The Next Big Thing.

Hello, and welcome to my blog. Recently, I've been working on something, something a little bit special. I've always been something of a writer, and something of a webdesigner. And so, I jumped at the chance of creating a roleplay website with my friend Jamil. What is roleplay I might hear you ask? Well, its effectivly a form of writing that allows you to share your experience with other people, and meet all sorts of like minded people. This new roleplay site is something of a special occasion for me, because the plot is loosly connected to other projects I am working. And so, if you have ever roleplayed before, please join my site. But also, if you have never roleplayed before, but would like to learn (Even if this is the 1st time you've heard about it) why not take a look, and perhaps join me and my fellow roleplayers. And so, without futher ado, and any futher guilding the lilly. I present, SurvivorZ. http://z10.invisionfree.com/SurvivorZ/index.php?

Undisclosed Desires

I've been a bit slack on the spoiler front lately, haven't I? Time to mend my ways.

Glee - TV3 in Ireland are airing the first episode tomorrow night at 9.30pm and have been overdoing the promotions all week long so in over 24 hours I can see what the fuss is about. E4 are premiering it Monday 9pm from January 11th, according to DigitalSpy.

Brothers And Sisters - No UK date for Season 4 yet but recently Matthew Rhys directed the episode, Pregnant Pause and it seems that Rebecca's pregnancy is going ahead. Cheryl Hines is also appearing as Kitty's friend, Buffy. No, that's what they're calling her.

True Blood - Pam's going all sapphic on us in the third season as Kristen Bauer is finally made a regular. Denis O'Hare has been cast as King Of Mississippi vampire, Russell Edgington with Theo Alexander cast as his lover, Talbot. Marshall Allman will be Sam's long lost brother and the first two episodes of the third season are called Pack Of Wolves and Beautifully Broken. The character of Crystal Norris will debut in the second one.Grant Bowler is also playing werewolf biker, Coot.

Dexter - FXUK are airing the fourth season in May but it looks like we're going to have some interesting times ahead, especially as two characters married in secret in the most recent US episode.

Desperate Housewives - There's a plane, an episode where Susan does a strip tease, more on the Bolens and Jane Leeves being cast as a therapist for Tom Scavo. Season 6 doesn't sound that exciting so far if I'm being candid.

Lost - Season 6 cast shot were released this week, so have a look ... http://thetvaddict.com/2009/12/10/this-just-in-your-first-look-at-losts-season-6-promotional-photos/

Ashes To Ashes - The third season is nearly finished filming and it looks like a certain Life On Mars may return according to series creator Matthew Graham.Daniel Mays will also be playing a vital role in the final season, based in 1983.

The Impressions Show - Brief Review

Anne Robinson: "Well who gets a black eye if he runs down the stairs and he's not wearing a sports bra?"
Simon Cowell: "Ouch that hurt, not the insult, just looking at your face."

You can't exactly move for the amount of impressions shows that are out there and like many, there's a hit and miss quality. Ridiculously shunted to a Saturday 9pm timeslot, Jon Culshaw's latest outing is interesting indeed.

Teaming up with Debra Stephenson (Bad Girls, Corrie), The Impression Show sees the duo spoofing pretty much every easy target known to the British public. In the space of five weeks we've seen Colleen Rooney treat Wayne literally like a dog, Davina McCall and Claudia Winkleman gush over hideous dresses, Cheryl Cole's footballer's wife take on Cinderella, Gene Hunt's audition for Doctor Who and my personal favourite, Simon Cowell vs. Anne Robinson. Sports bras and chimp descendents indeed.

The show won't win points for originality and some of the sketches themselves have done much funnier on the likes of Dead Ringers (the Alan Sugar ones for example) but Culshaw and Stephenson have a wonderful rapport and for the more part, the jokes are genuinely funny, plus Stephenson's resemblance to Davina is a little unnerving.

Check out some clips here ... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=the+impression+show&search_type=&aq=f

Buffy - Who Is Twilight?

Why it's Barack Obama of course, except not. This is a spoof cover but the identity behind Season 8's foe will be revealed in Issue 33 at long last. Issue 31 due for January release is called Turbulence while Issues 32-35 are called Twilight and will finally give the much needed answers on this guy's identity.

In other news, the comics are set to become webisodes, which I hope for Joss Whedon's sake fare better than Dollhouse did.

Doctor Who - Dreamland

Weirdish animation but better than The Infinity Quest.

- Cassie and Jimmy were decent stand in companions. Georgia Moffett is definitely keeping her involvement with this franchise.

- Azlok made for an okay villain, though the Viperox's motives were too breathtakingly original.

- Some of the series music worked, some didn't.

- The alien couple looked really stereotypically alien, didn't they?

Review for this story is up here and Blogspot. The End Of Time Part 1 airs Christmas Day on BBC1 at 6pm.

Merlin - 2x10/2x11: Sweet Dreams/The Witch's Quickening

The season is hitting it's stride and these were an interesting mix.

- Georgia Moffett played the spoilt Vivian pretty well. The end scene with her was funny. Still under the spell.

- Arthur and Gwen's snog was a long time coming. Break the rules, prove Gwen wrong.

- Morgana helping Alvarr and Mordred and her open contempt for Uther, love it.

- The preview for the next episode revealed a welcome return.

The Fires Of Idirsholas airs tomorrow at 6pm on BBC1. The show has been renewed for a third season. Isn't that brilliant?

True Blood - 2x03/2x04: Scratches/Shake And Fingerpop

Losing further objectivity. This show is getting insanely brilliant.

- Sookie got attacked by a creature that has to be linked to Maryann.

- Jessica and Hoyt are sweet. Unsure of Tara/Eggs or Sam/Daphne.

- Love the Dallas antics and Lafayette tasting Eric's blood.

- Maryann's orgies are getting out of hand. And Jason needs to get away from Steve and Sarah Newlin.

Review for both episodes are up here and Blogspot. I'll catch up with Never Let Me Go and Hard-Hearted Hannah soon. Season 2 premieres on FXUK from February 2010.

Twilight?!?!

So, because I am bored, I want to start a social experiment. Lets just say, to bring a little excitement over to my corner of the interwebs - so feel free to advertise this blog to your friends if this is something they may be interested in.

Setting the scene:

Unless you've been living under a rock, in a cave, on the moon with your ears covered while screaming "la la la la la la la" at the top of your lungs for no apparent reason, you've heard of Twilight. The book series which spawned a series of movies which launched Robert Pattinson from an unknown actor to a name so household I will bet any money that the #1 boys name next year will be Robert (or possibly Edward).

Twilight has spawned a new generation of feral fangirls - the dreaded Twihards. Fangirs so feral they make the Supernatural fangirls (yep, even the ones who are into Wincest) seem like Princess Di. And it hasn't stopped there. Self respecting guys have fallen for the franchise. I refuse to believe any who says they "saw it with my girlfriend" because they "made me".

Case study: A male mate of mine suffered a pretty nasty injury after standing on rocks on a beach to which waves were crashing over. I can't remember what parts of his body weren't scraped on the sand and rocks when he was knocked over, but it was somewhere up to 90% of his body had suffered some sort of injury. This happened on the day of the New Moon premiere. Even with injuries sustained (which I should point out weren't hospital worthy - he's a big guy and he's completely fine now) he went to see New Moon that night, because he is "an awesome boyfriend". I proceeded to ask, "which was more painful: your injuries or New Moon?". He answered "The injuries, but not by much". I concluded with "you must have been hurt pretty bad then!". He claims he wasn't.

As you can see from the above case study, not even injuries sustained could stop him from being dragged to the premiere. Which makes me believe that secretly he enjoyed it. Because Twilight should always be more painful than any injury sustained. Cause you're a guy and Twilight is one of the biggest chick flicks around.

So, going back to the Twihards. Not only are they in the 12 - 16 age bracket, there are the more and more common Twimums. Mothers, yes mothers, who are so into Twilight it is somewhat wrong to be drooling over a 17 year old boy! A boy who is young enough to be your son. Or the ones who start comparing the fictional character Edward Cullen to their real husband. You know who you are *points wildly*.

The Question:

So, this brings me to the point of this blog. If you've stuck around this long and you consider yourself a Twihard, I applaude you *hands out cookies*.

There are 2 types of people in this world: Ones who love Twilight in any form, and the ones who can't stand it and wish it would just disappear forever.

So, if you like Twilight the book, Twilight the movie, think Rob Pattinson is hot, consider yourself to be a Twihard or a Twimum, I want to know what it is that makes this series so appealing to you.

And if you are just so over Twilight, Team Edward and Jacob, want to shake all the tween Twihards so hard their memory of Twilight is erased, and slap some sense into the Twimums, I want to know what it is that makes you hate this series.

Feel free to comment below, whether it be a straight-to-the-point sentence or a passionate 3 page essay (seriously, if you feel the urge to write a 3 page essay, please just send me the summary ).

My stance:

As you have probably already gathered, I sit in the Twilight hater camp. I often refer to Twihards as Twitards (but only the extreme ones, and the self-confessed male fans). It has just expanded and spiraled out of control. I didn't even feel this bad about Harry Potter, and I would actually prefer to watch Harry Potter - And I can't stand Harry Potter. I feel that I should break this down:

1. Edward Cullen is not a vampire. Vampires burn in sunlight, they don't "sparkle" (or sweat so profusely the sun glints off and we have to see Pattinson's freaky body 10 times in the one scene). I don't know how he reacts to garlic/holy water/wooden steaks (though, from my sister's oh-so-sarcastic reaction to watching a scene from True Blood "oh, so these Vampires die by a wooden steak? How original!") I would say he doesn't react in the same way as a traditional Vampire. So, Twihards, tell me, in what ways do the Twilight vampires act like more traditional vampires, and how do they differ?

2. Have I mentioned the crazy Twihards? They make me somewhat ashamed to be a fan of True Blood. They make me hate vampires that much more, however the somewhat normal vampires in True Blood bring me back to Earth. Give me an anti-Twilight t-shirt, and I will wear it proudly. And most likely attack any twihards who have a problem with it.

I also blame Twihards for this little etiquette guide a convention group posted. I have been to several conventions, and I have never, ever seen a set of rules so strict. Way to ruin it for the rest of us, Twihards! And to rub it in, yes, I have seen an actor at a convention with his shirt off. The audience egged him on and he complied. No more of that *glares*.

Finally, and not really a valid point, so I wont include it in my reasons, but I'll just put it out there: Rob Pattinson is troll like and totally not hot. He has a weird freaky body with weird freaky nipples. I will give him credit however, for having chest hair in New Moon (only observed from the trailer that was advertised every ad break of every show!) even if it was CGI'd (with his CGI'd abs). Nay to hairless!

And if you've got this far without wanting to throw something out of a window, then you're not a Twihard, and I congratulate you . If you feel the need to destroy something though, feel free to vent below - all comments welcome (all within TV.com's rules and regulations though - play nice )

Torchwood's Triple-Play

Hi,

As the title might suggest this is gonna be a Torchwood heavy blog... Which of my blog isn't? Might be a question you feel you have a right to ask... Well, None... but you know it's called an obsession for a good reason .

I have only one news and Jodie already know it... I have a throat infection, went to the Doctor's (I wish) and he said I shouldn't talk... Which is hard, I'm always saying something to Pertwee or Phi, I'm trying though, hasn't worked too well since I watched The Dead Line and screamed and squealed after Ianto . The good thing about my visit to the doctor is I finished Beautiful Chaos (Shawn reviewed it in his last blog so I'm not gonna do that) and I loved it!

There's no spoilers in My Thoughts, I was careful and Rach, you have to (really, really, have to) listen to The Dead Line!

Okay, now for the main attraction:

Asylum by Anita Sullivan

Radio 4's description:

When PC Andy arrests a teenager for shoplifting, he thinks it is going to be a routine case. Then he sees the weapon she is carrying and decides to call in the Torchwood team. Under questioning from Gwen, the girl remembers her name but little else, and when she speaks it is in a strange mix of English and Scandinavian, but with a Cardiff accent. Then the girl's blood tests come through and the team is faced with a dilemma.

My thoughts:

I'm not sure I understands the way PC Andy thinks about Torchwood in this play, to me after Exit Wounds there's is no doubt he understands this is about Aliens or something really weird; the author makes it sounds like he is still confused and to my mind he shouldn't be... but it doesn't mean what I think is right on that account. I think the big plus of this story is it's very visual, you really see what's going on so the descriptions are really good. I didn't get the title until the very end; I'll blame that on my being French speaking . It's a good story, exploring what Torchwood could be, not just what it is... Seems to me Jack is moving closer to his goal of making Torchwood more that what it was before he was in charge.

Golden Age by James Goss

Radio 4's description:

The Torchwood team are led to Delhi on the trail of a dangerous energy field. As the field grows, they witness the simultaneous disappearance of hundreds of people. Jack discovers that the field centres on an old colonial mansion, Torchwood India.

Shocked to find that Torchwood India is still going strong after he shut it down himself over 80 years ago, he is even more surprised to find that its members, including his old flame the Duchess, haven't aged a day.

My Thoughts:

My least favorite of the three, I didn't really love James Goss' book 'Almost Perfect' either (Ianto as a girl didn't do it for me...). The biggest strength of this play is that it is set in India, that doesn't say a lot for it. The thing is, that story was so similar to other stories (not in TW, but in Sci-fi) about people being taken out of their time, wanting to be taken out of their time that it felt like rehashing instead of the innovation TW is normally. I didn't dislike the story, it just wasn't very original and we get so few new plays that I would think they would green light only things that would really gel with other TW tie-ins.

The Dead Line by Phil Ford

Radio 4's description:

When a Cardiff hospital is inundated with patients who have fallen into coma -like trances, Torchwood move in to investigate. The trances appear to have been triggered by phone calls, all received on retro phones and made from a number that hadn't been active for over 30 years. Determined to find out who has been calling the unfortunate victims, Jack rings the mysterious number, but the line is dead. But then it calls Jack back.

My Thoughts:

OMG, it was so good!!!! First, the scary bit about the phones which in a way is not a new threat, we've seen phones used that way before, but the twist it gives the story is great! The best thing about this story? It's the Ianto speech and I won't give more details than that, but about almost a year of waiting for some Janto action, it was very nice to have the side of Ianto and how he felt about things for once! I loved the story for other reasons, saw Rhys get involve with solving a case in this one... This is the best and I don't want to ruin it for anyone so go listen to it now!!!!!!!

What can I say more? Have a good Torchweek!!! Yes, it's almost here less than 24 hours to wait!!!

Be good, I know this is not the best quality John Pic, but it's the one I have to (oh, what a life!) stare at for a month (it's July on my calendar and I wanted to share, it's gorgeous in real life ).

I kind of promise someone this picture, I kind of think it's not the one the person was looking for, but we can never get too much John .

Phin xx

Blog 227: It's the end... but the moment has been prepared for.

Dear all,

I really don't think the content of this blog is going to surprise anyone, given that I've not exactly been a frequent visitor or contributor recently.

Yes, the time has come for me to leave. It's a real shame but- circumstances being what they are for me at the moment- I don't have the time I would like to devote here. My enthusiasm for reviewing and submitting has seriously seriously waned and I'd rather not do anything at all than do it half-heartedly.

There are a lot of people I will miss here, but thanks to the wonders of Facebook we can still be in touch.

I'd like to thank you all for reading these inane blogs and commenting and for your friendship and good wishes. You're all stars.

Thank you once again.

Good night and good luck,

With love

I don't like being lied to!!! (Bones obviously...)

One question?

WHY THE HELL WERE WE LIED TO???

I would have preferred to have been kept wondering over the true nature of B&B's sex scene, instead of anticipating something that it was never going to be: REAL.

This was means to be a tribute; lying is not a tribute.

Brilliantly Evil

Well, it's been a while, and I still don't have much to blog about, but I did have a brilliant idea.

After randomly catching an episode of cassanova, I've decided I must watch that show. Also, I had a revelation. David Tennant, fantastic actor, god of screen and stage, and all round good guy, would make the perfect casting in a show that should be / is being, remade.

Yes David tennant should be cast as Kerr Avon, in blake's 7. if they ever get off their collective asses and make it happen, he would do the role justice.

Unfortunately, I don't they are planning a remake, but more of a continuation. hopefully though, we could see some of Avon from the "in between years".

anyways, it was an idea, and a chance to blog something.

coming up, pictures of a doctor who car!!!!

This 24 may be 20 hours too long
Now first let me say I'm a big fan of 24, and the new season is very exciting, BUT either the FBI is full of computer illiterates (and they do like spouting their IT-banble) or they have the least credible threat of all time.

So, for those of you not watching it, the main threat is someone has a device that can hack the government firewall. Whoopy Do! All that means is that they can route packets of data past the firewall and into the private network behind. It does NOT mean they can log on to any of the systems behind it, they would need valid userids and passwords (no mention of those having been acquired) and even if they did, it is work of minutes to suspend the compromised userIDs, which in the days of Sarbaines Oxley auditing requirements they'd be able to spot from the audit.

But to me the real kicker is, it will take them hours to rewrite the firewall, yep probably true, but it takes one second to unplug the network cable that connnects the private network to the outside world. All critical systems will be designed to be able to run on their own network without any external data feeds for a while, and the sort of systems they are talking about are classic cases. Air Traffic control would have it's own private resilient network for critical data since it is too vital to rely on internet. The external connection will only be for things like feeds to civilian services (such as real time flight info on the web), all critical communication would be via a private network.

So for that sake of my sanity just pull the plugs and go after the terrorists without this unrealistic threat!!!

I have to say the latest 24 is rather typical of "Hollywood IT". They like to drop in mysterious terms like Ports, Packets and Servers, and even Mainframe (and then show you a Unix box). But then when they show you displays they have BIG FLASHING GRAPHICS for unauthorised access and user interface things that have NEVER existed in the real world. Do they think the whole world is full of IT morons. IT on TV today is a bit like driving a car in a movie in the 50s, you know perpetual swinging of the wheel from left to right. Anyone that's ever been in a car knows that's not right, so why the hell did directors, who presumably have driven, put it in movies - the same goes for IT - just stop it!!!

Spotlight, Etc.!

Hey guys. I know it's been a very long time (is this how I always start my blogs now?), but I thought that the fact I'm in the TV.com Spotlight this week is reason enough to do it.

I'm actually posting this from Movietome - for some reason I'm unable to access TV.com or Gamespot today. This has happened a lot recently - being able to visit the site one day, and then not for the next couple of days. It's no big problem as long as I get through my submissions.

So for that reason, I'm not certain I'm in the spotlight, but I've been assured by Islander it's true! I guess I should say thanks to the "random" choosing machine that selected me...

Um, also I'd like to make (another) apology for being absent from forums and blogs. Obviously with limited access and none of my favourite shows on at the moment, I've not really been around. Still, two of my shows will be back soon, so I'll be on here a lot more.

TV-wise, there's not much on at the moment. What I've caught of The Sarah Jane Adventures has been quite good - I missed the finale on Monday (that is, if they did show it on the CBBC channel), but it'll be repeated this Monday. It was nice to see the return of Ms. Wormwood, the Sontarans, and of course, the Brigadier in the first part.

Desperate Housewives is quite good, as well. Setting the fifth series five years in the future wasn't a bad move as it's allowed the introduction of a lot of new situations. Dave (Edie's husband) is really mystifying, and can I ask - am I the only one who seems to be uninterested in all of Susan's storylines? I'm not at all bothered about her and Jackson.

As mentioned, two of my shows are returning early next year - Primeval and, of course, Waterloo Road. I don't know much about the third series of Primeval, but there's been a Waterloo Road press release for the first episode of Series Four (which airs on January 7th). For those who care (anyone?), both Rachel and Davina (one who was crushed by a collapsed roof, and the other who had smoke inhalation) were said to have died, but it turned out neither have! That's really good news, especially with Davina, who is one of my favourites. And it'll be the first time one of Tom's girlfriends hasn't died! Both Lorna and Izzie died in the second series...

Um, Richard would never forgive me for not using my new-found spotlight fame to advertise our animation, Doreen and Maureen. After we finished the first series, I promised there would be a further series, however, we agreed only to do one final episode, which we released a couple of weeks ago. It's called "Black Wedding", and whilst it may not make complete sense if you've not seen the other episodes, it's still pretty funny. It continues from the cliffhanger at the end of "Emo Grunts", and has some nice twists. Check it out here (and definitely watch after the credits):

http://www.freewebs.com/doreen-and-maureen2/finalepisode.htm/

I think that's about it for today. I hope you guys are all okay, and I'll try to keep this up a little more regularly.

(Can't see my TV.com level or percentage...is it Level 32 or 33...? And it's around 58%, right? I don't know, I'm just guessing...)

Submissions - My Queue not working
Hey people!

Due to this wonderful "new look" that TV.com insists we wanted my Queue does not work. At first I couldn't reject submissions, now I can't accept them either.

I still have to access messages from MovieTome or MP3. The ones I do get are sometimes "Phantom messages" to boot.

So please until further notice, please, no more submissions. Which totally sucks because the the 10th Season Premire of SVU is Tuesday.

Who know when the staff/tech will have thing back to what passes for "normal" and I can sort through all of your pending submissions.

I'm trying to be patient but it's been three days now.

I'M BACK! (ish)

HELLO!!!!

Remember me? I've been MIA for a while and thought that I'd pop up again and let you know what's been up

I moved from SoCal to Chicago for school and love it so far, only met one Doctor Who fan so far, and I think that my Doctor obsession paired with my Dr. Strangelove poster is what has lead him to propose... 3 times

Other than that still working in theater, as always, don't have cable in my room yet, but there's a guy on my floor who is a cable guy, so he's going to fix that up for me and my roommates, just in time for Heroes!!!

So I'm going to be a girl right now and talk about another one of my favorite shows

GREEK

You don't have to like it because it really not that good but I love it. Last night i used the wonder of the internet to watch the latest episode and it changed the show for me.

See, I WAS a big Casey/Cappie shipper when the show started, and then they had to introduce Max, the adorably smart, sweet, painfully shy R, and gave him and Casey a oh-to-cute moment at the end of the show that had me saying to myself 'I don't care! He can be a meth dealing Sociopath and I will still ship them to the ends of the earth'

Photobucket

Photobucket

Did I mention he's insanely attractive and watches Doctor Who?

Other than that, I'm going to see Kevin Divine tomorrow night, and am slowly getting sucked into Sons of Anarchy

LOVELLUS!!!(I've missed typing that!)

Gossip Girl; Summer Kind of Wonderful

Hello people. This blog was basically born out of the fact that I wanted to play around in photoshop! Since Gossip Girl season two premiered the other day, in it's wonderful satirical fashion it mocks the society it represents, so I thought I would take a leaf out of their book. Thus here's my spoof recap of the season opener. It looks long, but it's just a lot of screencaps!

First we start off with a long and boring recap... after, Serena walks on the beach looking all model mysterious. However she gets a mouth full of Bass for talking smack about him and his decision to manwhore instead of running off with Blair to France.

Blair
The fun starts here… (Blair has a new "boyfriend", he's American it seems), but for Chuck it's emo faces all the way.

CB
Spotted: Chuck Bass working out how he can strangle Lord Marcus AKA 'James' with his scarf.

CB garden
It's the next day and Blair's raving about Lord Marcus AKA 'James' to Serena, but Chuck isn't buying what she's selling. Serena acting the bimbo is like: 'whaaa? Who's James? Did you get a gigolo?'

Chuck
Chuck's all, 'no Blair. You're a lying liar who lies. Once you go Bass you never go back. Now sit still while I Jedi-mind trick you.'

Blair hmm
'Hmm?'

Blah Blah Blah, after this we're in Brooklyn again but that's even worse than the boring MILF sex scenes.

Dan's all 'struggling writer guy' and his social-climbing sister (Jenny) is working in a sweatshop, ran by a woman with crazy hair. If you would like to see the woman with crazy hair please click here.

Dinner

Chuck pulling a face
Chuck is checking out Serena's Grandma. He ain't ageist.

Oops

Blair and Chuck
Chuck pulls another emo face.

Ouch. That's a lot blow from Blair, not only did she take her pin back from Natey, she gave it to that dickwod Lord Marcus AKA 'James'.

Chuck runs away crying and now wants to go listen to some Dashboard Confessional. Blair talks him off the edge… and instead tells him she loves, like REALLY REALLY Ken and Barbie loves Lord Marcus AKA 'James'.

Photographic

Cry
Blair starts crying because she knows that her declaration of love for Lord Marcus AKA 'James' has driven Chuck to go listen to Dashboard Confessional songs… which means he'll be crying during sex from now on.

MILF
Nate got some serious MILF action in the premiere. Too bad despite the fact that he was half naked in this scene it was STILL totally boring. Although, I think the writers have finally worked out what Nate is good for. Not saying much, half nude. If you would like to see more pictures of Nate 'half nude' please click here. At some point Natey gets almost caught by his MILFs husband, it's all very dramatic and I'm bored. Lala, what's MotherChucker doing?

Chuck bumps into Blair the next day and informs her that her beloved Lord Marcus AKA 'James' is a lying liar who lies; he schools in Princeton not Georgetown… thus ensues an argument.

Argue
'Georgetown!'

More arguing
'Princeton!'

5 hours later...

Still arguing
'You suck. Yah, you do.'

Nate and Serena are talking about… well I don't know. I wasn't listening, but Nate looked confused, again. If you would like to see more pictures of Nate looking confused please click here and here.

Croquet
The boys are playing croquet. Chuck's a metrosexual, so as usual has an outfit for every occasion. Oh Chuck, you diabolical bastard.

Because he's 'Chuck Bass' (and not ironically) he has a PI on speed-dial; he's also been busy during the summer becoming Yoda to Erics Luke -- teaching him the wonders of blackmail, manipulation, scheming and other general evolness.

Snog
The White Party: Since Nate didn't get to third with his MILF he's harassing his fake girlfriend, Serena, instead.

Oops Dan's back!
Whoops. Dan's escaped Brooklyn. He's also bracing himself to be judgmental.

LM
In the mean time, while Blair's admiring the paint job in the pool house Lord Marcus AKA 'James', is going on about some s*** no one knows what. At this point I'm bracing myself for Dans inevitable 'you slut!!' to Serena, despite manwhoring himself about town all summer. But alas!

Blair sees Chuck across a crowded room, instead of begging him to strangle Lord Marcus AKA 'James' with his scarf she's all:

Loved up not
Blair says: 'You're so funny!'
She's actually saying: 'You're so funny! Only, not really. I'm just making Chuck jealous, so shut up and make like you're not gay.'

Cut to Jenny who's suddenly appeared at the white party wearing an eggshell coloured dress, the moron. Then there's some rubbish with her sweatshop dictator telling her to get out because she's 'oh so common and poor'. Something else happens as well, I'm not caring.

In other news Lord Marcus AKA 'James' finally realises Blair is evol. But then he tells her he's also been dishonest. Lord Marcus AKA 'James' is secretly BRITISH! OMG! WTF! He's also called 'Lord Marcus' not 'James'. His secret plan is to hook up with Eric, but he's kind of old and would get arrested… so that won't happen anytime soon. Chuck in the background has had the call from his PI that LORD MARCUS IS BRITISH!!!! Chuck's all WTF? 'I AM THE ONLY BRITISH PERSON HERE!' But it's too late Blair already knows, he can't use this information against Lord Marcus.

Blair tells Lord Marcus WHO IS BRITISH: 'You keep talking in that accent and I'll think of something'.

No Blair, he really should not keep talking in that accent, it's offensive to British people. Lord Marcus sounds like someone doing a poor impression of Hugh Grant... on some kind of narcotic.

After this, we get to see karma bite Dan on the behind whilst Serena pulls this face -- 'that's for calling me a slut you judgemental SOB'. If you would like to see Dan get two drinks thrown over him you'll have to watch the episode because I don't have the bloody clip.

After more random crap, Blair makes up with Lord Marcus, he's British don't ya know, also she appears to find inbreeding royalty attractive. As she stands thinking about how she can redecorate Windsor castle, Chuck turns up as he's now listened to enough Dashboard Confessional to sufficently talk about his feelings.

Love

Aww

Sad!
I could easily make some tasteless attempt at a joke here, but no. It's too awesome a scene to be flippent about. The acting, direction, writing was all perfect.

Chuck: Please don't leave with him.
Blair: Why? Give me a reason... and "I'm Chuck Bass" doesn't count.
Chuck: 'Cause you don't want to.
Blair: That's not enough.
Chuck: 'Cause I don't want you to.
Blair: That's not enough.
Chuck: What else is there?
Blair: The true reason I should stay right where I am and not get in the car. Three words. Eight letters. Say it... and I'm yours.
Chuck: I... I ... [pause]
Blair: Thank you. That's all I needed to hear.

In all seriousness it was an ok episode, although I think having it in the Hampton's took away from the usual 'vibe' and atmosphere of the show. Looking forward to the next week though. What did you think of the episode?

A Bunny Birthday?

Today is a special day. Anyone know what's so special about it? Anyone? Yes, you at the back? What? No it is not Independence Day in the Republic of Niger. Well, it is, but that's not the answer I was looking for.

It is in fact my Bunny's Birthday!

That's right, it's been another rotation of the Earth round the sun since Susi celebrated her last birthday.

I've tried to time this right, which has meant confusing myself and putting it up (almost) an hour early, but hey ho, that's what you get for being part of a relationship that spans timezones.

And I'm glad to be part of that relationship. Nothing has made me happier in my life than having Susi by my side (figuratively speaking, anyway) for the past 8 months. And in less than one month we get to see each other again.

Meeting Susi here was a turning point in my life. It's when I had someone other than my family to confide in, when I had my one true equal in life to talk to, to care for, to love with all my heart. One person to share my problems with, and to share their problems as well. I know it took us a while to get together, hell, everyone around us could apparently tell it was going to happen long before it did, but we didn't. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that I found my perfect girl.

I couldn't be more thankful for having you in my life, honey. You make every day worth getting up for, even though you're so far away. I miss you more and more with each passing day, but soon we get six whole months together. I already know that that is going to be the greatest six months ever.

I did have a lot more to write here, but I forgot to take notes and my mind has slowly gone blank over the course of writing it. Good job Lee. So I'll just add cake and go...

Oh, and to send all my love to a special girl on her Birthday. Can't forget that, can I?

I love you Honey. Thank you for being you.

Please Turn Left (and get on with it)

Hello, hello. A shorter blog this time, just about Doctor Who. Only two more left, and they're looking rather good, with Russel T Davies playing 'how much can we shove into two episodes before they explode?!' But anyway, we've still got all that to come.

Silence in the Library - superb casting, great CGI, a typically brilliant script from Moffat. What more could you ask for? Of course, it's not perfect. The Data Ghost scene goes on a bit (although it is necessary for setting up the later scares) and the cliffhanger is just a lot of shouting (with an obvious resolution) but you can't have everything. Vashta Nerada must be the best name for anything ever... 9/10

Forest of the Dead - Faster paced than the first part and generally a much more exciting episode. Donna's virtual life provides a nice secondary plot (watch Doctor Moon's funny facial expressions! he's hilarious!) and the cast continue to impress. Tennant and Alex Kingston are amazing in their scenes together - provided with great dialogue (and imagery) - 'you watch us run', the Doctor opening the TARDIS by snapping his fingers, etc. River's 'death' scene is the best bit, almost topped by the Doctor's final run to save her. Just brilliant. 10/10

Midnight - a pleasingly decent script from Russel T Davies, who is not among my favourite writers for this series. There's no escaping the fact that this is filler, but if you accept that, it's very enjoyable. The cast are all good, but it is Tennant who holds this together in the weaker moments - such as the repeating stuff going on too long. Some people are gonna find this tedious, as it's basically some people in a box shouting at each other, but I didn't, really. Better than I expected, 7/10

Turn Left - Rose is back, hooray! Thank god, cos without Billie Piper this episode would have fizzled out completey. Catherine Tate isn't bad as an actress, and she just about carries it off, but the story's not exactly interesting...more like a clipshow of series 3 and 4, or a 'best of RTD' episode, with a bit of ATMOS thrown in for good measure. The pre-titles scenes are great, and the last five minutes are amazing, it's just a bit stodgy and uninteresting in between. I just felt the whole thing was fairly pointless, especially as everything looks so good next week. Ah well. The trailer...wow. Should be good. 6/10

Please post comments! We can argue about which ones are good and which ones aren't

...and the award goes to..Jhon!

Well I just had to didn't I? After the comments over the last hour or so. Having read his profile, quite a few of his posts and comments, I have been entertained, enlightened, educated and of course embiggened, so I felt he was right in asking just where his lifetime achievement award was, so here it is;

LAA

Unless you prefer this sort?

TW

TH

Please raise your glasses to Vendbien (and give him one) and toast an award a long time in the making, and I'm sure just as long in the celebrating . it's a good thing he's just joined the household, at least he won't have to drive home.

Oh, and as to the other thing, the imagination is always fertile ground, but I'll leave a little something in your room.

Politics

It's a topic I avoid to the best of my ability, but one that is rearing its ugly head in my home state of Pennsylvania. Since our primary is so late in the campaign season we usually have no say in deciding the nominees, but this year is very different.

I had been a registered Independent for years but Pennsylvania's primary is a closed one. That means that Republicans vote for Republicans, Democrats vote for Democrats and Independents have no say--unless there is an Independent running. Anyway, I switched parties so that I could have a say. I'm now a registered Democrat. I have strong leanings to that party anyway, particularly on social issues. Now I have to decide whether to vote for Clinton or Obama.

I like certain things about them both and I dislike certain things about them both. A combined ticket would be nice and Clinton has said she would do that, but Obama has not and Obama seems to be more likely to nab the nomination in the end.

Electibility is a term thrown around a lot. Which of the two would me more likely to win versus McCain, or would either win.

Any thoughts?

A sea of faces!

Hi everyone!

I took part in Jack Petchey's Speak out! competition at my school it was really good because we were coached in how to speak infront of a crowd. Our body language, eyecontact, pace etc it was really interesting because you could really see people developing throughout the day as we learnt new things!

Well the competition itself came towards the end of the day when we were given the task of preparing a speech about a subject we felt strongly about to present to the rest of the group. I choose the fact that the emergency services are underpayed, it just annoys me that certain porfessions get paid more when the emergency services are so valuble. Anyway I was really nervous and shaking and it soon came to my turn but when I stood up I just thought 'I'm gonna go for it there's no point my nerves getting to me'. So I blitzed through it and it turns out...

I came second Which means I'm through to the Borough final but I'm not sure if I'm a reserve or actually speaking, but it'll be a good experience!

I'm thinking of buying Knocked up and Superbad has anybody seen them and would you recommend?

Hope everyone's had a good week so far
