It's worth repeating that most Professional music critics have never been or will be part of the music scene; so it's always best to take their views with the proverbial pinch of salt. Music endures and they retire, eventually!!

This is especially true about their views of Todd Rundgren's musical career ,which has had plenty of highs and lows to be sure; but at the end of the day he's always been true to himself as an artist and musican over 3 decades, and in case the critics didn't realise it this means risk taking, going against what people want him to do, being independent and flirting with failure! Hey, it's all part of the creative process, guys!

For consistency this is Todd's strongest album for more than a decade. There just aren't any weak tracks thrown in the mix and a number of standouts: Soul Brother, Future, Past and Flaw.

As usual with Todd, he covers a wide range of musical styles in peerless fashion, and the skill with which he creates atmosphere and mood breathtaking.....so don't believe a word of it, this rocks!!

If you haven't heard his music for a while it may surprise you, as he's synthesised so many musical styles and trends over the years.
