I love you, Youtube :D And news from Franz Ferdinand

It's youtube crazy-downloading time.. I watched some live videos of Muse performing and I want to go to the actual thing, damnit! XD

I've probably got a few of their videos in my thumb drive right now..It's madness XD

Oh yes, by the way, something for Franz Ferdinand fans:

PS: I heard it, but it's not sticking to my ears yet with this new single, Ulysses. Hmmm..and today's the offical release of this song in the UK if I'm not wrong.

A new start to a new year

It's officially my last year in polytechnic now and I'll be off for attachment to some bio company or whatnot in March...And already I'm starting to feel boggered down XD I'm still playing guitar and my friend just introduced me to some acoustic guitar players and they sound nice...well I've been out of the alt scene for at least two years now, so I didn't really listen to much.

Oh yeah, I dunno whether you guys have heard of them but they are really good One of them is the Japanese group Depapepe and they do awesome tricks with their guitars. Check the out on Youtube..they're good I forgot the title of the song that my friend let me listen to though. Maybe I should look them up on Youtube ( cue sound of rustling papers)*

I've had enough of the alt scene now officially, I know some of you guys have the same sentiments and I'm now listening to stufffrom the 80s and 70s and 90s..Blondie, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, etc. Current bands that I would be listening to includes Death Cab For Cutie, Muse, Franz Ferdinand and CSS-CSS is seriously awesomeness ;D

Well speaking of which, I gotta go prepare for school now..Ja mata

Yeah legally 18 :D

I turned 18 on 11 Oct and nope, nothing special about that..I'm not a boozer or a bar-hopper either XD so it's back to my guitar and doodling as usual.

Music-wise, I'm getting into the tings tings (Yeah I know they're kind of annoying, but still..) and on-off Muse and all hyped up for Franz Ferdinand's fourth album which is gonna be released next year ( Jan I heard). I haven't listened to the radio for a long, long time since it's getting more and toxic to my ears. XD AWW **** MAN I FEEL SO OLD WHEN I COME BACK TO THIS FORUM OCASSIONALLY bleah i't's been three years!! We should hold a forum party for the old-timers ( three years or more) in General Discussion some time soon. Anyone up for it? I MISS THE OLD DAYSSS

Whew long time since I was last here

I haven't been tuning into any indie stuff for about a year now, been absolutely clueless-I don't know about you, but I think the music they're playing right now seems to be just duplicates of everyone. I can't differenciate one band from the other these days......I've been getting more into the older stuff like Portishead and their past songs, Led Zeppelin, Smashing Pumpkins and the such. Other than that, not much really.

The songs on this album are really great, but now I see why they draw so many comparisons to their famous counterparts Radiohead. On some songs they sound like them, especially with Matt's falsetto. It's kind of Creep-esque. There's a song called Falling Down in this album and it's one of the songs that's not on their singles that I really like cos it's got that Britpop-rock sound. :)

The songs Sunburn, Uno, Unintended(popularized in my school for the great melody and also unfortunately bastardized after that)and Muscle Museum capture that raw energy that they were famous for back in the old good days. If you ask me why I'm writing this review after like, 8 bloody years later, that's cos I got this album from my friend recently (trust me, it's been on my wish list like forever.)

On the whole, good debut attempt from these guys (and looking forward to the 5th album's "Symphonic Monster"as described by Dom Howard in his own words :D

The current album is a little bluesy and also a little country-ish, which is rather unusual for the White Stripes cos they play really loud garage-y music, but Jack White interprets them really well with the tracks Effect and Cause and Prickly Thorn, But Sweetly Worn. However, there is still the ocassional whimsical song, like Rag and Bone(possibly the cutest ditty on this album where the members banter with each other).
On the overall, it's a good album-the White Stripes haven't lost their touch yet. :)

Gnarly music with loads of electro elements-my fave track is look at what we have. But the vocals do need some high energy power as well..still it's a good effort!

This album is simply one I just can't stop playing in my CD player-Matt Bellamy exercises his vocal potential(and explores the Italian sounds) on their fourth studio release.Supermassive Black Hole is simply a delight to listen to,with its electronica-heavy metal sounds and his perfect falsettoes.Hoodoo sees Bellamy experimenting with Italian melodies and has a dark,dramatic-opera sounding vibe to it that crecendoes with angry piano keys and violins. On the whole, this is the best sounding Muse album so far.

Their self-titled album is actually good stuff, because Alex Kapranos's voice really shows its potential on this album. It's filled with revenge, regret, naughtiness, sex and the academic stuff-actually not really...but I imagine this is one album college students would have.My favourites would have to be Jacqueline, This Fire, Michael,Tell Her Tonight and Take Me Out. This is one excellent debut that you have to check out right now.
