Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
Yay! I finally got my computer back today! The charging port had come loose and I could no longer (reliably) charge the battery. I figured out over the course of the last five days that I am addicted to the computer. I think I seriously went through a withdrawal this weekend! Let's see, there's seems some other reason to celebrate... Oh yeah! It's my birthday. I quit counting 10 years ago (when I was officially 29), but I do love the presents. Even at my age (and I have sisters 9, 10, and 13 years older than me), my mom still insists on throwing us a birthday party. We tell her not to bother, but secretly we all love it!
Oh - another reason to celebrate. I got the editorship for Princess Diana. I was surprised no one had it before. I always admired her spirit.
Hope you are all well!

New level, new emblem, new editorship, and a request for advice!
Well, I'm ever so slowly moving up here at TV.com. I just don't have the time to keep up with some of you guys! Anyway, since my last blog I've moved up to Level 29 (38%) - Volgar the Enforcer. I also got the cute little cupcake emblem and picked up the editorship for Mindy Cohn. She played Natalie on The Facts of Life and is now the voice of Velma on Scooby Doo.
I've a quick question and would like some advice. Recently a new family built a house just down the street from mine. The kid comes over to my house all the time, and I'm one of those people who stays so busy that I don't like a lot of company in my downtime anyway - especially students (though I don't teach him). To top it off, he asks a lot of weird questions like how many people live at my house, when does my check come, what nights do I work, etc.. Also, this kid's reputation preceded him. Though I didn't know him personally, I had been warned that he had a reputation for bothering neighbors and stealing. Living on such a quiet street, I've long had the habit of not locking my car at night. Several days ago, my son's Gameboy SP went missing out of the Explorer. When I saw the kid the next day, he mentioned that he saw someone in my car and I told him how appalled I was that someone would steal, how hard I worked, my values, etc. Lo and behold, the kid seemed to find the SP on the ground the next day. I told him that I now set the alarm on my vehicle every night. Anyway, bottom line is that I don't trust him, but I can't seem to come right out and tell him to "go away". Any advice?
Look at the pretty flower!
I haven't been online for a few days, but I was pleasently surprised to see the lovely yellow tulip icon for participating in the spring fling chat. I didn't know there would be icon for that! Thanks, TV.com!
I'm now fully a week out of school and am just beginning to recuperate! I'm not exactly worry-free. I'm still taking a college course, teaching a college course, and of course shuffling my son back and forth to baseball and the like. I am, however, enjoying some free time to dive into some of my favorite DVD sets that I haven't gotten to fully watch. (Anything to avoid cleaning!) Right now I'm reliving memories with one of my favorite series from the '80's - The Facts of Life. Any other TV box sets anyone want to recommend?
Peace - and to all a good night!

Music On My Mind...
"Happy Days Are Here Again" for "School's Out for Summer"! It's been an "Unforgettable" year, but "I Made It Through the Rain" by vowing that "I Will Survive". I don't know if my kids will "Remember Me" after all my discipline regarding their efforts to "Take It To The Limit" and my mandates that they show some "Respect". At least now they can "Get Off of My Cloud" and start "Takin' It To The Streets". "After All" this time, most would agree that I'm "Still Crazy After All These Years". However, thanks to "Mother's Little Helper", I'm still "Staying Alive". "Truly", I can't say they were really "Bad To The Bone", but we did occasionally have the "Bad Day". So what if some "People Are Strange"? Underneath, we're all just "People Who Need People". For now, it's time to jump on the "Peace Train" and "Turn the Page". I'm ready to "Soak Up The Sun". My mantra for the summer is "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow".
Idol Fever!
It started with Reuben Studdard, the winner of season two. Then we had our runner-up in season four, Bo Bice. Now, Alabamians everywhere are cheering on Taylor Hicks for season five. I'm telling you, this mania is consuming the Gulf Coast, the home of Taylor's grandmother. People all over are wearing "Soul Patrol" T-Shirts, support signs are sprouting up at busy intersections in Mobile, and LuLu's in Gulf Shores (a popular indoor/outdoor restaurant owned by Jimmy Buffett's sister) is having a Taylor Hicks party complete with a sixteen foot screen in the outdoor part and many other televisions throughout the establishment. It's hard not to get caught up in Taylor fever around here! I guess we'll see tomorrow night!
