Is it....? Could it be...? A Wii!!!
In a gaming dry spell.
I have no money.
Well, wait, I do have money....but I don't have money. Allow me to explain. I've been saving up all my money because I have to pay for half of drivers ed and a car. So I have money saved up, but I can't use any of it. Because of this, I have been unable to get any new games. Seeing my brother with all his new games makes me jealous. He's always got the newest, coolest games. Alas, I will be unable to buy new games for myself until I'm able to get a job. *Sigh* Oh well, better break out SSX Tricky.
UPDATE: Just last night, my brother lost his Xbox 360. Yup folks, it had the 3 rings of death. Now he has nothing to play games on. Hahahaha, we're even!![]()
UPDATE 2: He bought a new one the next day and transferred his old hardrive to it. I hate him.
My general thoughts on GH3, and a little story of a happy moment.
Well, my older brother just picked up Guitar Hero III for his Xbox 360, and since we're both gamers he wanted to share it with me. My first thoughts when I saw the game was "Wow, these graphics are pretty intense!" Then, after he had played through a song (he's some-what of a beginner by the way, struggling his way through medium but getting better everyday) he handed the guitar to me. The guitar controller for GH3 is way better than the others. It just feels sturdier and looks cooler. Then I began to poke around the tracklist looking for a song. I was very impressed. Being someone who is more into newer alternative rock then classic rock I was very happy to find songs from The Killers, AFI, and Muse in with the other classics. I decided to try "When You Were Young" by The Killers. This was the first time I had played it, and I also wanted to get used to the controller. So I put it on medium. Now, I have both GH I and II for my PS2 so I was actually better then my brother. I started the song, it was relatively easy, which wasn't suprising. My brother left to go the bathroom and I just kept playing. When he walked back in I was on a 300 note streak, I hadn't missed a single one. He sat down and watched in disbelief, he had never actually seen me play GH. As the song came to a close he said "Did you hit every note?" I said "I think so." and he was like "Woah, you just got me two achivements!" and I was like "Oh, ok." Then his friend signed on and he started talking to him and was telling his friend about how I "destroyed" the song. He wanted me to vs. his friend but I never got a chance too. This was probably for the best, because his friend was good, I saw them play a match and his friend was on hard and doing very well. I usually play on hard so I think I could take him, but I just wasn't used to the songs like he was.
Now, I guess the main reason I'm so happy about this is that it's not often that my older brother (who is 19) ever praises me for gaming. He is really good at any game he picks up. So he usually focuses on his achivements and shows me games, but doesn't really let me play his games, and even when he does, he doesn't expect me to be any good. So I feel like he actually respectss me, his little sister, as a gamer at least a little more than he did before. ![]()
The 3 Games That Haunt Me
We've all got at least one old game that is haunting us, don't we? It may be just me because when I played these games I was younger and sucked at games. But regardless, there are 3 games on my mind that have been bothering me lately. All for the same reason: I never beat them before I got rid of/lost them. Here's my 2 games and 1 that I recently beat but was haunting me for a pretty long time.
3.) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
I got this game after beating LoZ: OT. I knew it was the sequel and thought it would be fun to play. This was when I was about 7 or 8 so I wasn't a really big gamer yet. I hated this game. It frustrated me so much because I never knew what I had to do next and how much time it would take out of the given 3 days. So, I just stopped playing it. I ended up forgetting it existed until I sold my N64 and games so I could get a GC and XBOX. It bothered me that I never actually beat it though. One day, I went into Gamestop looking for some used games. Then I saw it. A copy of The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (GC)! For those of you who don't know, this collection has the full versions of LoZ (NES), LoZ II: LA (SNES), LoZ: OT (N64), and LoZ: MM (N64). I bought it immediately since I knew it wasn't for sale anywhere else. I was lucky to come across this used copy. I recently just beat it, twice. =P So even though it's not haunting me anymore it still was for a pretty long time.
2.) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB)
Whaddya know? Another Zelda game. This one was the first game I ever played. This is when I really sucked at games. I was like 4 when i got my own gameboy and my sister let me use one of the files on her game. I would play for about two seconds, get nothing done in it, and then get bored and put it away. I was having more fun playing Bonk's Revenge and Kid Dracula. There was just something more entertaining about a caveman ramming things with his large head and a kid who was a vampire than some little green dude running around with a sword. I also want to go back and beat this now. But alas, I found my Gameboy (and Bonk's Revenge and Kid Dracula :-P) but I can't find this game. Will I ever beat it?
1.) Donkey Kong 64 (N64)
This is the big one. The one that has always bothered me because I never beat it. I tried. I really did. I was the best at this game. Better than my brother! Which is huge for me because he's older and gaming is pretty much his life so he owns at any game he gets his hands on. This was, and may still be, my favorite game of all time. The gameplay is great. It's one of those games that's just right in terms of difficulty. I played this game all the time. I had tons of golden bananas. Each Kong had every amazing ability they could get. I beat every single level. I was ready for the final boss fight. All I needed was the final key, just behind a door at the end of the last level. Then, I hit a snag. To open that door, I needed two special coins. The Nintendo Coin and the Rareware Coin. I had gotten the Nintendo Coin by beating the Donkey Kong arcade game in one of the levels. But the Rareware Coin......that was harder. To obtain that coin I found out I had to get a score of like 50000 on another arcade game. I forget the name of it, but it's one with a spaceman who needs to collect pieces of his ship and fuel it each level, all while avoiding evil aliens. I couldn't get it. I was horrible at that game. All i needed was that! Eventually, I gave in and stopped trying because it frustrated me so much. Then, I sold my N64 and this game. Now, I want it back. I can beat it, I know I can. All I need is for Nintendo to release it on the Wii Virtual Console and then I will get it again. And I will beat it!!!
Well, that was a pretty long post. But that's my list of old games I want to beat. What about you guys? Got any old games you never beat but now want to?
Cool.
snow? noooo!

I need to sort out my priorities.....................
So now that I have a steady income, i have a problem. What to save for. As most people can tell I REALLY want an Xbox 360. But hey, when I get my license I'm also gonna REALLY want a car. So what's a gamer to do?! I know! Sort out my priorities! So here they are, the top five priorities!
1.) Save for car
2.) Save for college
3.) Save for Xbox 360
4.) Save for cellphone and convince dad to put me on his plan
5.) Save for GAMES! Like, hopefully, Gutair Hero 2 for 360....
