First, I would like to point out that regardless of what “real music” should be, this song started out as a young boy imitating (with nothing but his voice) an object that to him, was melodically pleasing. Considering that there are people in Africa who imitate drums in the same way and seem to get more respect, how is this not music? He posted it online for his own amusement, and it just happened to be found by another boy who added a background track (although one that didn’t belong to him) to make it a song, and because it was also pleasing to the younger generations ears, it became a huge hit. I think the video was based on the responses of everyone who tries too hard and takes things too seriously.
