Water Bottles. aren't they the weirdest thing? why don't people just put tap water in a cup? water in a water bottle is utterly ridiculous, anda huge waste of plastic an energy.

Make-up. Mascara...eyeliner. that's all you need for the whole day. why waste so much money on different colors and types of make-up? no point. unless you're in a show.

Drinks. Why do people have to make all of these fancy drinks that no one ends up drinking? have one flavor of every type of drink there is, and you would save soooooo much money, plastic, time, and energy

Paper. Use both sides! Unless it's an important document, there's no harm in using the other side of a piece of paper.

Plastic Soda Carriers. you know, the ones that kill fish. How hard is it to take a pair of sissors and cut the spots where the fish's, or dolphin's head gets stuck.

Anorexia and Bielema. Who cares what you look like? you are you. Who cares if you don't have all of the hot guys in the palm of your hand? you have friends, you have family. that's all that matters. And you have yourself. Don't try and change that using bad methods.

Abuse of Others. It's mean. That pretty much sums it up. How horrible of a person can you be if you have to hurt others to keep yourself happy?

Shoes. Come on people. 2 pairs of sneakers...3 pairs of sandals...on pair of nice shoes that will go with anything. that's all you need.

Clothes. Wear what you have. If you need something, buy it. Don't go fruitlessly shopping for clothes that you will never wear. If you have what you need, think of yourself as lucky.

I'm so sad!! swimming's over and done. so so sad. tomorrow we have our end of year banquet. .

but there is one potential swim thing. sometime in july, our late night party was canceled because the tiger sharks had a make-up meet the next day. so my friend erin was talking to the organizer person, and she said that they might have a surprise late night party sometime in august. but knowing my luck it will probably be during the week that i'm in florida. yepp, i bet it will be. and then that will be another thing to be sad about.

today my friend steph had a bbq for swimming people. it was me, erin, her, kelly, megan, tayrn and max. (kelly, megan, and tayrn are our friend...obviously) and then her twin had a bunch of girls over from their school. so max was the only guy out of 13 people. and of course, us being us, we talked about stuff that you normally wouldn't talk about in front of guys...even though we're 16 we still do that. so he was just sitting there, looking uncomfortable...but only at sometimes.

champs was fun. i won two of my heats. got 2 crappy green ribbons. but hey, nothing can beat the memories.

then tomorrow i resume camp. i'm a counsler helper person i guess. ihave to be in a play with a bunch of little kids and make sure they don't kill themselves or something like that. at least i'm not by myself though. 3 other people that do just what i do. because there's 4 groups, haha.

We don't swim because we are forced to. We don't like the long practices, hot days, and hard work. But we still swim. We swim for the friends. We swim for the satisfaction of beating your own time. We swim for the rush we get when we dive in. We swim for the screaming people cheering us on. We swim for the happiness of getting first, second or third place. We swim for the laughs. We swim for the songs we think in our heads underwater. We swim for the good/bad feeling of being completely out of breath. We swim for the feeling of the water rushing past us. We swim for the jokes. We swim for our hilarious coaches. We swim for the memories we create. We swim to get away from life. We swim to take away two or three hours a day to think about what's happening. We swim for the flirting that comes from the person we like when we're doing endless kickboarding. We swim for the feeling of being weightless. We swim for, when we're underwater, the feeling of being completely alone. We swim for when we come back up and we hear the outside world. We swim for the people that can't. We swim because we love it. We swim because we love our coaches. We swim because we love our friends. We swim because of the great feeling of relief when practice is finally over. We swim for the great time we have jumping in the diving well after a meet. We swim for the loud buzz that indicates we have to put our heart, mind, and soul into the race. We swim to encourage our teammates to win. We swim to beat who we are competing against. We swim for fun. We swim for the summer life. We swim to get away from school and learning. We swim so we feel like a family with our team. We swim to watch our hot coaches with their shirts off. We swim for the time we spend together. We swim because we want to.

And we swim for you Anthony.

My friend died on July 6th. He was in a car accident, heading home from the shore. His girlfriend was driving, and the car got out of control. they veered into the woods and hit a tree-right on the passenger side. Anthony was the most spirited person I ever knew. On my swim team, he was always the one leading the cheers and getting everybody pumped. We will miss him, and I know my life is forever changed from knowing him.

We love you Anthony! Rest in Peace.
