Modern Warfare 2 in 3 days, and I have a dilema...

Hi all,

First off, I'd like to say welcome back to Will, or ODST-Helljumper as he is now known. Having been banned quite a while back he is now well and truly back on the ye olde radare, but for how long no one knows :/

Now, onwards with the dilema.

Seeing as MW2 is being priced with an RRP of a frankly ludicrous £55 (about $90 US equivalent), I can barely afford to purchase it. However, I have a £10 voucher for GAME from Will still kept safe in my wallet, so maybe is GAME price it in store the same as online (£45 as opposed to £55) then I can get it with no fuss.

The catch is that GAME are offering people to trade in CoD4: MW to get half price off of MW2, which is very tempting, especially if the game is indeed £55 at launch.

What is everyone's opinions on this? I'd rather not get rid of CoD4 if I could so avoid it, but if these things have to be done, then... :/

Help!

Regards, Matt

Not sure mate, I live in the states. I'd say just get rid of CoD4 to reduce the price. Once you get MW2, you'll probably never touch CoD4 again, right?

I guess you could get rid of CoD4 unless you re-play a lot singlepayer, I already made my pre-order of Modern Warfare 2

DUDES!!! good to be back Do what ever it takes to get it Matt. You know you want to. 3 of my friends ordered it from tesco's and got it Friday, i'm annoyed lol

Raiden:- I am tempted by that, could well be what I do. I just want to hold out and see how much it is instore at GAME where I live. If it is under £48 I can get it cheaper than at coolshop due to the voucher. I reckon it'll be £45 and in which case I can get it for £35 (Y)

Tennis12master:- That is a very true point, and considering I might not it seems a good plan. I have just spent so much time playing it, and it is such a good game, I cant bare to see it go!

Giorgio:- I just can't do it :'( Haha, I dont want to trade it unless I absolutley have to. ODST:- "Do whatever it takes" sums up my efforts thus far, and that wont be faultering comrades. Its great to talk to you all again btw

hmm yeah your right game will properly do it for £45 on the day but yet I would still go for cool shop because 1) u will get to keep cod4 and yes people say u will never touch it again but at least its there and if you do you can. i mean people have WAW and cod 4 and people still go back to 4, when MW2 is out people will still go back to WAW, anyway im rambling lol

2) u can save the £10 voucher for another upcoming release which you may want i say this as the next game will properly be £40 and not £45 like MW2.

Thats just what i think

Well, again I recommend yo to either cash favours or start blackmailing, .
Or you could ask fr the remaining money to your parents and don't eat lunch in a few days, with Modern Warfare 2 who needs to eat

I'd say get rid of it, but at the same time it is nice to go through all your old games again and I'm sure CoD4 had some great memories .
Posted 11/08/2009 9:53pm
And whom do you have to thank for the voucher lol

Breaking news - I have found it for £26 at a UK retailer. I will not say which one, as any one of you could take my copy

So yeah dad is getting it for me tomorrow if he can get it from that shop, and my back up is a still brilliant £32. Niether are GAME though, so I wont be getting it for £16!

CANT WAIT NOW

Good for you, I will have to wait a few months.

I'm guaranteed delivery for tomorrow but according to Play.com it hasn't been dispatched yet, worry is assured
Posted 11/09/2009 12:07pm
Just pay for the whole thing.

its not £55 in game mate its £44.99, if asda, tesco, sainsburys or others are still doing the offer its £25/26 in the supermarkets as well, also there is no point keeping hold of cod mw as the multiplayer on mw2 is just so amazing you wont ever need or go back to mw, its a shame you dont have a 360 as 360 is getting 2 exclusive map packs for MW 2
Posted 11/11/2009 8:34am
Oh, that will make for good taunting

About Me

Hi, I'm Matt. Anyone who adds me as a friends is accepted, and i'll try to comment on your blogs if you comment on mine! I love my PS3. I was one of the lucky ones that got a 60gb model, but I'm soon replacing this with a 250gb HDD :D I like Xbox, and Wii does absolutely nothing for me at all really...
