it, in a sick twisted kind of way. I usually just watch the reruns on Adult Swim, The Spot Cartoon Network or online at legal sources only. I have also managed to get hooked on Ghost Whisperer not even really sure how but I did. NCIS is still on my radar although I haven't watched an episode since the premier. I have them all sitting on my DVR, I will eventually get to them.

I managed to make my first set of Christmas purchases on Friday. I utilized the internet and did some online shopping. My mother and I will be making the voyage to the place that has everything tomorrow. I am not happy about it, but it has to be done. While I was in my basement sifting through the 'Christmas crap' as I call it, and made an executive decision. I am going to buy a new Christmas tree, the one I have is 8 years old. The lights are shot as they are 8 years old also. I have been looking online and the dreaded place has those also for a good price...pre-lit tree here I come. I am all about simplicity.

Dudes! I was watching an old episode of Degrassi today where JT was still alive. So I was all like I miss JT, I am going to youtube him. Holy f-bomb, I was on youtube forever. I rediscovered some of my loves. JT/Liberty and Neela/Ray (from ER) being the big two. Plus I found some good videos of Holly J/Declan. Which is hard since they are a new couple and I don't know any good Degrassi vidders. I favorited like at least 30 videos. It was out of control and I just want to go back and watch some more. I love Degrassi, by the way. I grew up with that show. And recently I have started to really like it again. Maybe a little because of Holly J and Declan. Mostly since he's the hottest thing since sliced bread.

So life. I have been kind of ignoring Kaia and Kat. Just avoiding the whole thing. I have been going out a lot. Hah. It's my life now. We went out for my birthday last weekend and it was kind of a gong show for Katie. Like there was too many boys that she has things with there. She feels the need to protect me at the bar and it's so funny. I can take care of myself. One of Katie's friends, friends was talking to me for maybe an hour. And later when we got home he has asked Katie for my BBM pin. And he won't stop texting me. I am couldn't be less interesting than I am. And he's just one of those full out pushy people about things. Like every text has a compliment in it about my looks. Which makes me sooo mad. I hate feeling like an object. That night I tramped it up quite a bit. I liked it. I was wearing like fishnet esque tights, with a short tight black shirt and a big, baggy off the shoulder shirt and lots of make up. So I was getting quite a bit of attention and Katie's other cousin was there and she gets super moody if she's not getting attention. And no one new was hitting on her. Like there are people we are always with that always hit on you but people were actually coming up to me. And she was not a fan. It was awkward.

School has been whatever. Lots of work. It's all over the place. I don't know. I can't wait for this semester to be over. I have been going to the gym lately. It's nice. Kaia asked me if her and boyfriend got pregnant if I would be her baby's godmomma. I told her yes. I hope she doesn't get pregnant anytime soon. Oh god! Kat told me she likes Henry again. Eff my life. So much drama and being stuck in a long time ago. So over it.

I went out this weekend too. Thursday and Friday night. Thursday was kind of fun. We were supposed to go out for a birthday but then the girl couldn't come. So it was me, Katie and Darci. And we some people there. As always. This cowboy was hitting on me. And it was soo funny. He was like talking to me how he's a conservative guy and this that and the other thing. And like that's the opposite of me. Complete and totally. And I said that and he continued. Like holy eff. Bar is funny. Last night was not good. Katie was wearing this little red dress and was getting so much attention. She doesn't need that additional confidence boost. She has enough. She was soooo high on herself. I wanted to punch her. And I told her that. I haven't felt sooo crappy about myself at the bar ever. But being with her, with her inflated ego and all of these guys being IN love with her. Wanted to die. The one guy who we know was all about her last night started telling race jokes. I didn't yell but I let it know how unimpressed I was. It wasn't a good a night.

Last night Henry started talking to me on facebook chat. About if I was going out last night which at the time I wasn't. So we then started talking about Friday Night Lights and everything. And I said I loved Tim and Matt and he was like he loves Julie and Lyla. And I don't know how it led to it exactly but we were talking about being able to get people of that quality in Calgs. And I said that anyone can get anyone. Everyone has a chance kind of thing. And he was like if that was true he would have gotten with Tess in high school. And then tells me that she was his high school fantasy and started talking to me about my high school crushes. And like I didn't really have any. But it was so awesome. Like it was the most real and normal conversation we have had in over a year. We talked about girls and everything like it wasn't weird. I was so happy. Anyways, somehow we ended up talking about how we've both changed since high school and stuff. And we talked about my situation with Kaia and Kat and he totally got it and it was nice for someone to really understand. And he told me that him and his RD best friend don't even talk anymore. Which is insane. They were best friends. Like full out. And I was his person about that for him. It was a good thing to talk to him. It was what I needed a little bit. Everyone is right when they say we should fix things. I need the confidence to do it. Me and Henry are always friends. Like we will always be friends. It's hard to describe our relationship. Like he will always be there for me no matter what and vice versa. But we kind of suck at being friends. Like for you OTH-ers. You know in season two after the formal in 209 when Lucas and Brooke are sitting on the beach and then go for breakfast and they are in Lucas' car outside Brooke's house and she says this was nice and they should be friends. and Lucas is like but we are friends. and Brooke is like we should be friends. I kind of feel like how our relationship is like. Like we are friends. But we suck are BEING friends. I don't know. It's complicated. It's really hard for me to put myself out there with him. Because as much as I do trust him, he has hurt me before. And he's so not confident in who he is that he thinks that taking himself out the picture is best for people sometimes and I don't want to let myself rely on him again too much so when he decides he needs to that again, I don't get left alone. Because that's what happened before. AHH. But seriously, a perfect conversation. We needed to have. We are both in the same situation with being the Calgs versions of ourselves which are the versions we should be being. The more mature and growing up versions not the high school versions. But once we go home we fall right back into those versions and afterwards feel so badly about it. Like everything we talked we both felt the same about everything. Ah. I need to fix things. We could be best friends again. I think. I don't think what happened before would happen again. I hope it wouldn't at least. I don't think I could go through that again. I was physically sick after all of that. I felt so bad. I hurt my best friend and lost my best friend all in the same moment. And then I got left behind. Alone. See, I think about all of that and that's why I am so scared on investing in our friendship again. Even if he's one the best people I have had in my life. According to everyone. My mother thinks he's the best person I have had in my life. Someone who was unselfishly there for me. And I believe that. I'm just a chicken sh*t.

So last week sometime Katie calls me asking if she can give my number to Mike. The guy who liked me, deleted me off of facebook person. I was like huh. She's like he's trying to make amends. And try to blame our lack of facebook friendship on me. I never delete people. And uhh obviously deleted me out of his phone too. Like duh, facebook too. Stupid kid. I said I didn't care about the number. But Katie didn't give it to him. We were invited to a party at his house last night. But we went out instead.

I had the most vivid dream about this kid I used to be really good friends with last night. Aaron. We were like best friends in middle school and little bit in high school until he dropped out. In my dream I was meeting Katie at Humpty's and I walk in there and there was Aaron sitting in a booth by himself. And I went and sat there and talking to him forever. It was weird. And he looked like he did when we were 15, not what he looks like now. It was sooo weird. I kind of miss him. Hah.

35. Damages

I have never liked this show as much as the average critic.
But it is a great show that I still need to catch up on. Eventually, but it isn't a show that I NEED to see.

34. Being Human

One of the few British shows that I have ever truly liked.
What is taking Season 2 so long?

33. Hung

Still need to catch up on this show, but is it good? Absolutely.
Humor is very awkward, which doesn't appeal to everyone, but it does to me.

32. Family Guy

Haven't watched this one in a while, but it is a great show for when you are bored.

31. Medium

Haven't bothered watching the new Season yet.
Quite frankly, it is a great show but it is time to end it already.

30. The Tudors

Pretty much the guilty-pleasure version of 'Rome'.
Is it worth watching? For sure, if not just for it's sexiness and great outfits.

29. Man Vs. Wild

Gotten a little tired of this one, but Bear Grylls never gets boring.

28. 30 Rock

A little too American, but I certainly understand the hype.
Best comedic cast on tv, for sure.

27. The Simpsons

This show never gets old. 21 Seasons old? Damn.

26. Nurse Jackie

One of the best new shows of the year, Edie Falco blows me away with her great performance.

25. Weeds

The humor on this show is getting worse, whilst the drama is only getting better.
It is being dragged on longer than it should have, but it is still worth watching.

24. Rescue Me

This show is like a roller coaster ride, it has big highs and big lows and little in-betweens.
But the occasional great performances and unique story makes it unforgettable.

23. Nip/Tuck

Pretty much the exact same thing as Rescue Me.
But season six, which will be the series' last, is proving to be as dark and as memorable as the first three seasons so far.

22. South Park

A show that has gotten a bit too old, but is it still entertaining? You betcha.

21. Skins

Too high on the list? Pretty much.
But when the show is good, it is pretty heartbreaking.

20. Survivor

In it's 19th Season, and still going on strong.
The only reality show that I would recommend to anyone.

19. Epitafios

I am probably the only person here that will ever watch this show.
It airs on Latin HBO, which means that it is all in Spanish. Pretty awesome.

18. The Office

Behind on this one, mainly because I do not like it as much as during it's first three seasons.
But it is still one of the best comedies on tv.

17. Entourage

I am not yet caught up with this one, but I have been watching episodes here and there and loving it more the more I watch it.

16. In Treatment

I am still not finished with it's first Season.
Why? I do not know. Honestly, I loved what I saw of it. Excellent show.

15. Lost

The show has changed so much, and I don't think that it's as smart or nearly as touching as it used to be.
It actually feels like just another action-y show instead of a powerful, supernatural drama.
Hopefully Season 6 gives it the right send off.

14. Robot Chicken

One of the best ways to kill time.
It can be hit-or-miss-y, but for the most part, it is pure unconditional entertainment.

13. True Blood

What is not fun about this show? It has sex, gore, supernatural people, and decent writing and performances.
The best guilty pleasure on tv. period.

12. Party Down

Probably overrating this show that almost nobody has ever even heard of.
But I love it. I love the characters, the cast, the GUEST STARS(!!!), the humor. It is one of those shows you just simply love.

11. Bored To Death

If I would ever write a comedy, it would be something like this.
Just extremely dry, and probably lame. It's hilarious and akward, I love it.

10. Friday Night Lights

Season 4 is starting all over again, half the cast is gone and the show is just better than ever.

09. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Currently going through it's worst Season yet, but it could still recover.
The people on this show are horrible low-lives, what's not to love?

08. Modern Family

Still very fresh and new, but already loving this one.
The cast is superb, with the likes of Ed O'Neill and Ty Burrell.
It has two Colombian characters and the dialog is sharp and histerical. One of the best comedies in a long time.

07. The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency

My favorite new show that aired this year.
So far, still has not been renewed or cancelled. Hopefully it does get a second season, because it was a true African gem.

06. Big Love

This show has only been getting better and better.
It has gotten better than I ever though it could get. Gut-wrecking and occasionally hilarious.

05. Flight Of The Choncords

The world needs more Folk, I demand it!
As of now, whether Season 3 will happen is still unsure. HBO wants them back, but the Conchords are not convinced yet.
Here's hoping they do at least one more season.

04. The Venture Bros.

Best. Animated show. Ever. Period.
I love everything about this show. It is epic, freaking histerical, has one of the best voice-acting, excellent set of characters, and a better written and less confusing mythology than Lost.

03. Breaking Bad

Bryan Cranston really carries this show, his performance reminds me of the Deadwood cast, it is that good.
The show is very thrilling without being cheap, you never know what will happen next.

02. Dexter

Season 4 is doing what I didn't think was going to be possible.
It is making me love and fear this show even more. This Season's villain, The Trinity Killer, is almost as freaky as Twin Peak's Bob.
What a great ride this show has been.

01. Mad Men

What can I say about the show that hasn't been said already?
It is a work of art, every single frame is. I can just pause any episode and still be amazed by what I see.
I love that about this show. There is a group of people that will never get what I mean, but if you are into art, you should be able to understand.

Hi all! Short blog today. Just wanted to let you know that my Mysteries of Westgate review is up. Read, comment, or do whatever else you feel like doing.

The game turned out so much better than I thought it would. In my humble opinion, it ranks as one of the highlights of the RPG genre in recent years. Yeah, I really thought it was that good. It's so well put together and full of great quests, solid writing... ah, just read the review to find out all the details.

Next time I'll hopefully bring you a review of Risen, which is pretty awesome as well. Just my luck, two great RPGs in a row ... this year turned out better than I thought it would. Peace!

We released an update to the GameSpot forum search today. The changes were made to provide more reliable search results and make the forums perform a bit better.

The searches are now running on the Sphinx search server. Sphinx is designed for full-text searches and is a perfect match for the forums. Because the searches are running on the Sphinx server they no longer cause general forum slowdowns when a large # of searches are done at once.

If you are interested, there are a few tips & tricks you can now do to get more specific search results.

The "|" character allows you to do an OR search. e.g., search for: mario | zelda

The "+" character allows you to require a word to be part of the search. e.g., search for: (mario | zelda) +time

If you surround your search term in quotes (") then it will search for that exact combined term. See the difference between: of legend and "of legend" You'll notice that The Legend of Zelda is not included in the second search.

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, and Karl Malden...Wow, how sad, how close, how soon. We have lost so many so soon, so recently. It really causes one's head to spin. I find myself saying, How sad, when up pops another one. It just goes to show how very precious life is and how nothing is promised so we do have to make the most of each day. My heart and Prayers go out to the loved ones of each of the persons whom have named and I hope that each of them has gone on to a better place.

Back after another lengthy hiatus. Prepare for many bandwith wasting pictures today.
Have survived Year 11 so far.
I've just done four exams (this week, not today) and I've got one more to go on Monday, Geometry+Trigonometry.
Maths ftw.

Anyway, after Monday I get the rest of the week off before three more weeks of school, and then it's winter holidays! woo.

Averaging in my subjects:
Literature - 75, I think. Exam score is surely going to bring that down.
Chem - Just under 70. Ditto for the exam.
Physics - 72.6. Topic test last term stuffed up my 90 or so average. -_- Hopefully I've done well in the exam.
Introductory Calculus - 83. xD I'll probably get about around a 65 for the exam.
Geometry + Trigonometry - Also stuffed up my 86 average with one bloody test.
Career + Enterprise - Definite A. Teacher was very impressed with my use of the word existentialist. xD

Sad news today for anyone who grew up on quality TV like "All in the Family" which gave birth to Maude and "Golden Girls" which gave birth to Dorothy Zbornak, Bea Arthur has passed.

She won a Tony Award for the musical "Mame"

In 2008, when Arthur was inducted in the TV Academy Hall of Fame

Among her movie credits are: "That Kind of Woman" (1959), "Lovers and Other Strangers" (1970), Mel Brooks' "The History of the World: Part I" (1981), "For Better or Worse" (1995)

She was a wonderful comedian with an impeccable talent and I will truly miss her. May she rest in peace.

Work has started on the "first unbiased gaming journalism website" since I'm a team of one things are moving a lot slower than I thought. At this rate I'm guessing the site should be opened to the public at the end of April or mid May. Everything on the site is created by me to the layout right down to the design of the site so it'll take some time and this is excluding the content being put on it once done. The wait is almost over.

I've retired as editor of Desperate Housewives due to my ever-increasingly busy schedule.

It's been fun. I'm still watching the show, of course.

My classmate lost his iPod Nano Chromatic on Friday. We`re all pretty sure it`s due to theft because there have been two cellphones and two cameras in our class that have gone missing. My classmate left it in his bag, which was placed on the ledge of our classroom in the early morning, he only discovered it was missing right before we went out for our lunch break as we were dressing up for PE. Anyway, so some guys from my class asked everyone to stay in the room, so we could try to look for the thief, but with no avail, so everyone just left. When we got back from our lunch break, our class adviser came in, he was really angry and said he`d have to tell the ODS (Office of Disciplinary Services) about it, then he left for his class in the classroom beside ours and our CLE (Christian Life Education) teacher came in our room for our class. We took our quiz and then after the quiz our teacher asked us why our class adviser was mad and we told him the story. Our teacher tried to help us find the thief by saying how stealing leads only to temporary pleasure and when caught, no one would look at the thief in the same way. So he proposed that we all put down our heads on the table and if the thief wanted to admit to it, he could just raise his head, so not everyone would find out about it, but no one gave in. So CLE was done and it was time for Chinese. Our Class Adviser came in again and had an empty bag, he asked everyone with electronic gadgets to put the gadgets in that empty bag (because we aren`t allowed to bring electronic devices to school and if there were to be an inspection we`d all get sanctioned, so yeah, our adviser really looks out for us.) Chinese came and after Chinese was PE, so we all went our separate ways, but out class adviser asked us to leave all our stuff in the room to be inspected, but I was sure no one would get caught, the thief probably hid it somewhere already.

There is this one person who we all think did it. For the following reasons:
1. He was acting suspicious when we were all joking around about the inspection.
2. He was alone in our classroom during the whole Recess period (opportunity to steal.)
3. He went to the comfort room after recess during Math period. (He could have used that opportunity to hide the iPod if he didn`t already hide it during Recess.)
4. He was especially quite when we were all talking about it.
5. He was stealing ballpens off the floor during Chinese Class.

Anyway...

A Blog? Wow... it has been many months since my last one. I actually forgot how to do the tags for my font. How very sad.

It was a tough year last year. I lost my job (nothing I did, they just can't afford me anymore) and haven't been able to get another one. Got sick and had to go through a the whole medical testing thing again and busted my back a couple of times (bulging discs, yay!).

I was hoping that this year would be better but it began with my Grandfather having a fall on New Years Day and going into hospital. He developed pneumonia and passed away at 5am last Thursday. His Funeral is tomorrow. He was 93 years old, so he did well. He was so lonely the last couple of years without my Grandmother and I pray that he is now reunited with her.

I can't believe another year has flown by so quickly. At this rate it will be Next year in no time.

I feel Christmas and all celebrations from different faiths are really all about FAMILY and FRIENDS. In the end its the togetherness of a community. Its not about the gifts we recieve but just the company and sharing. I hope everyone is having fun out there and not over doing it with party food i learnt it the hard way.

well, it has officially been too long since i blogged. i've really been trying to make time to come back, but iv'e been totally wrapped up in school. so a bunch of things have gone down since the last time i was here;
-i turned sixteen =]. and my first real birthday party went great.
-i'm still to scared to drive.
-school started, obviously. first trimester is actually almost over and exams are this coming wednesday/thursday. but anyway, my clas.ses are Economics (nap time), Aerobics (chinese water torture), Modern Political and Economic Issues (actually really interesting, and the teacher is, well i'll just say it, astronomically hot), Digital Image Design (snore, but i have learned some stuff), and Spanish III (muy bueno, even though i can barely speak a lick even after three years).
-one word; OBAMA!
and there are some things to come.
-new clas.ses are English III (my favorite subject, even though i still haven't started my summer reading), Spanish III (we talked about this before), Chemistry (excuse me while i take a vomit break), Comet Savings & Loan (that's the school bank. hopefully i'll get into the marketing department), and Pre-Calculus (i already forget how to factor. epic fail).
-my amazingly stupendous Grandma Von is turning the big 7-0 and we are having her a surprise birthday this weekend! some family members are coming in to town and staying with us. and i really should be cleaning right now, but it's not like the dust is going anywhere.
-i've been working really hard on My Top 100 Movies. i'm not sure if anybody will pay attention or anything, but i've had a lot of fun making it. i've still got a few movies to watch. and even though i think he'll return before i finish, i'll definitely wait until Joey returns before i start the list. how could i ever do a movie list without him around? he is totally the king.

well, that's pretty much it. i've really missed being at tvDOTcom and i hope that i'll have some free time to hang out here, at the forum, and on MSN. junior year has proven to be as tough as everyone said it would be. i'm already completely burned out, and it's only november. but nevermind that, hope to see you guys soon!
