A profile paintjob
So... my days of gamespot are pretty much down to checking in on friend's blogs... but, I still enjoy playing with photoshop, so I've whipped up a new look for my profile. Included; a new banner (see above) a new avatar (see side) and I'm currently working on a piece to replace my "favs" pic that sits on top of my blog.
I've got a new "favs" started, but also started a new pic not dealing with the "favs" subject. Any preference to either?
I've also got a few ideas for some new blog ideas (will be posted on blogger, will link from here) and i hope to step that up a bit more too. If you havn't already check out my blog at http://www.hush404.com , thanks.
Be well.

Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy (Film)
So, I came across a superb fanmade MGS movie... or at least part 1 of 3 (they don't have the other parts complete yet).
I wrote a pretty lengthy blog about it here.
Here's a tiny snippit:
I've just had the pleasure of sitting down to a viewing of a fan made movie (or rather a part of one) by a group of Italian film school students. The movie, just released to the masses via their website (as of Sept 27, 2009), is based on the characters and myth of the Metal Gear Solid series of video games.
Titled "Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy" the movie has been in production on and off for a few years now and the team plans to release it in three parts for free as a tribute to the source and to fans. Part one of the series is subtitled "The Overnight Nation" which introduces us to the character Snake and the group he is currently aligned with "Philanthropy", who's sole mission (in this instance) is to rescue a man of importance from a disclosed location. From this introduction we assume that CG will play a heavy role in the course of the film... and while that is true, the implementation of said effects are less apparent as the picture roles on.
Online Now! (about time!)

So... after what seems like 40,000 years worth of torture in the form of dialup... I've finially got something better. Our local government made a promise to have our entire province (americans - think state) hooked up to a broadband connection in one form before the end of 2009.... and they seem to be keeping their word.
The local "Wireless Broadband" (which I think uses the Y-Max technology) was by just yesterday and in less than an hour had a signal, an attena planted to the side of the house and cat5 cable run from that through the house to our router
We've already cancelled the dialup subscription and I've already been downloading my heart away ![]()
I've already given Soul Calibur 4, Street Fighter 4 and Home a go online, others to follow ![]()
I have both a PS3 and 360 and DS/PSP as well as an account with Guild Wars I need to get into so please dun hesitate to hit me up for a game of w/e.

" A lonely, feeble and shy young boy is bullied at school and ignored at home. He is desperate for companionship and fantasizes about revenge on his tormentors.
Oskar often plays alone in the snowy yard in front of his apartment building. One night, while practicing his revenge on a small tree, Oskar meets Eli -- a strange and curious soul who is fascinated by Oskar Rubik's Cube. Eli completes the puzzle by morning.
We learn, before Oskar does, that Eli is a vampire who feeds off of the occasional local resident. However, they strike up a nocturnal friendship that soon blossoms into an agreement of "going steady".
The film tracks this relationship as Oskar begins to stand up to his school bullies and Eli struggles to sustain the violent feeding habits. We watch as both children help each other with their respective problems." - Written by tccandler.com
- I actually spent quite a while writing up a synopsis about the movie but had difficulties with including spoilers... so instead I just quoted a much better pieced together blurb, as it does it great justice.
I picked this movie up just yesterday and watched it as soon as I got home, as I was eagerly awaiting it. It's a film I've heard of quite a while ago, which I'm glad I got my hands on. Right from the get go I knew it was a vampire movie and being a vampire movie I expected action, suspense and other such things that one might expect out of a vampire movie... instead I got something much more memorable. The story of these two "kids" is a well thought out and well filmed movie, with huge cred going out to the young (first time) actors who pulled it off beautifully. The way in which it plays out feels very different, foreign and almost exciting because of how different it is. While some may find it quirky, I'm right at home with it and can't wait to watch it again.
If you can find a copy somewhere go pick it up! The movie is in Swedish with english subtitles, but there's also a english dub made included as well... which is ok... if you prefer not to read but not great in terms of acting. I did notice tho the subtitles are poorly done with translation not matching up with the english dub very well at all. So, I leave it up to you which you want to watch it with.
Word has it there's an english remake happening sometime in 2010. If it's even close to the original look out for it... I somehow doubt they can pull off the same feel tho.
